Girl I don't know why anyone would say anything negative about black womens natural hair. I have ALWAYS thought black womens hair is so beautiful especially when it's curly!! Honestly white hair is boring!!! I hope that didn't come across rude!!
Who cares what people say about kinky/curly hair on black women? I think natural hair on a black woman is very pretty and natural hair is versatile. Black women can wear their hair curly, kinky, straight, braids and in Afros and I think natural hair is poppin.
MsBrooklyn11232 It matters because people are conditioned to hide themselves and essentially damage their tresses to assimilate because of other people's opinions. And let's take it a step further, men and women with locs have to self employ or be overqualified for jobs because of the opinions tied to that hairstyle. It may seem like one of those "brush it off" topics but it's deeper than that. Guess who's watching all this assimilation and shame when it comes to Black hair? Little girls and boys
It's sad that a black woman's hair is so scrutinized. Anyway I'm glad Tamera educated the audience on why a lot black women wear weaves and wigs. Most of the time it is to protect our own hair and change up our style.
the less manipulation your hair experiences the better for it. (braids, wigs, weave, etc. are all protective), it protects from breakage and damage especialy in the winter, and when your hair rubs on clothes that can even cause split ends. And unless you have kinky curly black hair (loose waves and ringlets dont count) then your opinion on what black women should do with their hair is NOT NEEDED. And as far as "straight" hair goes, for centuries we have been forced to conform to eurocentric beauty standards by assimilation. This topic is not as simple as "pretending to be someone you're not".
Tamanda Itaye yes i know they do but majority of black girls wear weave all the time. You using the word protective that would be for a period of time that's fine but I'm talking about the vast majority of people that can't leave the house without a wig or hair hat on top of their head. I've never worn a with a weave or a wig and my hair is well taken care of and very long so it's just an excuse people use because of their own insecurities. Let's just be real
I agree with you love. I mean my shampoo and conditioner is definitely not $2 because I have virgin hair and like to treat it like royalty lol. But I do agree that sooo much effort is put into curly hair and it is far from messy. My nieces and nephews are half black and I’m utterly in love with their hair. I can’t believe ANYONE would consider curly hair to be messy. I had long hair down to my butt and cut it shoulder length because I wanted to grow it back healthy and my sister in law and other of their family members would ask me why I cut my hair. And I just thought to myself, I am NOT my hair.
My supervisor(She's white) last year saw me with my natural curly hair. So the next week I came in to work and I had my hair straightened. She actually told a co worker that I need to keep my hair straightened. So I didn't say anything but you know what I did? I kept wearing my natural curly hair because i think it's beautiful.
People who say black women shouldn't care what others say clearly have never been employed black women. When your livelihood is violated because of your natural hair it's hard not to care.
That comment kinda upset me. You shouldn’t have to change for anybody. Yes it may stir up an issue but it’s an issue they shouldn’t have, so you can’t be concerned about that. That’s their problem. You be you.
This study doesn't surprise me at all!! Any African-American should be able to see those subtle signs, that we (including our hair) are seen as less attractive and our look is seen as distasteful. HOWEVER, that is NOT our problem!
WELL i was mistaken for a "black panther" not long ago. This white lady was following me around the store sneaking pics, another lady let me know. I confronted her very calm and nicely. Y'all this lady RAN and she screamed for help😑😑 lied and said I grabbed her by her throat... police came immediately put me in handcuffs wouldn't listen to me, until I told the store manager to play the recordings from the cameras. showed her following me around for 30mins😑 and me not touching her at all!
Brii Alise ??? What the hell is wrong with people? I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm so tired of these racist people playing the victim as soon as they get called out 😒.
Brii Alise I'm so sorry you had to deal with this but I just can't stop laughing at this ignorant bitch lmfao!!! I can't imagine following a white woman for half an hour and taking pics like I'm a secret spy or something because her hair is blonde and straight😭😭😭😭😂 Maaaan this woman is so stupid😂 P.s your hair is POPPIN GIRL!! Damn you're my new "hair goals" lol🙌🏿💙
I love how the police automatically assume white people are in the right and anything else especially black is always in the wrong. That's how this white police officer got blown away by another white man in my city not too long ago. there was a call saying he was white and armed and dangerous... yet he approaches the man without his weapon and the armed white man shot him down. If it was a black man the policeman would have been ready for WW3 before he got out his vehicle.😒
My husband drives uber and lyft and yesterday someone left him a review saying his dredlocs where "disgusting". People are so amazingly ignorant these days and have such a hard time excepting anything they are not used to. My husbands dreads are beautiful and I retwist them so his hair is always looking nice. It's really is so sad when you think differently about people because of the type of HAIR you have!!!!! HAIR! Something that you have no choice on how it grows out of your roots or how you chose to style it! Smh it's sickening and not in the good way
Sherrell Tucker Tell your husband to ignore ignorance. People can be very judgmental. They forget that just as they're looking at someone, someone is looking at them. That person may see something about them that they don't like. People need to mind they're business.
Hi! ❤️❤️ If you are interested in helping a brand new channel that started a few days ago out, please check mine out! ^^ and subscribe! ❤️❤️ and yes! I love that feeling of together and comradely. Like an unspoken "I see you, boo!"
I honestly think deep down insecure people are jealousy of black women with natural hair. Our hair is exotic, versatile, and just down right beautiful!!!
JessAmy145 your opinion doesn't matter, good or bad. it's not an insult to you, it just doesn't matter. we live in a society that prioritizes eurocentric aesthetics, and a lot of black women are working hard to undo the conditioning that afrocentric aesthetics aren't good enough. so even if you think black women's hair is gorgeous, or you think it's ugly, your opinion doesn't matter, and we don't want to hear it. if you are interested in just empowering your fellow women and their looks, that's honestly cool. but know that your opinion doesn't/shouldnt matter and be ok with that.
JessAmy145 I think you fail to see what we mean here. Why would you think that white women's opinion about our hair should even matter? It is incredibly stupid to make our hair a topic of discussion for you. I don't care about all white people not being the same. I don't go about thinking all white people are the same. What I want to know is why would you think your opinion about my hair matters?
I work in Corporate America and I wear my natural hair out. I can tell some of my coworkers are uncomfortable by my hair and I could care less. I learned to love my hair the way it is and I wont allow someone to make me feel weird about it.
Shae Lisa Jackson Corporate America has gotten better behaved over the years I'm going to guess because they've had one-to-many discrimination lawsuits but in some states like Florida where I live where they can fire at will wearing your natural hair can still be a huge risk I personally can care less about making my co-workers uncomfortable but it gets a little frustrating when you have multiple supervisors ask you to change your hair to something more professional and then in a couple of months you look up in your getting write-ups for trivial s*** and fired the second they have the opportunity to
That is so terrible I could never imagine being in an environment where other people are looked down upon because of their hair texture.... that’s insane!!!! God bless you sweetheart
I've worked in a white community as a batista and I wore my natural in all types of styles such as; mini twists, afros, braids and even twist outs. I even went to my interview with an updo. The people from that area always complimented me on my hair. They loved it. Black girls just embrace your hair and don't worry about what others say.
Rissa B yesss! I went to a nail salon one day, and a white woman complimented my hair. She said it was beautiful!! I have grown to love my natural hair!!
PREACHHH!!!! I have pin straight hair but girl I am OBSESSED with all kind of curly hair I literally watch hours of curly hair videos every week. My husband has curly hair so maybe I’ll be blessed to have babies with curls ❤️ (though I will love them either way of course)
Lonnie you talk a good story but no we can keep our here pretty all that stuff about light I should be bald no you have to take care of your hair all the time especially black women we tend to attend to dry out you have to find a way for yourself even if you have to have a beautician that you go to to help you how what do you think about Michelle Obama she had places to go things to do people to meet and I know at one time she had some pieces in her head oh she has some kind of beating or whatever but she has a good length hair Oprah had professional help her hair has flourished throughout the years don't tell young people you got to wear with it's a protective that's the light it's the Sun I will I have in the summertime of the straw hat to protect my hair but it's my hair I don't wear wigs I don't wear weaves I don't wear hair pieces you can wear a scarf you can wear a hat to protect your head I mean not on stage but you have to learn how to take care of your own hair
I hate that the lady in the middle said that that's why she has different wigs. As if changing your hair to please people is the answer. I believe that we should wear our hair proudly as strong, beautiful black women. They are the problem, not us.
