Thank you for pointing out how manipulative Dumbledore's character really is. I was feeling so wretchedly wrong when I watch the whole Harry Potter series and read Philosopher's Stone. I was anxious for the sexual abuse that comes with Dumbledore's *grooming.* It was the only form of abuse that was not winked out by his creepy eyes. The rest of the child abuse and exploitation were ignored.
It would have made far more sense if the Qilin bowed in front of Jacob, not Dumbledore, since they'd previously made a big deal over Jacob being pure of heart.
That would have involved good writing though. Btw Is anyone else bothered by the fact that wizards are dressed exactly the same as muggles in these movies?!
But you’re missing the whole idea that the plot is about the beast that live within all of us not just the literal fantastic beasts. Besides it wouldn’t make sense for them to not address Grindelwald since during that time in the Wizarding world he would be on his rise to power and you can’t just have something as big as that happened and not have this be involved in some kind of way :-)
@@SuperMoviemaster21 I can see your view but to me that’s a cop out to the bait and switch going on. They could have an Indiana Jones wizard quest for beasts and Grindy could be the nazis but instead they are sacrificing the charm of the first movie in a clumsy attempt to get a new Voldemort antagonist Newt could be on his adventures and slowly learning of grindys lore as he meets new Wizards to build suspense but instead we get lowest common denominator stop bad guy films. Just my opinions but when I watch these films with family members who used to love Harry Potter I have to constantly answer their questions because nobody can really follow it anymore when the stories used to be simple like what is the chamber of secrets or where is the beast newt is looking for
And I get it's fantasy, but when you're in a specific time period and trying to make your books/movies about love and acceptance (which is funny considering), how do you completely leave out such a huge and devastating event? The excuse that it's for kids can't be used anymore, since most Potterheads are, at least, in their late 20s at this point and we've all learned about this stuff.
@@BooDotBoo what stuff, Dumbledore secret is set in 1932, this is one year before hitler becomes chancellor. This is before the Second World War, before the take over by the na zees
@@jimmymifsud1 yeah, but they also made the (horrible, offensive) decision of making Grindelwald predict WWII in the second movie. You would think that considering the amount of people that witnessed his precognition at the end of CoG, the wizard government would do something about it. Honestly the whole WWII thing is a mess that marks the franchise's downfall and shouldn't have been included
I think Jude Law is a great actor in other movies, but I don't get all the praise for his Dumbledore. As long as he keeps wearing those dapper suits, I could never see him as Dumbledore. I just see him as Jude Law in a suit.
As someone who grew up reading the Harry Potter books AS they released I am laughing so hard at the idea of Albus The Ends Justify The Means Dumbledore being called “pure of heart”
The funniest part is how much they promoted the movie in Brazil, because of Vicenza Santos (who's also played by a Brazillian actress), and in the actual movie, she barely has any lines.
Well they do that all the time it’s not just this movie it’s just how it is of which there would be a lot of if our retarded species would just learn to let go of money for God sake
@@sexydirrtymoney Question: in All of those times watching the movie how did your opinions change if any at all? And related to the subject, what do you think about her role in the movie despite the fact that like you said she only has one line?
@@SuperMoviemaster21 Overall, the movie could have been written / edited better but I think it's time for the franchise to get new writers / director to make it FRESH. On Vicenza Santos...WB should not have promoted too much on a role with one line 👀 She and the other candidate, a Chinese wizard seems like a diversity token to me!
They made the same mistake with this movie as the did with The Hobbit. Rather than a fun stand alone film that expanded the world of Harry Potter a bit, they muggled it up by trying to write a prequel saga. I mean, did we really need an origin story for the snake? I can say with almost certainty that we're going to see a young Tom Riddle before the end of movie 5. Really, I think they should have focused on the in series books, and based it on those. Fantastic Beasts got its movie. Quiddich through the Ages would be a sports story that follows the Wigtown Wanderers, and the author/fan that follows them. Tales of Beedle the Bard would be an anthology of the 5 stories, directed by 5 different directors, with the framing device of James and Lily telling their infant son a bedtime story. Maybe they could have stretched out the stories into a few standalone films to really milk it.
@@c.l.1820 The film or the book? The book is great. It sits at 304 pages and is pretty much a short standalone story about a young Bilbo Baggins. The ring he steals from Gollum doesn't exhibit any corrupting qualities. All that was added later in LotR. The film could have easily been a 2 parter, but they focused so much on adding elements from LotR that it padded out the length to 3 films.
Other franchises have also made this mistake of looking too far ahead into the future, planning a 5-movie multiverse and forgetting to focus on the present. Look at what happened to The Mummy reboot.
