      Hi COA! That’s a really thoughtful comment, thank you. I’ve really only been going since June and it’s hard to gauge how things I’m trying are received. I think - like anything - it improves over time (I hope so!) and I don’t want to become too formulaic, so I’m interested to see where this journey takes me (and us)! Glad you are here! Pxo

    Hi Patrick, new subscriber from Toronto. Enjoyed this video as I'm researching a trip to Ireland with my dad who is 85 and will need a lie flat bus seat. This flight and configuration looks perfect. Appreciate the detail you provided about the class of service and the seat amenities. That massage feature looks fabulous. Thanks again for your review. Cheers, K

      Hi Kathryn, thank you for the sub. This kind of narrow body is becoming the standard for transatlantic trips and the business class service and lie-flat beds are really everything you need. I hope you have a great trip with your dad!

      Hi JM! Thanks for your lovely comment! I think you’ll enjoy the narrow body plane just fine… some commenters do prefer the wide body for moving around, access, how it flies… but I found the A321neo just fine for these pond-hopper routes. Enjoy Germany!

    I am looking to fly Aer Lingus from Manchester to New York next February which would be on this type of Aircraft so thanks for the great review. I am looking at all options but a flight out in Economy and back in Business is a definite option. Whilst the overall product is not as good as Air France on their 777 the price of that has shot up in the last 4 years since I last flew with them to New York so this is an affordable alternative which avoids a change of planes and especially doing half and half and once you factor in the extra 100 euros for a small amount of extra leg room in economy.

      Thanks for your comment and I’m glad you enjoyed the vlog. This is one of my favourite ways to create an itinerary to the US - the day flight TO does not always warrant a business class fare while the return does give you the chance to sleep in some comfort.
      Hope you enjoy some of the other videos and some more upcoming treats!

    Those views from the lounge are amazing! Wait, somebody stole the belt?! Please elaborate?! Lol. 8:03 is super relatable also, you know it’s gonna be a looong flight! Lol but I always feel sorry for the parents too. I’ve really enjoyed the Canadian series and look forward to the next adventure! The business product looks nice but I’ll be sad to see wide-body aircraft slowly disappear. I think €330 on top of the original fare is a bit steep, I understand it’s great to have especially on an overnight but I think €330 + original for a single trip is expensive. Can I ask the total cost?
    Can I ask a huge favour? Could you put the name of the songs in your videos in the description? Some of them I really enjoy! Especially the one as you approached Dublin. Those bottles of drink looked cool and I’m sure tasted even better. Looking forward to the next video :)

      I guess the belt ‘accidentally went missing’ 😳
      Yes it’s tough on the parents. The baby was very upset for a lot of the flight and must have been exhausted as well as upset. I can’t believe Canada is over! Now time to draw Iceland to a gentle close before the Baltics Series starts.
      I use Epidemic Sound. Let me pull something together on that soon. Pxo

      Weather Any Storm - Cody Francis

    Why does Aer Lingus use the KLM/Air France Lounge?

    • @PlanetPatrick
      @PlanetPatrick  2 года назад

      Good question. I guess (and it is a guess) because they have insufficient traffic to warrant their own lounge and this lounge is best positioned near the gates used by international flights.

    i absolutly would have paid 330e extra for the seat, on my recent aer lingus flight the upgrade was over $3300 dollars over the already $1200 ticket for one of the legs, way too much

    I’d find this interesting as I did the outbound leg’s report, however your 06:30 release time ( ☘️), has me not ‘Setting a reminder’ as I don’t want to be woken at such an early hour 😴. Perhaps release your vids at a more socially acceptable time ?

    • @PlanetPatrick
      @PlanetPatrick  2 года назад +1

      Hi Cedar Key. I hope you will be sound asleep at 06:30 if you're in Ireland!
      I feel really lucky that my vlogs have started to be watched in lots of different places and, so it's hard to find an ideal time for a premiere. I usually release either at 7.30am or 8am my time as I'm an early riser and I can answer any questions before I start work. I'm happy to push this to 0700 am for tomorrow.
      I'm sure you know, but just in case another reader does not, that the video is available for everyone right after the premiere.
      Thanks for taking the time to comment. Hope you enjoy it when you see it!
      Patrick

    So just watched your trip back. All very well edited and looked like an enjoyable trip. Not a great fan of Toronto myself, it’s design as a city is quite claustrophobic insofar as most streets have buildings placed at each end thereby creating a sense of being enclosed. This is unlike other large cities in Canada and the rest of North America where the long avenues etc seem to go on forever. I have to point out one aspect of your video the idea being a tad annoying though. At 13:30-13:45, you discuss mask wearing and declare that they’re a necessary inconvenience because they ‘keep us safe’. Yet at 09:15, you remove it to drink your undoubtedly lovely G&T. If this doesn’t show that the whole mask thing is a load of nonsense, then nothing does. Apparent deadly pandemic is neutralised because we are having a bite to eat or enjoying a nice drink. Anyhow, keep up the great blogs, highly enjoyable and don’t be allowing your GoPro fall behind those electric seats. Waiting for engineers only delays everyone going home including the cabin crew. At that time of morning I’m sure everyone wanted their beds 😴

    • @PlanetPatrick
      @PlanetPatrick  2 года назад +1

      We were lucky... the engineer was on the bridge and the plane was not yet empty by the time I had my GoPro in my hand.

    • @cedarkey
      @cedarkey 2 года назад

      @@PlanetPatrick ah fair enough. I’ll withdraw my claim that you delayed the whole crew going home to their beds in that case . 😂