Kerrisha Gibson yeah that sounds all fine and dandy until you need to make money to take care of your family. Eventually some black woman standing up for herself and saying no I'm not changing anything about myself May Spark a Revolution and I think it's already here because our hair has already been political and I see more and more natural sisters every day. I love it however no one wants to be the one to get sacrificed especially in the music industry because not subscribing to what the people cutting your checks want can make you get blacklisted and for a woman who's already had her career put on pause because of past incidents in her life I don't blame her for wanting to just make it easy by throwing on a wig. I lost two jobs for refusing to straighten my hair and take out braids which were called locs in my write up despite them clearly being braids and being neatly done at that. Even up till now I'm paying off debt that I fell into because I ended up jobless for a few months from refusing to straighten my hair or make it "more professional" which really just means less black to them. Part of me wants all black women to stand up and be unapologetically themselves but the other part of me totally understands that it isn't an easy task especially when there are people in control in this world who will politicize something even as small as hair and not accept it and make our actual livelihood too difficult to cope with.
As a white girl I think natural hair is beautiful, it looks so pretty and I think it is really cool! It's a blessing that people with natural hair have such gorgeous and different hair.
I love my natural hair and wear it proudly. It's so thick, bouncy and has a mind of its own. I wouldn't trade it for anything. How anyone else feels about it has nothing to do with me.
You don't have to always wear your natural hair to love it or speak on it. I wear weave half the year when I want a different style to prevent damage to my own hair that doesn't make me love my own any less. People love their naked bodies or should at least and still wear lingerie when they want something extra 😉
As a black woman with natural nappy hair, I love it.... We are the only people on this planet blessed with such different amazing hair that we can do so much with. Our hair is like art, no one else has hair that can do what ours can do without a ton of glue. Most of the people on this planet have the same straight hair, but not us. We are different in that and I love it, and it is funny how men of other races are chasing us down. White women may/may not found our hair sexy, but their men sure do. I make no apology for my amazing nappy hair, it is in all respect a masterpiece. Different is good
Traders Friend as a white woman, I want to say that what you just said is truly exactly how I feel in my heart too about your beautiful, unique, natural hair!! But at the same time I also want to not say anything, because honestly it doesn’t and shouldn’t matter what I think- or anyone else. You know you’re beautiful and perfectly made regardless, and I love you even more for that!!!! 💕💕
We are... that's why we are the most picked on lol:)! Nobody is bothered by someone who doesn't bother them. We bother the others for some reason! Let's keep hitting nerves ya'll!:)!
I totally agree that we should not conform! But because things are the way they are I do have REMY mindset just to get where I’m trying to go. It totally scares me, the fact She is a public figure and still afraid to embrace herself!
I understand protective styling but many black women always talk about how we should embrace our natural hair but we rarely see them rocking their own natural hair. I'm sure they take off their weaves at home but all the young people who they're talking to (telling them to embrace their natural hair and love it), these young people are watching them and are only seeing the straight weave/hair. As much as we'd like to believe that we CHOOSE to wear the straight look, and we CHOOSE to contour our nose to look straighter, we CHOOSE to brighten up our skin and wear blue contacts, etc, all of this is our minds unconsciously telling us what we think is more beautiful, and that is dangerous to our self-esteem in the long run.
Amen sis! I don't get the 'protective hairstyle thing'. Been natural over ten years and my hair is not damaged since I do not straighten it. Yes it is sometimes a time consuming task to do my hair but I do it because I was not born with straight hair. This is me. Take it or leave it. I feel like some people use the protective style as an excuse for their own insecurities.
do you know what bothers me? when i was younger every single time a girl had a make over the 'before' picture included her with curly hair and glasses and i guess that conditioned me into thinking that my curly hair was ugly
Yesss or in conditioner commercials where the before was frizzy and curly...I was like damn no amount of conditioner will make my hair straight like in the after pics...
Those 'Anthony Cuts' makeovers on ig bother me. Everytime the girl has curly hair in the before picture, she has straight hair in the after as though it's more beautiful
People should wear their hair however they please. Everything black people do seems to be scrutinized , when other races pick it up then its okay. I wear my hair natural because I like it and I like easy. For those who don't then that is fine for them. Its all about what you want and how you think you look. When all the white women have their noses done and all the other cosmetic surgery it is about how they look and what other people think, its no different. Women's looks in general are scrutinized too much, so a lot of women have low self esteem. We need to stop being so superficial and judgemental. I heard Adrienne on today's show shading fake baby hair , she said it looked terrible, stop it. It's a style like any other style, if you like it, wear it. Some white model or actress will pick it up and then people will have a different opinion. I think we all need to work on our inner selves and not be so hung up on the exterior . Women in general need to support each other and not be so critical of each others looks. We have worth beyond our looks. Sometimes it's hard to tell.
Hmm No negative comments about the girls yet... CHALLENGE FOR RUclips: let's have ONE video where we skip the hate, shade, and negativity. Just one! Let's do it!!!!
Sparkle and shine Cleaners erm black women do wear Afro wigs, have you ever seen a wig shop? It’s because a straight wig is easy to look after comparably and if you’re looking to protect your hair you don’t want extra work...lots of times you don’t have to straighten it all that often.. an Afro wig requires almost the same care as Afro hair duh!! 12 people on here just showed their racist cards. If black people didn’t have to interact with white people this wouldn’t happen. I wonder what the world would look like if white people didn’t inject this poison in the world.
@@chelseasimonevlogs you can use curling irons and straws to create an afro, and wigs. also its really difficult to create this sikly, bone straight texture when you have kinky curly, it always comes out more or less yaki
JackGeezy85 yesss. She was always so out spoken with topics like this. When that Rachel confused lady came on the show, she was the only one keeping it real
You have the right to wear your hair the way you want but can we be really honest here? Is it still "protective styling" if your hair is covered every single day, year in, year out and you never ever ever wear your hair out? And is it really necessary to wear the silkiest hair, and the silkiest frontals with the silkiest baby hair when our hair very clearly does not grow out of our scalps like that? I don't like the message it sends and it just doesn't look right imho. I get wanting to change it up every now and then but some people take it too far. With that being said, I will be making my first wig very soon but the texture of the hair is very close, almost identical to my own hair.
Yes, it's still protective styling. No one should have to wear their hair out if they don't want to. Only that person knows the reasons behind the hairstyles that they chose. For many of us, only having braids with wigs or weaves is what suits our lifestyle best. When I was younger all I wore were braids. Every two weeks I took them out and got it re-braided. Now all I've done these past few years were wear two strand twists with my own hair 100% of the time. I didn't love or hate my hair more then than I do now. I love it, and will never let a relaxer touch it now that it's my touch.
Court Ro Somehow I wasn't thinking of braids when I wrote this. I was more so thinking of wigs and weaves and literally covering up your hair year in, year out. I kind of agree with you (in the sense that your lifestyle doesn't always allow you to wear your hair a certain way) and then I kind of don't agree with you because the whole purpose of protective styling is to protect your hair while trying to grow it out etc. If you're wearing braids and wigs non stop and have no intentions whatsoever of wearing your hair out in the future then what are you protecting it for??
***** Yes but you're saying it gave her the break that her hair needed in order to bounce back so she wears hers for a purpose. What I'm talking about is people who say they protective style when that's literally all they do year in year out knowing damn well they have no intentions of wearing their hair out at one point.
I have thin straight hair so i am so envious of black women's hair whether its natural, curled, corn rolled, puffs, dreads, synthetic, yarn, human you name it i think it is so beautiful and wish that i would have been bless with hair like them. Even despite how it's supposedly hard to manage.
I am white and I have thick curly hair. When I divorced a couple years ago and started dating I would run across guys on dating apps that would straight out say "if you have curly hair, pass me up, I only date women with long straight hair." I thought what a jerk and oh well he's missing out. Then this past fall I cut my hair from a couple inches below my shoulders to right above my shoulders. It was so freeing because I could wash my hair and let it dry naturally. To not have to get up and blow dry and straighten my hair took off about 40 minutes of my getting ready time each morning. Plus, I love my hair curly. Then a really good male friend made a comment when I posted a pic of my new haircut on Facebook and said "that is youthful." He didn't say how cute or how pretty… I thought it was a little off for him, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Then around Christmas time I posted a picture taken Christmas Eve. My hair had grown about an inch and a half and I chose to wear it straight that evening. My friend then posted a comment of how gorgeous my hair was. Later on I texted him to ask why he thought my hair was so "gorgeous" that evening. His response was that it was so thick and full he just wanted to run his fingers through it. I asked him why he didn't say that when it was curly and he and said curly hair just doesn't give you that response. I told him that was stupid - that's how I felt. It's the same hair. It's on the same person. However, honestly until I watched this just now, i've been going back-and-forth on whether to get my hair redone the same way or let it grow back long. I like the curly and it's easy... i'm the same person either way and it's the same hair either way… I'm going back to curly!
