    Widebodies have to be my favorite... there's just something special about them. An a321 or 757 coming in is fine, but seeing that 787 or a350 will never be topped by one of those tiny planes. The a220s are pretty awesome though

    • @mehabox
      @mehabox 2 года назад +9

      If you fly even smaller regional jets like. CRJ or ERJ, the narrow bodies are giants in comparison. Especially the newer A321s with four toilets in the economy. Pretty comfy and enough space and facilities.
      I must fly a 747 at least once before they’re out of service everywhere. They’re GIGANTIC

    • @nate7906
      @nate7906 2 года назад +1

      I agree the a220 is awesome. Think wide bodies are quite cool it’s unfortunate most of them are so similar now:/ so many flights are the same old a330.

    • @astre7904
      @astre7904 2 года назад +1

      @@mehabox Fair enough, I do most of my flights on a319s and e190s, and even though a321s are pretty nice, nothing can compare to a widebody for me. Widebodies are also generally used on long haul routes and are much less common at my home airport, BOS, than a321s, and they are usually flown on less common airlines at the airport (Air France vs JetBlue).

    Hi Jeb, done this route a few times, it's always easy to get a local connection from UK regional airports to Dublin then connect. The pre-clearance is the main advantage and the fares are no more than direct from London. Aer Lingus have always been a friendly and very proud airline and even under IAG that seems to still hold true

  • @mwjohnson14
    @mwjohnson14 2 года назад +45

    I always use Aer Lingus when flying to the US - they offer a good service from regional airports in UK to Dublin and it’s easy to connect, plus the pre-clearance of Passport is a huge plus. Much more convenient than driving 2-3 hours to Heathrow or Gatwick from the Midlands.

    Preclearance is one of my favorite reasons to fly out of Dublin. It’s great to be able to get the customs clearance done there and fly in as a domestic flight. I also like how Aer Lingus usually boards from the back upwards, sometimes they don’t but it’s so nice when they do.

    • @wainber1
      @wainber1 3 месяца назад

      I wish more airlines would board from back to front although preclearance can be advantageous. On preclearance, few examples exist worldwide of clearance to enter one country or territory before even exiting another, with juxtaposed controls on trains and ferries that cross between Mainland Europe and the British Isles.

In his case, due to the weather conditions, it took longer. He was not complaining about the length of it per se, rather that it took longer than usual. But I definitely can't imagine how tired you guys must feel after hopping on very long flights to Europe or America. Wish Australia could like disappear and reappear somewhere in the middle of Atlantic haha.

    To be fair I’ve never flown a narrow body transatlantic but I think I’d prefer the wide bodies, bigger = more fun! Love finally seeing and AER LINGUS 🇮🇪 review!
    Hope you enjoyed it I can’t wait to try them!!
    Cheers 🥂 or should I say may the luck of the Irish be with you! 🍀

    Air Lingus is an amazing ride!!! Especially in Business class on a wide body airliner! It's great that you have enjoyed your flight and trip!
    Next time can you try flying and reviewing Frontier airlines so just I can get a vision of what's it's like on it if I use it to get to Denver in the future? That would be great! Thanks!

    My wife and I took this same plane/class from SFO-DUB in 2017 and we loved it. The seats are a little weird, but if you're in the middle with a partner it's fine.

    Jeb, after watching your Amtrak videos I have planned a trip with my son on the Texas Eagle the week before he starts kindergarten. He loves trains and as you said less dramatic scenery I agree kind of takes the pressure off to see it all and we will be able to enjoy the ride.
    On a side note have you ever thought about doing a cruise video? I’m particularly interested in Transatlantic crossings from New York to Southampton. I think it’s more your style to do a cruise for transportation rather than just a party.

    There are few things that have as positive an effect on me as hearing Irish accents welcoming me aboard, especially if I've been away for a while. It's like stepping off the rest of the world, and into Ireland.

    I usually go to the aer lingus lounge before emigration. I usually fly economy but my dad is a frequent flier as he goes to new Jersey with work an awful lot. So I usually go to the business room with him. I went last week and it was lovely and quiet. The seats were comfortable and I was able to charge my phone. There is little snacks that are great to bring in the plane with you. I love their pretzels and biscuits.

    I love traveling in business to and from Europe. I'll be on the DUB to LAX flight in November and I'm really excited. I have to admit that I've watched this video several times now because I cannot wait to try this airline! I'm flying into Edinburgh on Finnair and home from Dublin on Are Lingus. I am going to attempt a 2-week trip in the fall with just a carry on and small backpack - one thing I do wish is that the requirements for the small bag weren't so small on Aer Lingus. My travel backpack is 16" tall and my carry-on is 20". Unfortunately, their small-bag height limit is 10 inches so I can't keep both. Since it's a direct flight, however, I'll likely check in the 20" bag without too much fear of getting it lost. Still, I was hoping to avoid that baggage carousel at Tom Bradley. The Finnair in-bound flight has a connection, but the carry-on allowance will be enough so that I can keep both bags on me. Anyhow, I am bursting with anticipation at this trip. For me, the vacation starts the minute I set foot in the airport so being early and enjoying the lounges is a big plus and reason that I tend to fly in business a lot. Thanks for the video - oh, and I booked the other "throne seat", 5K, based on your advice. It's going to be a great flight!