Maybe you should’ve tried re-watching it because I actually felt the same way towards Crimes of Grindelwald the first time I saw it and When I re-watched it not only do I understand it a lot more but I actually enjoy it almost more than the first fantastic beasts which is one of my favourite movies of all time :-)
I didn't need either of those channels to understand it it was very clear co me. Not that I didn't enjoy this recap especially the (Chillin) that is hilarious. And come on the purpose of pitch meetings is not to explain something it's to make fun of them that guy is a riot I did actually rewatch a video on movie flame on how crimes Of Grindelwald is not as bad as people say it is. The only hard part to fit in is McGonagall !
@@PaulZebraski McGonagle is not hard at all; I actually did research on this after Crimes of Grindelwald came out End it turns out that it’s all just fake and speculation/assumption when she was born it was never officially directly confirmed even on potter more. And therefore, that includes that she was actually older and was alive during this time period that she actually was because after all wizards live longer than Muggle Eh? :-)
This movie was most apparent in how it doesn't match magical canon. 1. Portkeys: They didn't need to touch the portkeys (most noticeable with the spinning portkey, they just had to be near it). Would have made Voldemort's job pretty easy if you just had to toss a portkey NEAR Harry lol. Also when Jacob and Eulalie arrived in the train it definitely looked like floo powder. Coming from the fireplace, green flame and yet Jacob is saying how he hates Portkeys. 2. Apparation: apparently you no longer need to turn on your heels to apparate 3. Wordless magic: apparently everyone can do wordless magic now. Even though Voldemort, one of the strongest dark wizards of all time, has to use words to cast his spells apparently everyone else in this film has skills far superior to his own. 4. Dumbledore and Aberforth blocked the Avada Kedavra? Really? Again can't tell if that was the spell since wordless but it was green and Dumbledore said Grindewald was trying to kill. Anyways, apparently if two people trying to protect hits an oncoming Avada Kedavra with their spells it negates it? How does that make sense? Just a bunch of nonense in this movie
1) and 2) you are over thinking the port keysAnd apparation, Especially the latter since they definitely did not turn on their heels in the Harry Potter movies either…… As well, I also believe that It’s been described in the box about them doing it at certain times as well. And for the former they did touch them And we’re just not near them 3) Voldemort has done wordless magic before and don’t forget pretty much all of these guys are professional wizards Who and other characters like them have also done Wordless magic in the previous movies and in the Harry Potter books and movies as well. Don’t forget they are highly trained professional wizards after all :-) 4) in case you haven’t noticed, credence was indeed affected by that spell which was nonetheless at least partially deflected hence why he didn’t die right away and was in the process of dying. Perhaps it could be some unexplained magic that’s never slashrarely been experienced before. Just because it hasn’t happened before the series even with it being a prequel doesn’t mean that it can’t be explained And or is even wrong let alone the fact that you don’t understand it also doesn’t mean that it’s wrong either eH?
@@SuperMoviemaster21 totally with the portkeys could have missed them touching it but to me it lookes like they just walked up to it before our suitcase scene. The book portkey at the banquet was also ambiguous since they didn't get sucked away upon touching the book pages but upon them touching eachothers hands? (Unless she had the book in her hands that I missed). Anyways it could be that since they expect us to be more familiar with the portkeys from Book 4 they didn't make the emphasis of everyone having to gather around and clasp the portkey tightly like they did with the shoe taking them to the Wizard's cup. I guess in short, at least in the case of the the portkeys, it seemed more stylistic which made it more ambiguous and took me a bit out of it. with 4 I must have missed that because I thought it was his obscurus illness that made him so much weaker at the end (as in it was exponentially getting worse and worse even within that short period at the end) and not that part of the Killing Curse made it to him. If it was only partially deflected that makes much more sense, I thought from the one viewing I had that it completely negated it which would seem to take away a lot of lethalness and mystique surrounding it.

Honestly, this series could have been amazing if they did it right... Lean into the fantastic beasts idea, have Newt and the gang established in the first movie come together to stop a group of Magical Poachers or a group that is searching for an ancient beast that would grant them unrivaled power. Even though the movies involve the animals in some capacity, they feel very sidelined when that the entire premise of the original and that's Newt's main thing... I feel like they tried too hard when they started connecting this directly to HP characters like Dumbledore. I remember when they name dropped Dumbledore and the fact that Newt was expelled from Hogwarts, it felt so cool. This is a new character for us, one who's come from a place we know, but is doing his own thing. It felt fresh, but they really dropped the ball. Maybe if the culmination of the series was going after Grindlewald, using beasts from all the movies and everyone coming together, it would have worked. But turning this into

I thought Mads Mikkelsen did a good job portraying Grindelwald. He actually reminded me of how Colin Ferrell portrayed Graves / Grindelwald. I understand on principle Depp should've been in the Secrets Of Dumbledore but honestly.... I didn't miss his presence. The film wasn't what I expected but I thought it was better than Crimes Of Grindelwald
@@toyang.. Weak excuse. The real reason is Rowling messed up her timeline ONCE AGAIN and the fans pointed out to her that it's impossible for Credence to be a brother because Albus' parents were already dead. They couldn't conceive someone as young as Credence. So Rowling did a retcon ONCE AGAIN and made him a nephew.