Then you should date Ethiopian men, they love curly hair. LOL. But seriously, this curly hair vs straight hair thing is kind of new to me. I've always assumed that if you have thick and somewhat long hair, whether it's curly or straight, it's considered sexy. My hair is naturally curly and long, but whether i wear it curly or straight i've never gotten a negative comment from anyone about it. In fact, it seems like men prefer mine when it's curly. I remember when i got a new job i went to work with my hair straightened and when i went outside during lunch break it started raining, so when i came back from lunch my hair was curly because of the rain. All my coworkers, most of them men, told me they really liked it that way and that i should always wear my hair curly. All the guys i've dated have also told me they love my hair, curly or straight. I know that we all have different preferences when it comes to the kind of people we want to date, and there is nothing wrong with that, it's human nature, but i believe that the majority of men don't put that much emphasis on hair when choosing partners. Sometimes i hear men say they prefer women with long hair, but i've never encountered or heard a man say he doesn't date a woman with curly hair. If a man refused to date me because of my hair, to be honest, it wouldn't bother me at all because i know there are many other men who will... I will advise you to do what makes you happy. If wearing your hair curly makes you happy, then do it. If someone doesn't like it, so what. I'm sure you'll find many other men who will love and appreciate you just the way you are... A friend of mine sent me this quote which i like-- "In a society that profits from your self doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act."
I have naturally curly hair and I'm in 8th grade and I was forced to straighten my hair and I was taught that straight hair makes me look better and I believed that and everyone was telling me "oh my gosh where is your curly hair" "why did you straighten it" "go back to curly hair" and I did go back about 4-5 months later and let me tell you I got more compliments in one day with my curly hair then I did in 4-5 months with my straight hair and I've been wearing it natural for about 1-2 months and I still get compliments everyday :)
Such ignorance displayed by the Asian lady. The least she could have done is Google before leading this discussion. What the hell is natural hair vs smooth hair? Is smooth hair unnatural? Is African textured hair not smooth??
What wrong with that? Is natural hair smooth? No baby my hair is frizzy, curly, and textured. Nothing is smooth about the 4b hair on my head. You trynna find something to complain about?
I've been natural for over a decade now. I went natural in 2002. I went through a several phases with my hair. As a little girl, I was teased by other little black girls about my natural hair. I begged my mom for a relaxer in the second grade to stop the bullying. It didn't per-say, they just graduated grade school and then we moved to a new neighborhood which I had to switch schools for. Then in high school, I remember a girl cross examining me about my "new growth" as I wasn't getting my relaxed fast enough for her liking. Even though how I kept my hair wasn't any of her business and she wasn't even a friend of mine; she just had to be critical. I'll never understand why people pick on others out of their own low self-esteems. The beginning of my self-love, hair love journey came through the Neo-Soul music scene when everyone was bumping Lauryn Hill (who I still LOVE), Jilly from Philly, and Ms. Badu to name a few. Seeing these beautiful Black and unique ladies rock their God given hair gave me the courage to rock mine and I did a "big chop" like India Arie cutting off all of my dead chemically treated hair. Mind you... I had a lot of nay-sayers at first. I had a White co-worker ask me why my hair was so nappy, and man tell me a woman doesn't look soft without long "flowy" hair down her back; although, using the the relaxers were giving me scabs and breaking my "length" off. Even my mom gave me grief at first until some years later she returned to her natural hair. I could share more stories from interviews to bad advice but I know this comment is already super long. Just know I am still natural; loving who I am and the beautiful natural hair God gave me!
Black women can have many hair types. I hate that there's a stereotype that black women can't have wavy hair or curly hair without being mixed. Like no you don't have to be mixed. And many black women have those hair types as well, as the stereotypical "nappy" coily more coarser hair. It's real though there is such thing as "good curls" and "bad curls" and it's disgusting because all hair is good hair. As long as it's healthy, then it's good!
Monique Smith THANK YOU. My moms hair is wavy and mine is curly. The only time its ever been close to the stereotypical coil was when I was trying out new products to help out my natural hair.
Hi! ❤️❤️ If you are interested in helping a brand new channel that started a few days ago out, please check mine out! ^^ and subscribe! ❤️❤️ lol I actually thought she was joking. Then I realized she was serious and died lol
Romano Timp I’m pretty sure she meant under the sun. Especially if our hair isn’t moisturized enough, it’ll become weak and break off, kinda like if we put too much heat on it
Thank you for having the guts to say this...as if all the other Black women who wear wigs are under the bright lights. So proud of Black women who wear their natural hair. Why would women of African descent need a wig to protect their hair from the sun?!
@@jmaysjr1 Because if you don't wear your hair in a FRO and are straightening it with heat or relaxers heat/sun does damage hair. If you're wearing braids, twists etc. then it doesn't matter that much.
I'm a bit baffled why people think that other people's hair is any of their business. And to ask a section of society what they think about the appearance of another section of society makes me feel sick. Personally (not that my opinion on the subject matters) I think WOC have beautiful hair but I try not to judge other women by their appearance but on the content of their character. I'm a woman who likes to build us up, not knock us down.
I'm from Spain and I have really thick, curly almost afro hair. All my life people laughed at my hair, boys called my ugly because of that and I had really low self esteem. Now I know it's part of me, you can like it or hate it but I love it because all my friends got straight hair and it makes me different. sorry for my english!
Don't think you're different thousand of people have hair like you it's normal. Humans have been having Kinky, coily and curly hair the longest just saying🍵
Spain is primarily a white country and as bad as it sounds for them to be judging you, almost anything that stands out from the "majority race" will be judged. How you handle those judgments is up to you. Put those same white spanish ppl in a black country and they would be judged too. It works both ways. Best thing to do is to make your curly hair look really good and soon people will wish they had it. Get braids, dye it.. do cool styles to it. The thing is a lot of people with curly hair don't make use of all the different styles avaialble to them.. they just sit and complain about how they wish they had boring straight hair. I grew up in a majority white school and I wore braids almost all the time, a lot of the white girls in my school wanted to get their hair braided by me and I became somewhat of a trend setter in that regard and they always wanted to play with my hair. This was way before the days where this whole "cultural approrpiation" movement came in and whites can wear braids without any issue. I feel like the world took two steps back in terms of accepting cultural differences.
I understand where Loni came from. I worked with a lot of black women on a day to day basis & we would get to talking about our hair. They would come up to me with questions like how I had to take care of it, did it get oily fast, treatments, all that stuff. Which was fine because I would ask them the same questions and it was simply people who wanted to learn from one another. But there were times when they would touch my hair without asking & I would think, "okay, I don't go around touching YOUR hair, why are you touching mine?" - simply because my hair gets very oily when it's touched a lot & if people got oils on their hands or lotion, then that gets into my hair. Questions are cool, learning is great, but please don't touch others without their consent! Thank you!
I find that hard to believe. Why would black women be asking a white woman about hair care when our hair is so different from yours? And why would they touch your hair? I have never in my life wanted to touch a white womans hair. Thats just really wierd
People are absolutely ridiculous. I LOVE my natural hair. Believe me, I didn't always love it. But I think it's so sexy especially that third and fourth day hair when it's voluminous and a little bit frizzy. Natural hair is bomb and I apologize on behalf on the ignorant people out there. LOVE YOURSELF.
Blonde white girl here: I’ve always envied the body and texture of curly or kinky hair. My hair is sad and flat. I think ANY hair that is cared for and styled is beautiful.
Honestly I have to say I'm going on my curly hair journey this year and I love my natural curls but I also think there is this stigma that people who don't wear their natural hair often don't love their natural hair... You guys that is called PROTECTIVE STYLING ! People want to protect their hair from chemicals and stuff like that so they can eventually wear their natural hair freely !
I'm glad they are talking about it. I wore my natural hair to work this week for the first time. I couldn't believe some of the comments I got - some people said my hair was nice, others said I looked like 'the help', a poodle and the wine bottle opener we have at the office. I think it's really ridiculous that we have to defend our hair almost.
When I started wearing my hair natural I started getting comments about me “getting a perm” and that it looked “messy”... but when I flat ironed it literally every day people made comments about me spending too much time on it. Notice my hair is only 3A curls so I can’t imagine what other women with type 4 curls go through when they are trying to transition. It takes time and is honestly a skill we should be able to put on a resume, taming natural hair is HARD
Am in malaysia and one day i sat in a salon n the hairdresser was a chinese lady and i took my scarf off and prepared for my hair trim and after she saw my curly hair she said I cant trim this type of hair and she moved to a person next to me and everyone else stare at me i looked so ridiculous and it was the most painful experiences ever because i had to awkwardly wear my hijab back and leave the place and after i did that and went out i cried like a baby! i was just horrified of how rude she was i understand if she is afraid she might trim my hair in a wrong way! but the way she immediately turn around to another customer was what made me feel so bad! so i came back to her n i thought her a lesson! she felt so bad and said sorry so i hope she won't treat someone else the same!
faisa Noah honestly I always wash and comb my hair, lotion my hair, put on a hat and THEN go to barber...it saves time and its easiyer for the barber and saver for me.
