Been trying to figure out how do this step setup for kicks for literally years and could never get it. Thanks!! 🙏 Edit: is it the exact same step to set up the power roundhouse kicks like I see all the thais do? The reason I ask is bc when you did the skip step for your kick it looked different to me. Was more of a bounce than a slide.
If you want to quickly cover ground then you are taking a step forward and sliding more. If you want to throw a power kick, you use the same 1-2 step, but the initial 1 bounce you are pushing off on your rear leg directly into the kick, and then stepping forward with the 2. Same pattern but the movement call look different depending on what whether you slide forward or bounce into a kick.
@@Muaythaipros alright that info helps I was just confused too bc after studying tape of people kicking with the bounce it seems their front foot actually moves a few inches inwards before the kick. Appreciate the reply and I will keep practicing until I get it right.
Unrelated but how tall are you and what size of shorts you wear? I want to buy some shorts and this would give me a good idea. Thank you for the great content btw!
Never saw this foot work explained so well before! Thank you so much!
Very effective and a lot of the Thais use it to set up fakes.
Great breakdown and explanation!
Cheers brother.
Excellent channel, you just earned yourself a new subscriber brother!
Wow this is a real move that's awesome! In Tekken they call it a mist step (You press Forward, Down, Down + Forward)
Love to hear the comparison. I used to love playing Tekken
imagine someone doing it in rapid succession toward you the way you can in tekken 😂
Great explanation..so many jyst show off n do😊
Its a shuffle step, you made it look simple. nice work.
shuffle step and skip step is kinda like the same thing, english has 10 times more words than thai
I always see sitjaopho use this during their kick especially petch-eak and petch-tho padwork session
Very common for Muay Femeu fighters to use these techniques.
now how do i get out of the line of sight of my opponent so i look like i disappear in an instant?
You just need good video editing software to make yourself disappear and appear right after. Easy.
omae wa mou shindeiru
You have to pray to get put in a anime
Kengan lol

Branch out:), use both the slide and bounce in different scenarios when you feel whichever one is better
It also works so well for the cross, high percentage landing rate in sparring when I use this step

5'10 and size Large shorts of Thai brands, I roll the waist usually to make them a bit shorter
@@Muaythaipros thank you same height as me. I've been looking at MTP shorts for a while.
I still do not understand why is it better than just stepping directly and how does it cut more distance, looks the same.

Oh cool they’re slaughtering all the ducks in this video 😂
This footwork is perfect to lunge into range with a cross or rear body kick