7:57 “but he’s there giving birth to a new fantastic beast” caught me off guard. A very interesting choice for the story, but it got the audience invested for sure lol.
I actually saw Mads and Jude more compatible than the pale white Johnny Depp (I love Depp btw) I liked it more than the second but that duel between Credance and Jude made no sense...did they go in another reality to avoid destroying the muggle world?
Yes! Borrowed mirror dimension from Dr. Strange! Lessens the stakes, IMO, and makes the fight less gripping =\ Member in Fantastic Beasts I when they literally blew out the side of a building + ripped up roads? Humph~
To be fair, I doubt that Johnny Depp was responsible for the hair and makeup used for Grindelwald. Well, the heterochromia was his idea; he's said that in interviews. The white hair and pallor seems to have been out of his wheelhouse.
From what I can gather. Dumbledore noticed Credence and basically put a glamour on him. Credence lost before the fight even started. Credence was fine in the first movie but they shouldn't have kept bringing him back.
@@waterywingz I think any Wizarding fights lessens the stakes when it comes to revealing the Wizarding World. Death will be there but seeing the destruction and constructing fear already lessen the stakes with MIB-esque memory wipes and government-esque cover ups with the means of magic. Pretty much it's the Wizarding World and Muggles just lived in it. When I think about it kinda lessens Grindlewald's and Voldemort's motivation to destroy them. Then again Muggles were destroying each other and bleeding the destruction to the Wizarding World.
This movie was okay. Better than Crimes of Grindelwald but still had some issues with story and plot concerns. Especially concerning contradictions with what has been set up before. It was a good movie in terms of trying to fix the mistakes of the second film and Madds was great as Grindelwald but the fantastic beast aspect of it is getting lost.
@@Ash-uf4fv Fair enough. I did only see it once so maybe I was so bored that day that this movie didn’t faze me as much. Though I don’t think I’ll watch it again. 13:50 That's what I've always thought! Dumbledore *says* he's sworn off personal power, yet as headmaster of Britain's magical school he has a hella lot of power. He was also head of the Wizengamot in book canon, and even yes, Supreme Mugwump! So the only position of power that Albus has consistently refused to take is head of the Ministry of Magic, which as portrayed in the books isn't all that powerful. Curious, isn't it?
The stake in the heart for this movie was Jacob being accused of being an assassin. How? How does anyone in this world imagine that a Muggle could use a wand, could attack Grindelwald with a storm, is any kind of threat to anyone?
I only really care about Jacob's Story and that preaty much ended in this movie, if they are going to continue the story I hope they leave him and Queeny out of it.
Well if you want to be able to give them the opportunity for that, then need to worry about more is people refusing to go and see #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore all because of her comments; I’d highly encourage and recommend everyone [please Encourage as many other people as you can as well please :-) See it as many times as they can in theaters, and even If possible, buy a ticket for it In place of going to see another movie so that way it still gets money without you actually having to see it multiple times. Buying as many merchandise directly related to it as possible will also truly help. Also remember that if you’re refusing to see it because of #JohnnyDeppIsMyGrindelwald Then please remember that this movie needs to do well so as to give Johnny the chance to actually come back in the Later movies, For the actor who played MacNair The executioner was re-casted for prisoner of Azkaban and then came back for order of the Phoenix. The bottom line is that if #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore Doesn’t do well, And they don’t make the remaining two movies, then Johnny definitely will never be back as Grindelwald!Plus you also have to remember that it’s about to be a new company with new people over seeing it, So as such you were technically not paying that company and are actually giving more of a chance than not having him actually return. Especially depending on what may happen with the results of his trial that’s going to be happening shortly after the movie comes out, the new people taking over Warner Bros. right before it comes out…… Also remember in regards to her that she doesn’t necessarily get a whole lot of money from this, as well the fact remains that as many people have pointed out that she already has so much money that not supporting the series will not really change any kind of “power“ that you may have against her, and after all the series should not suffer at all because of her for Regardless of what you may think, nothing I repeat nothing will ever ever truly take away what a series overall truly means to you let alone other people, And again it’s not The series that’s the problem at all in any kind of way :-) Also keep in mind that even though it’s not the best example they have at least one transgender person or someone who identifies themselves as “They” in the cast so much for her transphobia……
They promised us Fantastic beats and seeing the other wizard schools and instead we get a convoluted mess. Grindelwald should have been a two part movie and then the series could have moved on.