That's truly terrible and she handled that situation terribly but all in all take it from me be glad that she didn't trim your hair because I've had countless stylist tell me that they can trim all types of hair then I sit in their chair with my Afro they clearly look puzzled and start hacking away at my poor hair Knowing full well they don't know what they're doing then I end up with the uneven fro 4 weeks
Isi Ibelieveinmiracles I thought I was the only one that did this unless I'm willing to pay the extra for a natural hair stylist which I totally am it's just unfortunately the closest one I trust is two hours away I just go ahead wash deep condition and moisturize my own hair and try to stretch it so that is as straight as it can be for a trim
I'm a natural 4c hair type and love it! People's negative opinion are ignorant and don't bother me. I've come into my own with my hair and do get some positive comments. Thank you for sharing.
Even as a white girl with curly, people love to say my hair is “not as pretty”. It took me years to love my curls b/c I thought “straight was pretty”. Then after a BF told me I was less pretty w/ Curly hair, i finally learned to love it. Because f*ck my ex.
It's sad that this show has a good mix of races but no one seem to defend blackness or black struggle they always try to sound politically correct its so disappointing
Tamera as a black girl I grew up watching you and Tia on Sister Sister and always admired your curly hair. Then you straightened it and I was sad for a while but then because you guys were my idols I straightened mine at thirteen and it was the worst thing i could hvae done. It cause so much low self esteem for me for years with hair damage and that my hair could stay straight and beautiful bcz my mom didnt have money. Now a naturalista for a decade now in my thirties hearing you be truthful about your hair damage is empowering to me and I am glad you can be honest about it.
Honestly this has been my experience lol. My bf is white and he LOVES my hair, like if I even mention straightening it he's like "NO DON'T RUIN IT" Lmao.
Lee exactly! And damn girl u been around haven't you lol nothing wrong with that. They like straight hair because it's what their used to. They aren't used to nappy natural hair that we have. They're more afraid of it more than anything for some reason
R A it's a role according to race: Loni plays the loud personality black woman, Tamara plays the I'm innocent/Christianity/ mixed woman and the Latina girl well you just throw in a few twisted-speaking language when necessary for "the community"😁
Or she is just dumbfounded that people are still stupid. She doesn't deal with this so she's not aware of the struggles black women go throw... know why? Bc she's asian lol y'all better leave Jeannie alone!
Rae Love Interesting take Rae. The Latina is the hypersexual one too. I notice that. Jeannie is fake to me when it comes to stuff like this. She know good and well the relationship her people have with black women. Please!!
Ugh. They say all this...yet all of them are wearing straight hair. Its like preaching to someone about Jesus when youre wearing a hijab. I understand protective styling. I currently have some fleeky crochet box braids in at this very moment. But protective styling doesnt only come in straight wigs. You could wear an afro wig, or 3a-c wigs, or kinky/curly extensions. And they brushed on it, but didnt really speak about the fact that different textures of hair are appreciated more than others. Tamera, like Tracee Ellis Ross, still can get booked with curly hair. Other than sister sister, most people know her for her hair. Loni couldnt get booked. Why? Because of the fact that Tameras mixedness and ambiguity (in both her hair and skin color) is preferred over Lonis unmistakable (and beautiful) blackness in the white supremacist society of which we live. I know it might be difficult, and maybe even hurtful, to express the way that society rejects you...but thats the point. You open the dialogue so that others (me and the MAJORITY of other black women who have kinky and not curly hair) can relate and so other people can open their eyes to the disparities. Just my two cents
Cassie Casimir preaching about jesus and wearing a headscarf?? what's wrong with that? Muslims belive in jesus and his mother wore a headscarf as well. I get what your saying but wrong example.
Cassie Casimir So because they're black they HAVE to rock curly/frizzy hair. Why do they have to be put into a box? That's wrong. When a black woman does it its bad yet when a White/ Spanish girl with curls straightens their hair you wouldn't say anything.
25MKool, I agree that just because they're black, they don't have to rock curly/frizzy hair...but the point of the discussion is that curly/frizzy hair is looked down upon, even amongst black people. The flack I got from my mother-in-law alone when I started growing my locs was very surprising because she feels the creamy crack look is much more presentable and yes...prettier. The issue isn't about whether or not black women should be able to rock whatever style they want...the issue is how society perceives the ones that choose to wear what God gave them.
Neghie Thervil I totally get that, but my remark was not a standalone comment, it was a response to the initial comment which said "They say all this, yet all of them have straight hair". There's an issue in that comment alone that I wanted to point out. I understand the bigger picture and everything you're saying. But I don't think degrading and putting down other black women for their hair choices is the healthiest way to do that; hence my reply to the original comment.
This comment is really stupid. You. Dont. Have. To. Wear. Natural. Hair. To. Speak. Out. On. It. Or. Love. It. Lol yall need to stop telling black women that we need to always wear our natural hair. Let us do what we want. It's none of your concern.
I love that your talking about this because I wanted a answer for it. I watch sister/sister and it was amazing but at the beginning you guys had your Curly hair and that was the thing I love the most but then it when from curly to straight hair. I was furious because I didn't understand why. I stopped watching it for like two weeks before I continue because i was mad. I needed to wrap my head around why but I honestly love it. You guys did amazing in it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
SMH, only in America...Love my Caribbean, free to be me without judgement. Let some white woman come to MY country & tell me they don't like my natural hair...o wait, haha, could never happen. Black women have, hands down, the most versatile hair & I am so in love with it. I love my natural hair, I love my melanin & I love me. #blackgirlmagic #carribbeanqueen
+Zoe Sunflower while there is some truth to that, I was raised in JA and long hair was praised period. The most popular girl in school had long natural hair usually styled in twists.
Woo, JA...JA has issues period. The whole skin bleaching movement & such...Again, I can only speak about my experiences. I wasn't rich nor did i have long twists, but I was the head girl of my school & the top performer. The girls with long hair were not, so everyone's experiences are different.
+Jo Adams True but it is only a *certain type* of people that do bleach. That's great that you were head girl (the head girl at my high school was coolie) and I know is not only the long haired girl that's smart or whatever. I was just making the point that just cos you were coolie doesn't mean you were automatically praised. The coolie girl in with 'good' hair was notoriously the dunce in my grade 6 class and not respected that much. Our experiences are different...even still I do miss JA.
Went natural 4 years ago, couldn't be more in love with it and I feel prettier with my own curls makes my features pop. Yes 4c (the thickest tightest curl) is hard work but it is so beautiful. Wigs help for a break and Winter protection.
Go NATURAL! Weaves cause damage and breakage to your natural hair, and if left on too long they develop a smell.. I'm Latina and black, and my aunties tried to relax my hair once and it burned my scalp. I've accepted the fact that my hair is curly, and there's nothing wrong with that. Embrace your hair... :0)
I thought Loni said she looked like a 'tree monster' without her wigs and weaves........ make up your mind. I believe that once natural hair is properly cared for and styled there is nothing wrong with it.
As a young black woman, I want to learn how to embrace and care for my natural hair so I can teach my future daughters how to do the same. I wouldn’t want my daughters to feel insecure and become misinformed about their hair they were blessed with.
In this video they are not real! Tamera and Loni we all know why u guys wear wigs! its not because u want to protect ur hair its because u want to be accepted!
faisa Noah yes , i'm now starting to feel like this "protective style" statement is just an excuse. why the protective style always gotta be straight? i thought y'all wanna "switch it up?"
yeah exactly they can even use afro wig! why does it has to be straight hair or indian hair wigs! and even Tamera said people found curly hair as cute and not sexy so i think thats why she doesn't show her natural hair because she wants to be perceived as something else!!
Ana Muslimah yes because you know that for sure please shut up majority of black women who do have natural hair under their weaves do so to protect their natural hair if I want to wear a straight style I'm not going to heat damage my hair I'm going to wear a weave if I want red blue or blonde hair I'm not about to bleach and dye my own natural hair I'm going to wear a weave if it's cold as f*** outside and I don't have the possible time in my life too wet my hair which will make me sick then add a cream and oil to my hair every single morning before I go out and every single evening when I come back home I'm going to put on a weave hell if it's spring break and I'm going on vacation and I know I'm about to be in the pool or the beach and I'm going to have to wash my hair every single day and I don't have the time nor do I want to spend the time on restyling my hair every single day while I'm trying to enjoy my vacation which will take up at least 2 hours as thick as my main is I'm going to throw in a weave. Stop pretending like you get to speak for all black women they already explained that of course straighter hair is more acceptable and they have dealt with that in their careers but both women have natural hair and do wear it time to time by the way but when you're living A busy life it's far easier and much safer on your own hair to just wear weave
CJ why? she didn't even say anything in this loool i had to go back. but yesss, she been annoying lately too. since that video on the "whites only" "colored only" door.
I'm quite late and there is the possibility that you are no longer natural. But, let us both pretend I wrote this message a year ago either way. I'm so happy for you. May it continue, to grow...beautiful, strong, and healthy. ♥♥♥
I don't give a damn what people have to say about OUR natural hair.

