Bro, I learned footwork and pivoting from your videos about a decade ago that was how I mastered it... I'm now 15-1(amateur) and will be going pro soon... #Salute to you Boss
Note for self: 1. Step forward on jab, squish the spider with foot, and pull back. 2. Step forward for both feet on 1-2s. 3. Pendulum step: step rear foot back + throw cross > bring rear foot back to base + lead uppercut > step lead foot forward into lead hook > repeat
Whether it's from experience or endless training they both work so well together and it helps even more when they're both in sync with each It's always good to see Shane back I remember the days of the g.o.a.t series
Great Video Shane, Will definitely master, Getting ready for my Second Amateur Boxing fight this Saturday in Vegas!!!!! Love the channel would definitetly love to train with you, I used to train with Coach Juan at Sweet Science in Hawthorne,CA but now live in Vegas
@@fighttips Yes definitely whenever your in Vegas we could definitely train or in Cali I still visit my family in Cali. Thanks for the wishes, Look forward to more videos, Your a Big part of How I got into Boxing I found Sweet Science through your channel🙏
Some of these footwork patterns look eerily similar to the Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do footwork patterns I first learned back in the early 90s. The pendulum step was used to execute a sidekick, in and out very quickly.
What do you recommend for those with hip/knee injuries? I do try and stretch and stay as flexible as I can but I do find it harder to stay mobile as much as I would like to be. Love the content brother, big fan.
Absolutely mate a few things u can do 2 increase power is explosive push ups core workout for rotational power when throwing punches and for kicks do squats/ jump squats (add weight if u need to) calf rasies and lastly u can work on the heavybag. Hope this helped
i don't get the third one. What is the purpose of the step back, if you can hit his head, he still can hit yours, so result seems to be the same if you take the step or not? Also i have never boxed in my life, just trying to pick up some shadow boxing to train endurance and such things so an easy explanation is prefered.
Great question. It is a way of widening your base, taking your head offline, and loading up the rear cald sp you can quickly spring into the pendulum step. Also, your head will fade slightly away by doing this (as opposed to stepping in or staying stationary).
I've watched a couple of videos and in both his back foot has been directly behind his lead foot... this is something you never do in boxing as it leads to poor balance and lack of power and range in the backhand. . What's the reason for this? Is it something you do in other martial arts???
Mike tysons head movement wont work for kickboxing u can use head movement but dont always be weaving so low like Tyson or ull probably keep a knee or kick to the face. When ur weaving keep ur guard high just incase
@@studywithteja u can use head movement but not constantly weaving so low like mike tyson cuz that will get u kneed in the head. Just normal weaves and slips also use parrys and the pull back
Hey shane why in muay thai u stand in a narrow squared stance and have less footwork compared to kickboxing. Im guessing its to check leg kicks being squared and narrow but then again dont kickboxers have to check aswell. Same with mma most fighters have more footwork unlike muay thai
Great question! It certainly comes down to style preference and scoring. The narrow, squared stance is best for having equal power on both sides, better mobility for checking/catching kicks, and better for the clinch. A bladed stance is better for quick in-and-out movements, boxing, and side/spinning kicks. Here's more on the topic: ruclips.net/video/16sdULbrQXk/видео.html

I may be late, but I hope this footwork patterns can help me against an imaginary 100kg praying mantis whenever I shadowbox

Yes. Just Be brave.