But if the series [Hopefully] continues then we may very well see the other Wizarding schools. It may be hard to follow but once you fully get it and understand it from Rewatching it/seeing it again then you’ll truly realize how interconnected it truly is; trust me I felt the exact same way towards crimes of Grindelwald when I first saw it but then when I re-watched it and I only understood it but I thoroughly enjoyed it I consider to be one of the best Wizarding World movies now :-) It does make sense for Grindelwald to be involved since he would’ve been rising to power the time and it would’ve made sense for him not be included since he’s a major player in the Wizarding world and it also helps relieve the series to the fantastic beasts that live within all of us because that’s what we all essentially are and who better to emphasize the fantastic beasts of humanity then someone like Grindelwald who would’ve been on the rise to power within this timeframe? :-)
@@SuperMoviemaster21 Eh I’ve already watched again and liked it less because the cool thing about voldy as a villain is you don’t see him in the beginning stories but instead see his affect on people. When he finally rises to power again it’s earned and then he’s in power for a bit causing terror. Grindy on the other hand is becoming like dr eggman where it’s almost Funny every time he gets foiled and there isn’t a suspense to his presence. He’s just bad because the movie tells you and there isn’t a tension to his growing ambition. I think there is a way to incorporate him but by less is more allowing newt and his beasts to have good standalone adventures without constantly forcing them together with grindy. The first movie works because it’s primarily a wizarding world building in America fish out of water story with grindy as a threat later. It could have been even more compelling if newt and grindy were friends or something but they aren’t earning him as antagonist in my opinion and it’s like desperate sequel franchise bait The Harry Potter books worked well because they are stand alone mystery novels that eventually became a wizard war saga later
something i appreciated about the last one is that for the tiny albus and gellert flashbacks they brought back the same actors that played them in the last harry potters flashbacks as well, like it had been years but I remembered it was them and I appreciated the continuity. i haven't seen this one yet, and I know they don't care about making sense with the worldbuilding so lets not think about that, but I wish the movies had the guts to not shy away from the relationship and actually show it, like show affection and actual scenes, not just cutable lines, but oh well. and I love that that "the secrets" are all things you know if you've read the books or know any basic thing lmao, I've seen short fan films online that did a better job of showing the story and expanding on facts we knew than just you know telling
Trust me there are a lot more secrets that they reveal in this movie that were not previously known from reading the box. And of course know that it’s not just about Albus but the whole Dumbledore family as a whole, including related to what Dumbledore does in the movie, the secrets to who he truly is. @@SuperMoviemaster21 Nothing is stopping you from watching this movie as many times as you want in the theater. If this is the best Warner Bros can do for a HP movie then it deserves to fail.
I will say that this series suffers so much from there not being a book. The Harry Potter movies had books that the viewer could read beforehand and fill in the gaps. A lot of things in the Phantastic Beasts movies do not really make sense in the already established universe but could in theory be established. But they aren't. My friends biggest gripe with this movie was that such a huge event like in the third movie had to have been mentioned somewhere in the original books. Also everyone (really everyone) being able to do wandless magic, the confusing floo powder/portkey thing, the election taking place in not Germany(?), Tina being slowly written out of the story, and so much more. Like, I could come up with some reasons for those plot ambiguities but those things should have had a book. That would at least lead to a much more streamlined story that could flow so much better.
Let's be honest, at this point, J.K. is just throwing whatever out there because Harry Potter fans will still eat it up. This series has no direction, at all. It's just going here and there. Which, I get is good because they can take it anywhere and include whatever they'd like, but also not good because it can go anywhere and the movies don't even really connect because there's no source material, no direction for it. If there is, it doesn't seem that clear to anyone watching, and it went off the rails with the second movie. I never even saw that one because of what I was hearing about it. This just seems to complicate it even more. Why couldn't we stick with him going around and studying and discovering creatures? That was fun and I was actually looking forward to seeing all the animals we'd heard mentioned in the books and in the Fantastic Beasts book.
The voiceless spells bothered me, because like you said, it is a difficult thing to do and now every one is doing it constantly???!! I love hearing the different spells! The scenes were cool, but could have been so much cooler.
I think a big problem of the series is every movie is about taking down Grindelwald instead of having newt and the gang go on these light hearted adventures and use the Grindelwald as the overshadowing plot until the very end idk just a thought
I will never understand how WB missed giving Yusuf a proper twist. In fact, I would never understand why that character existed in the first place since it didn’t move the original plan forward in any significant way. Mind boggling stuff.
I liked the first film cause Newt was the main character and it was mostly about you know, *The Beasts*. The others are just trash. Newt was fun and the beasts were cute and interesting
What's interesting about alot of reviews on the Secrets of Dumbledore is how some reviewers (not all), question a studios motive when they bring up politics which is interesting because the XMen animated cartoons in the early 90's centered around discrimination, politics, and the ways that both humans and mutants handled their individual experiences. The XMen series ran for about 10+ years with no complaints nor push back. I say all of that to say that the level of complexity of story writing, juggling each characters own ambitions, the human element, and the eventually war that is coming leaves me a little amazed that teenagers are able to get this story. The movies usually don't do the books justice so now I am curious to read thr prequel to the Harry Potter novels.