MsBrooklyn11232 🙌❤️💯
MsBrooklyn11232 thanks. been natural for 4.5yrs now. everything is a big deal in America
Exactly
@ Ms Brooklyn 11232 That was so sweet of you to say;) God Bless.
It's sad that a black woman's hair is so scrutinized. Anyway I'm glad Tamera educated the audience on why a lot black women wear weaves and wigs. Most of the time it is to protect our own hair and change up our style.
I am not my hair
Empressive protect from what? i dont get it it's an excuse to look like someone there not.
Tamanda Itaye it's just sad many women aren't happy being themselves.
the less manipulation your hair experiences the better for it.
White girl: $2 herbal essences shampoo & conditioner pack, brushes hair, puts in rubber band - "done"
Black girl: $40 shampoo, $55 conditioner, hair masque, olive oil, argan oil, style pudding, serum, mousse, 1 hr of twisting individual sections, extra oil on roots, satin sleep cap/ pillowcase, 8 hrs of sleep, 20 minutes undoing/combing through twists, 10 minutes to apply extra product - "messy"
You betta preach sis !
Alana Kahiapo I wish my shampoo and conditioner was $2
Alana Kahiapo so true
This makes me want to do a big chop, this is so stressful lol.
I kept wearing my natural curly hair because i think it's beautiful.
as you should.

