Neungsiam Fairtex was my second muaythai teacher, and I appreciate his muaythai stance. Standing facing your opponent almost square. Notice his rear foot only angle out slightly, and not pointed out as much as in Queensbury boxing. This will faciltate in blocking (checking) of opponent's kick more effeciently.
Ive been training at a good Muay Thai gym my city. Learned plenty of basic Muay Thai skills, but my anxiety disorder was such a set back. Not necessarily the experience of practicing Muay Thai but more the traveling. These videos do help retain the skill set. While I’m also working on the anxiety.
Very informative Video! A very must need for a beginner who started going. This is sort of my private training because at class, he can’t focus on one forever.
lmao bro this is golden content just like the era he fought in. great video for every level of fighter either to learn from him or to confirm your beliefs about fighting. Could listen to him all day answering absolutely most simple questions and details about Muay Thai
Thanks for this video! I’m just starting out in Muay Thai and I love Neungsiam Fairtex's instructions. I find I have a little trouble understanding him so I’ve been going back and rewatching these vids at 0.75x speed. I find that really helps me understand every word he’s saying 👍
Ima be honest, im not gonna follow the advice unless the guy looks like he could be my uncle and ngl, these guys look like my uncle and even talks like them, the thick thai accent just adds so much
Also, boxers will pivot the front foot inward when throwing lead hooks where as MT doesn’t. Reason: once you pivot the lead foot / knee / leg, your opponent will drop a low kick on you that will be impossible to - take (let alone defend) Just take a look at boxers: left hook, left pivot. MT: left hook, left foot staying “square” or pointed toward opponent. From here you can check with the shin, or like the Kyokushin fighters, just take the kick (by putting weight on, pushing lead leg out slightly, toward the incoming kick)
Wow I like that the coach understands that everyone is unique in their stance and approach.