It didn’t run that long, but it returning this year or next. There are two shows after it, that had similar themes, but one reimagined everything into a public high school thing, and a Wolverine lead show, that’s just him trying to prep for the dystopian future of sentinels.
XMen was always an allegory to the civil rights movement tho, in the same way movies like Hunger Games or Civil War are bound to end up political. Harry Potter went from a moody and hilarious kid learning he’s a wizard, a trust fund baby and the Chosen One all while dealing with very concerning issues like a particular homework he’s in no way shape or form capable of doing without copying from his friend…. to whatever Fantastic Beasts is. That’s why is heavily criticized, cause any political element is shoehorned in for fake wokeness.
@@biazacha Harry Potter has always been about the politics of muggle and wizard relations, dark and light magic, pure blood vs. muggle born.! ESPECIALLY in the second half of the series.!

Watched the movie. So, Jacob was given a coreless wand by Dumbledore. That wand was most likely gotten at Olivander's. I'm to believe that Olivander made a wand from some tree and didn't give it a core? Olivander makes fake wands?
I guess I'm in the minority here, but I personally enjoyed this movie so much, it might actually be my favourite of the three FB movies so far! I loved the idea of the countersight plans, and how it weaved in and out of the main plot, and how Dumbledore's secret were met up with along the way. And the ending was so sweet and gave some nice finality, in a hopeful way.
10:05 "That bottle would be called 'tomorrow'." So true. Cracked me up! 🤣🤣😁😁 I guess the backstage team studied the history of this and probably figured out that this style of stopper was very popular during that era. I doubt they expect many people to notice. But that was a great joke, LME. :D
The thing is they were supposed to be confusing Grindlewald but ended up confusing the audience. Everything looked amazing but I was still scratching my head thinking BUT WHY????
I think the core problem of these movies is that JK Rowling is not a good screenplay writer. I mean everything's there, but it just doesnt gel into an actual good movie. BTW I actually really like Mads as Grindewald.
I actually love this movie, if not just for the first scene with Jude and Mads just doing superb acting together. I was so sad for them that Dumbledore and Grindlewald can't reconcile because Grindle has no remorse
I justed watched the movie some one explain why the bad guy at the end has the wand that Dumbledore will have eventually. How does that guy have and how does Dumbledore end up having it?
Look they've could have made it simple: Have Grindelwald want X amount of extremly rare beasts for some extreme form of magical spell that would allow him to, let's say, destroy all the boundaries between the wizard world and the muggle world in an instance (like all the spells that keep muggles from not noticing the magical places, Like DIagon alley, the Blacks family home etc etc etc.......) They could even have had them all in the dark about why he was looking for them. Credence would be the first, an obscuris, and then move on to others. That would have atleast had it make sence as to why Newt was so involved in this: Dumbledore knew he was the greatest zoologist in the world, because he trained him. But nooooo. They made one good film, then they lost track and now only want to do "Young Dumbledore" instead.
I just wanted to end on Credence and his dad sharing a meal over his moms portrait, I thought that was gonna be the whole fulfilling last scene... big upset
I hope you're not referring to the portrait of Ariana in the Hog's Head, or else Aberforth is no better than the Gaunts. In fact he'd be even worse lmao.

@@SuperMoviemaster21 I might re-watch it but I probably won’t go out of my way. There was some decent scenes especially when Dumbledore was talking about his sister which I found fascinating but that was about it. Genuinely hated this movie, the worst Harry Potter movie I’ve ever seen hands-down
I still think the first Fantastic beasts trumps its sequels but Secrets Of Dumbledore although its story-telling was weird, was full of subtle and unique lore drops that set up the events we know today, it confirmed Ariana was an Obscurial which we've been speculating for years! There is so much more, although the manner in which all these lore drops are dropped, either way, Info is Info, and i need more info.
The way I see the role of the chillin is that people understand with the creature does it doesn't choose the winner of the election but it can sway some voters.
I like the fact that you believe Dumbledore was speaking metaphorically when he said "Because I was in love with you." Dumbledore has always spoken in metaphors and riddles as we knew him in the original movies. He is not much different here.

If not Jacob at least Newt should be the one
That would have involved good writing though.
Btw Is anyone else bothered by the fact that wizards are dressed exactly the same as muggles in these movies?!
It was meant for Jacob and I got mad they did that to us with Dumbledore
@@tripp9278 Yes for which J.K had 3 movies worth of time to write and develop characters
But remember, they cannot have it bow to a Muggle EH?