I strongly disagree with Remy. Black women don't need 50 pairs of wigs to make other races feel more comfortable.
True!
They dont need them but they sure spend a lot of money undoing their natural look to have hair like????
She sounded stupid. Loni was twitching in her chair, lol!

You telling me with that stupid comment
People who say black women shouldn't care what others say clearly have never been employed black women. When your livelihood is violated because of your natural hair it's hard not to care.

I personally believe that If the hair that grows from your scalp is clean, healthy, and well-groomed, you have good hair.

That comment kinda upset me. You shouldn’t have to change for anybody. Yes it may stir up an issue but it’s an issue they shouldn’t have, so you can’t be concerned about that. That’s their problem. You be you.
Redbon e your comment is all over the place

This study doesn't surprise me at all!! Any African-American should be able to see those subtle signs, that we (including our hair) are seen as less attractive and our look is seen as distasteful. HOWEVER, that is NOT our problem!
Me neither Israel!
WELL i was mistaken for a "black panther" not long ago. This white lady was following me around the store sneaking pics, another lady let me know. I confronted her very calm and nicely. Y'all this lady RAN and she screamed for help😑😑 lied and said I grabbed her by her throat... police came immediately put me in handcuffs wouldn't listen to me, until I told the store manager to play the recordings from the cameras. showed her following me around for 30mins😑 and me not touching her at all!
oh she called me a racist black panther several times😑
Brii Alise ??? What the hell is wrong with people? I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm so tired of these racist people playing the victim as soon as they get called out 😒.
Brii Alise I'm so sorry you had to deal with this but I just can't stop laughing at this ignorant bitch lmfao!!! I can't imagine following a white woman for half an hour and taking pics like I'm a secret spy or something because her hair is blonde and straight😭😭😭😭😂 Maaaan this woman is so stupid😂
P.s your hair is POPPIN GIRL!! Damn you're my new "hair goals" lol🙌🏿💙
Brii Alise i died @ "ran & screamed for help" ...damn , i swear everybody that's nottt black annoying to me. 😭

Ehh what?! I’m Caucasian white British and I love it when black women wear their hair natural!!

I honestly think deep down insecure people are jealousy of black women with natural hair. Our hair is exotic, versatile, and just down right beautiful!!!
Exactly!!! Our beauty is always so offensive to others
Who the hell ask white women their opinion on black women's hair? That was ridiculous.
JessAmy145 your opinion on a black woman's hair isn't needed
JessAmy145 So will you like black women's opinion on your skin colour?
JessAmy145 I think you fail to see what we mean here. Why would you think that white women's opinion about our hair should even matter? It is incredibly stupid to make our hair a topic of discussion for you. I don't care about all white people not being the same. I don't go about thinking all white people are the same. What I want to know is why would you think your opinion about my hair matters?
JessAmy145 Lol we just don't care about your opinions on our hair for multiples reasons ✌😂
I work in Corporate America and I wear my natural hair out. I can tell some of my coworkers are uncomfortable by my hair and I could care less. I learned to love my hair the way it is and I wont allow someone to make me feel weird about it.
Shae Lisa Jackson Corporate America has gotten better behaved over the years I'm going to guess because they've had one-to-many discrimination lawsuits but in some states like Florida where I live where they can fire at will wearing your natural hair can still be a huge risk I personally can care less about making my co-workers uncomfortable but it gets a little frustrating when you have multiple supervisors ask you to change your hair to something more professional and then in a couple of months you look up in your getting write-ups for trivial s*** and fired the second they have the opportunity to
Shae Lisa Jackson smh, why are people so bothered?
@Shae Lisa Jackson you are gorgeous! For the life of me I can't understand why people always have to bring each other down.

key des unless you are interested in pursuing a white woman you shouldn't care...😂
Ritza Herrera it does not matter if your pursuing them or not, nobody likes to be judged on their natural hair probably not even you.
True! I thought that was weird also. Someone whose never been in a black womans shoes to experience her hair really has no say, lets be clear.
I’m so happy people are going natural nowadays it’s honestly a beautiful thing
They not going natural because they don't like themselves
I've worked in a white community as a batista and I wore my natural in all types of styles such as; mini twists, afros, braids and even twist outs. I even went to my interview with an updo. The people from that area always complimented me on my hair. They loved it. Black girls just embrace your hair and don't worry about what others say.
Rissa B yesss! I went to a nail salon one day, and a white woman complimented my hair. She said it was beautiful!! I have grown to love my natural hair!!
Exactly, if someone doesn't wanna hire me because of my hair, then I don't wanna work for them anyway!
PREACHHH!!!! I have pin straight hair but girl I am OBSESSED with all kind of curly hair I literally watch hours of curly hair videos every week. My husband has curly hair so maybe I’ll be blessed to have babies with curls ❤️ (though I will love them either way of course)

You don't have to always wear your natural hair to love it or speak on it. I wear weave half the year when I want a different style to prevent damage to my own hair that doesn't make me love my own any less. People love their naked bodies or should at least and still wear lingerie when they want something extra 😉
Not really. You dont have to wear natural hair to speak out on it or love it. Mind your own damn business.

I loooove it! Afro, twist out, wash n go. I think it’s amazing
I disagree with Remi. That's a sense of conforming and we really need to stop conforming to what white ppl want to make them feel comfortable.
Anisha Renee she completely missed the mark. She basically supported the bias talking such foolishness.
Thank you. Period
Some of us are really brainwashed like that. Case and point:every word Remi spoke.
It sounded to me like she was saying she'd purposely wear what the people she's around wouldnt expect to see or look like themselves
I totally agree that we should not conform! But because things are the way they are I do have REMY mindset just to get where I’m trying to go. It totally scares me, the fact She is a public figure and still afraid to embrace herself!
ughhh am i the only one who does not like it when they speak on political/social issues and only scratch the surface???
Remy ma didn't know what she was talking about
I understand protective styling but many black women always talk about how we should embrace our natural hair but we rarely see them rocking their own natural hair.
Aqua Mina mind your business
@@Tarapope34 ...as a black woman, this is her business..smh
Tamara wears her natural hair all the time.
Michelle Chal oh wow, I never thought like that...🤔🤔 good point!
like in princess diaries, so annoying. all she needed was a little leave in conditioner!
Yesss or in conditioner commercials where the before was frizzy and curly...I was like damn no amount of conditioner will make my hair straight like in the after pics...
EllaBelle18 OMG that was the first Movie I thought of when I read the original comment lol
Everything everyone does is scrutinized. Some certainly have it worse. In general, the scrutinizing needs to chill out.
They were afro wigs and it's cool lolol
U spoke that!
I big chopped this past July and it was the best decision I ever made! Natural hair is the way to go!

If they are protecting their hair from lights and heat, why silky wigs? Why not Afro-textured wigs?
Sparkle and shine Cleaners erm black women do wear Afro wigs, have you ever seen a wig shop? It’s because a straight wig is easy to look after comparably and if you’re looking to protect your hair you don’t want extra work...lots of times you don’t have to straighten it all that often.. an Afro wig requires almost the same care as Afro hair duh!!
12 people on here just showed their racist cards.
If black people didn’t have to interact with white people this wouldn’t happen.
I wonder what the world would look like if white people didn’t inject this poison in the world.
Sparkle and shine Cleaners because natural Afros can also be straightened. It’s naturally straight hair that can’t Afro
@@chelseasimonevlogs you can use curling irons and straws to create an afro, and wigs. also its really difficult to create this sikly, bone straight texture when you have kinky curly, it always comes out more or less yaki
It's to switch up your looks a bit

I agree with you, sometimes that is used as a cover and some women just don't want to admit they prefer the silky strait hair.
***** Exactly. And if you prefer silky straight hair why not go for a more kinky texture? One that resembles relaxed or flat ironed kinky hair.
Even despite how it's supposedly hard to manage.
jeni150023 oh it's hard alright
A friend of mine sent me this quote which i like--
"In a society that profits from your self doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act."