The Fantastic beasts series should have been about saving animals not fixing dumbledores relationship trauma

Yeah and like visiting the other wizard schools, not just revisiting Hogwarts
But you’re missing the whole idea that the plot is about the beast that live within all of us not just the literal fantastic beasts. Besides it wouldn’t make sense for them to not address Grindelwald since during that time in the Wizarding world he would be on his rise to power and you can’t just have something as big as that happened and not have this be involved in some kind of way :-)
@@SuperMoviemaster21 I can see your view but to me that’s a cop out to the bait and switch going on. They could have an Indiana Jones wizard quest for beasts and Grindy could be the nazis but instead they are sacrificing the charm of the first movie in a clumsy attempt to get a new Voldemort antagonist
Newt could be on his adventures and slowly learning of grindys lore as he meets new Wizards to build suspense but instead we get lowest common denominator stop bad guy films.
Just my opinions but when I watch these films with family members who used to love Harry Potter I have to constantly answer their questions because nobody can really follow it anymore when the stories used to be simple like what is the chamber of secrets or where is the beast newt is looking for
What was Dumblebores secret I left learning nothing new!

And I get it's fantasy, but when you're in a specific time period and trying to make your books/movies about love and acceptance (which is funny considering), how do you completely leave out such a huge and devastating event?
The hobbit was perfect. What r u talking about.
@@c.l.1820 The film or the book? The book is great. It sits at 304 pages and is pretty much a short standalone story about a young Bilbo Baggins. The ring he steals from Gollum doesn't exhibit any corrupting qualities. All that was added later in LotR.
The film could have easily been a 2 parter, but they focused so much on adding elements from LotR that it padded out the length to 3 films.
i wouldn’t be surprised if warner did a tales of beedle the bard for hbo series
Wonder what they based it on...
Other franchises have also made this mistake of looking too far ahead into the future, planning a 5-movie multiverse and forgetting to focus on the present. Look at what happened to The Mummy reboot.
The fact that I was only able to understand this movie from Pitch Meetings and Let Me Explain should tell you how complicated the plot is.

@@SuperMoviemaster21 this gives me the same feeling Lumos in Prisoner of Azkaban gives me lmao
2. Apparation: apparently you no longer need to turn on your heels to apparate
And for the former they did touch them And we’re just not near them
3) Voldemort has done wordless magic before and don’t forget pretty much all of these guys are professional wizards Who and other characters like them have also done Wordless magic in the previous movies and in the Harry Potter books and movies as well. Don’t forget they are highly trained professional wizards after all :-)
4) in case you haven’t noticed, credence was indeed affected by that spell which was nonetheless at least partially deflected hence why he didn’t die right away and was in the process of dying.

@@SuperMoviemaster21 true! 😊
Re: avada kedavra, can it be like throwing a shield to someone who’s in line of incoming gun fire? Does that make sense?
But turning this into
“Hey can I ask you something.”
“Of course.”
“What the hell is going on.”
“Exactly.”
This perfectly sums up why I didn't like this movie lol
Me too, I honestly understood it more from Pitch Meetings and Let Me Explain!

They say that Creedence is his brother and then in the next movie it’s his nephew. They thought we wouldn’t notice… but we did.

Strange! Lessens the stakes, IMO, and makes the fight less gripping =\

@@waterywingz omg you are right! I wish it was explained because I was lost lol
Eh. This one was boring the previous one wasn't. I did appreciate the acting tho.
@@Ash-uf4fv Fair enough. I did only see it once so maybe I was so bored that day that this movie didn’t faze me as much. Though I don’t think I’ll watch it again. Second movie I saw it twice and still found issues with it, but in its defense it did have more fantastic beasts than this one did. Or maybe it just feels that way.
How? How does anyone in this world imagine that a Muggle could use a wand, could attack Grindelwald with a storm, is any kind of threat to anyone?
they didnt know he was a muggle
dumbledore was just practicing so he could perfectly manipulate harry for 7 (arguably all 17) years of his life

Especially depending on what may happen with the results of his trial that’s going to be happening shortly after the movie comes out, the new people taking over Warner Bros. right before it comes out……
Also remember in regards to her that she doesn’t necessarily get a whole lot of money from this, as well the fact remains that as many people have pointed out that she already has so much money that not supporting the series will not really change any kind of “power“ that you may have against her, and after all the series should not suffer at all because of her for Regardless of what you may think, nothing I repeat nothing will ever ever truly take away what a series overall truly means to you let alone other people, And again it’s not The series that’s the problem at all in any kind of way :-)
Also keep in mind that even though it’s not the best example they have at least one transgender person or someone who identifies themselves as “They” in the cast so much for her transphobia……
They promised us Fantastic beats and seeing the other wizard schools and instead we get a convoluted mess.
Grindelwald should have been a two part movie and then the series could have moved on.