50 wigs, changing them for people im not doing that for anyone.
As long as it's healthy, then it's good!
lwaat akol Not all hun. I've seen some with kinky hair like 4c. But there hair was still beautiful
Monique Smith THANK YOU. My moms hair is wavy and mine is curly. The only time its ever been close to the stereotypical coil was when I was trying out new products to help out my natural hair.
What a lame excuse Loni. Wearing wigs because of the lighting in the studio?!😂

I thought so too. They're both ashamed of their natural hair.
And we're yet to see them wear their natural hair on the show 🐸☕️
Safa Loni and Tamera have shown their hair on their IGs and Tamera on the show every now and then
solstice. Tamera may have a few times, but in general, natural hair is not demonstrated much.
Afia Griffith Has Loni worn her hair naturally on the show though? She hasn't

Safa Tamera wears her real hair all the time
I'm from Spain and I have really thick, curly almost afro hair. All my life people laughed at my hair, boys called my ugly because of that and I had really low self esteem. Now I know it's part of me, you can like it or hate it but I love it because all my friends got straight hair and it makes me different. sorry for my english!
Yeah Sorry for what you went through. we love you just the way you are💜💜💜
Don't think you're different thousand of people have hair like you it's normal. Humans have been having Kinky, coily and curly hair the longest just saying🍵
Rene G she meant among the people around her..
Thats just really wierd
honestly natural hair is gorgous. all that curl and volume is bomb af.
People are absolutely ridiculous. I LOVE my natural hair. Believe me, I didn't always love it.
Myronn Coleman I love this discussion because I've been on both sides of what you've just said.
Right! Because atm I’m waiting for my hair to grow so I can wear it in a full Afro. It’s not that a hate my curls, i love them so much.
Am in malaysia and one day i sat in a salon n the hairdresser was a chinese lady and i took my scarf off and prepared for my hair trim and after she saw my curly hair she said I cant trim this type of hair and she moved to a person next to me and everyone else stare at me i looked so ridiculous and it was the most painful experiences ever because i had to awkwardly wear my hijab back and leave the place and after i did that and went out i cried like a baby! i was just horrified of how rude she was i understand if she is afraid she might trim my hair in a wrong way! but the way she immediately turn around to another customer was what made me feel so bad! so i came back to her n i thought her a lesson! she felt so bad and said sorry so i hope she won't treat someone else the same!
but i always and sill go to salons and they don't have problem with my hair! people are different
faisa Noah honestly I always wash and comb my hair, lotion my hair, put on a hat and THEN go to barber...it saves time and its easiyer for the barber and saver for me.

Jeannie is so naive to not understand that racial bias still exists.
R A she keeps hoping that one day she'll wake up and everything will be nice and peachy like barney smh..she and Tamera are extremely naive

Black women have, hands down, the most versatile hair & I am so in love with it. I love my natural hair, I love my melanin & I love me. #blackgirlmagic #carribbeanqueen
Jo Adams I wouldn't say without judgement. Curly hair 'good hair' is still deemed more beautiful that kinky/coily hair here in the Caribbean.
Jo Adams For some reason when ppl say "only in America" or start bringing up irrelevant countries I always smell jealousy.
Are these the same white women in the study that called Tamar "ghetto" and uneducated? I just want to know. *sips tea*
In this video they are not real! Tamera and Loni we all know why u guys wear wigs! its not because u want to protect ur hair its because u want to be accepted!
faisa Noah sadly very true
faisa Noah yes , i'm now starting to feel like this "protective style" statement is just an excuse. why the protective style always gotta be straight? i thought y'all wanna "switch it up?"
yeah exactly they can even use afro wig! why does it has to be straight hair or indian hair wigs! and even Tamera said people found curly hair as cute and not sexy so i think thats why she doesn't show her natural hair because she wants to be perceived as something else!!
faisa Noah but they did wear their afros on the show before
Ana Muslimah yes because you know that for sure please shut up majority of black women who do have natural hair under their weaves do so to protect their natural hair if I want to wear a straight style I'm not going to heat damage my hair I'm going to wear a weave if I want red blue or blonde hair I'm not about to bleach and dye my own natural hair I'm going to wear a weave if it's cold as f*** outside and I don't have the possible time in my life too wet my hair which will make me sick then add a cream and oil to my hair every single morning before I go out and every single evening when I come back home I'm going to put on a weave hell if it's spring break and I'm going on vacation and I know I'm about to be in the pool or the beach and I'm going to have to wash my hair every single day and I don't have the time nor do I want to spend the time on restyling my hair every single day while I'm trying to enjoy my vacation which will take up at least 2 hours as thick as my main is I'm going to throw in a weave. Stop pretending like you get to speak for all black women they already explained that of course straighter hair is more acceptable and they have dealt with that in their careers but both women have natural hair and do wear it time to time by the way but when you're living A busy life it's far easier and much safer on your own hair to just wear weave
Lol Adrienne: “It grows straight out of their scalp.”
im afrolatino and growing up i hated my hair and now im letting it grow and love being natural😀👌 #curls #fro #benatural
just because someone is dark skin doesen't mean that their hair is 4c. look at the glamtwinz, maghony curls.
Yes this is true but EVERY hairtype should be accepted INCLUDING 4C
I am my HAIR! And super proud of being African. It carries the prayers of my ancestors 🙏
I love Adrienne but man she's been getting on my nerves lately 😭
CJ She's ignorant to a lot of the topics they discuss
U white? LOL!
Manda S there is nothing wrong with being white...
CJ why? she didn't even say anything in this loool i had to go back. but yesss, she been annoying lately too. since that video on the "whites only" "colored only" door.
Bethsaida Romelus someone said Yikes when asked if they were white, as if it were a bad thing.
How is something that NATURALLY comes out of YOUR head not for YOU??????
Arrionne Watson no everyone likes natural hair. I didn't so I have a relaxer

I'm quite late and there is the possibility that you are no longer natural. But, let us both pretend I wrote this message a year ago either way. I'm so happy for you. May it continue, to grow...beautiful, strong, and healthy. ♥♥♥