But if the series [Hopefully] continues then we may very well see the other Wizarding schools. It may be hard to follow but once you fully get it and understand it from Rewatching it/seeing it again then you’ll truly realize how interconnected it truly is; trust me I felt the exact same way towards crimes of Grindelwald when I first saw it but then when I re-watched it and I only understood it but I thoroughly enjoyed it I consider to be one of the best Wizarding World movies now :-)
It does make sense for Grindelwald to be involved since he would’ve been rising to power the time and it would’ve made sense for him not be included since he’s a major player in the Wizarding world and it also helps relieve the series to the fantastic beasts that live within all of us because that’s what we all essentially are and who better to emphasize the fantastic beasts of humanity then someone like Grindelwald who would’ve been on the rise to power within this timeframe?
It could have been even more compelling if newt and grindy were friends or something but they aren’t earning him as antagonist in my opinion and it’s like desperate sequel franchise bait
The Harry Potter books worked well because they are stand alone mystery novels that eventually became a wizard war saga later
something i appreciated about the last one is that for the tiny albus and gellert flashbacks they brought back the same actors that played them in the last harry potters flashbacks as well, like it had been years but I remembered it was them and I appreciated the continuity. i haven't seen this one yet, and I know they don't care about making sense with the worldbuilding so lets not think about that, but I wish the movies had the guts to not shy away from the relationship and actually show it, like show affection and actual scenes, not just cutable lines, but oh well. and I love that that "the secrets" are all things you know if you've read the books or know any basic thing lmao, I've seen short fan films online that did a better job of showing the story and expanding on facts we knew than just you know telling
Trust me there are a lot more secrets that they reveal in this movie that were not previously known from reading the box. And of course know that it’s not just about Albus but the whole Dumbledore family as a whole, including related to what Dumbledore does in the movie, the secrets to who he truly is.
@@BooDotBoo I was the biggest Potterhead and I did not support this film, so she has managed to alienate even hardcore fans
The voiceless spells bothered me, because like you said, it is a difficult thing to do and now every one is doing it constantly???!! I love hearing the different spells!
The scenes were cool, but could have been so much cooler.
The Curse and Fantastic books are not books, they are movie scripts, so only good for the hearing impaired not for the curious for more depth.
2:30 that joke, wonderful
"I honestly wasn't expecting to see so many people transitioning on J.K's turf." I see what you did there
I thought the magic deer should have bowed before the normal guy Jacob because everyone kept saying he had heart and all that crap.
"They were on charmed. He was bewitched." I'm jealous of your genius.
I've been looking forward to this
These all encapsulating video about a series of movie or seasons of a show are always the best bro !
that joke about transitioning on JK's turf was perfection. Kudos
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Two Brief Two Cases
I can’t 😂
@@biazacha I wouldn’t say that. Where and what exactly is the fake woke Ness here?
@@biazacha “X-men was an allegory…”
Just stop, you’re 100% verifiably wrong lol
@@biazacha Harry Potter has always been about the politics of muggle and wizard relations, dark and light magic, pure blood vs. muggle born.! ESPECIALLY in the second half of the series.!
That American rejects reference was beautiful man!!! WOW XD
“Having illusions about his ✨Almost Lover✨” 🙋🏼♀️
I didn’t notice until this video that the woman that gets Jacob was in Flamel’s book in the last movie.
So glad you're doing this! I actually really enjoyed this movie
I thoroughly enjoyed this LME, thank you! 😎😂😍
I'm new to this channel and I'm verry impressed with your word choices at times, very smart.
I just watch this in the cinema 4 hours ago and I slept in the middle of it thanks for this 🤣
"bunty gets tina's lines" it's sad because it's true.
10:53 “did they just not see (n*z*) what was happening” lmao
It would have been way better to make fantastic beasts a Indiana Jones type movie series and then seperatly a movie series about Dumbledore&politics in the wizarding world
You explained the plot so well but I still have appsolutly no idea what's happening in any of these movies
Fantastic Beasts seems like a mess to just sit thru and watch. thank you
If you truly watch it and truly engage and think about it even if you may have to multiple times, once you truly get it not only will you understand it but you also enjoy it even if you’re not a major Harry Potter fan. Trust me I felt the same way towards Crimes of Grindelwald but then when I re-watched it again what I’m stating above actually happened, And With other movies as well which I’m sure you and others have probably experienced as well EH?
Watched the movie. So, Jacob was given a coreless wand by Dumbledore. That wand was most likely gotten at Olivander's. I'm to believe that Olivander made a wand from some tree and didn't give it a core? Olivander makes fake wands?
I actually liked this new one
I guess I'm in the minority here, but I personally enjoyed this movie so much, it might actually be my favourite of the three FB movies so far! I loved the idea of the countersight plans, and how it weaved in and out of the main plot, and how Dumbledore's secret were met up with along the way. And the ending was so sweet and gave some nice finality, in a hopeful way.
Harry Potter with wizards and witches are cool and all. But watching a English Steve Irwin with magical beast would have been cooler.
Your channel has grown so much since I started watching :')
The puns were top notch, you didn't even have to explain 😂
I’m not sure about the timeline tho
Based on Credence’s hair at least several years have passed after the previous movie
10:05 "That bottle would be called 'tomorrow'." So true. Cracked me up! 🤣🤣😁😁
I guess the backstage team studied the history of this and probably figured out that this style of stopper was very popular during that era. I doubt they expect many people to notice. But that was a great joke, LME. :D
I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice lally's accent change over the two films lmao
Thank you for making this video, I legit forgot we already had 2 movies before this. For months I thought this was the second movie 😂
Always on point with the puns as always 😆😆
The thing is they were supposed to be confusing Grindlewald but ended up confusing the audience. Everything looked amazing but I was still scratching my head thinking BUT WHY????
Can someone explain how does work elections in the wizarding world (how did wizards elect in the film?)?
I love this breakdown.
I think the core problem of these movies is that JK Rowling is not a good screenplay writer. I mean everything's there, but it just doesnt gel into an actual good movie. BTW I actually really like Mads as Grindewald.
10:55 bruhh😂
I like this movie. It's plot doesn't baby you-which by the comments sounds like what most people want.
Haven’t seen the movie yet. Might see it with some friends next week
love that you call him Grindel lmao
I actually love this movie, if not just for the first scene with Jude and Mads just doing superb acting together. I was so sad for them that Dumbledore and Grindlewald can't reconcile because Grindle has no remorse
I justed watched the movie some one explain why the bad guy at the end has the wand that Dumbledore will have eventually. How does that guy have and how does Dumbledore end up having it?
"It's clear as water that Credence will have a revival" Nice nice nice 😂👌
"I honestly wasn't expecting to see so many people transitioning on JK's TERF ..." (oops, I mean turf).
Best laugh I've had out this movie to date!
i cant thank u enough for pronouncing his name G R I N D E L V V A L D🤗
Look they've could have made it simple: Have Grindelwald want X amount of extremly rare beasts for some extreme form of magical spell that would allow him to, let's say, destroy all the boundaries between the wizard world and the muggle world in an instance (like all the spells that keep muggles from not noticing the magical places, Like DIagon alley, the Blacks family home etc etc etc.......)
They could even have had them all in the dark about why he was looking for them. Credence would be the first, an obscuris, and then move on to others.
That would have atleast had it make sence as to why Newt was so involved in this: Dumbledore knew he was the greatest zoologist in the world, because he trained him.
But nooooo. They made one good film, then they lost track and now only want to do "Young Dumbledore" instead.
lovers don't train to fight each other but to each his own
I just wanted to end on Credence and his dad sharing a meal over his moms portrait, I thought that was gonna be the whole fulfilling last scene... big upset
I hope you're not referring to the portrait of Ariana in the Hog's Head, or else Aberforth is no better than the Gaunts. In fact he'd be even worse lmao.
@@jorgenbaert924 I mean more "this is your mom, you wouldve loved her" kinda convo... not "you have power! unlock and be unashamed of it so i can use it to my will!"
@@benn.official_ I was hinting at the Gaunts' incestuous relationships by marrying with their cousins lol
@@jorgenbaert924 OH, that. Honestly been desensitized to it cuz the internet. At this point, ya lay with who ya lay with.
Still love this movie, idk why, i just wanted to go braindead and have a good time watching this movie, 10/10, love the movie, and i believe Dumbledore's wand shares a core with The Elder Wand, PRIORI INCANTATEM!
I tried and couldn’t. It was soooooo bad
@@DadsCigaretteRun same. I was really looking forward to it but it was sooo boring. Majority of it was walking and standing and talking. I either needed more animals, more fights, etc.
@@DadsCigaretteRun Have you tried reconsidering and reevaluating the problems that you have with it? Maybe try to see a second time? Believe me I Felt similar towards crimes of Grindelwald But when I re-watched it not only did I fully truly get it but I also was enthrallingly entertained by it so much that I consider to be one of the best Wizarding World movies and maybe you may very well Feel the same towards this one :-)
The word play in this video make my insides happy
That "transitioning on jk's terf" line is perfection!
It tells a lot about these movies that not even your recap and explanation can make them sound interesting.
I honestly thought Dumbledore and Grindelwald moments were the saving grace of this whole movie, seriously.
This is supposed to be a movie about why wizards didn't fight in WWII...
The way I see the role of the chillin is that people understand with the creature does it doesn't choose the winner of the election but it can sway some voters.
I love watching your videos
"It's clear as water that Credence will have a revival" That joke just made how much time I've wasted on this movie worth it. Thank you.
I’m so happy you did this because I didn’t know if it was worth watching the trilogy because I was okay with finishing the OG Harry Potter movies lol
I like the fact that you believe Dumbledore was speaking metaphorically when he said "Because I was in love with you." Dumbledore has always spoken in metaphors and riddles as we knew him in the original movies. He is not much different here.
