    Great video. The takeaway I got was that headsets with mic booms are still superior to headsets like this without a boom. This headset is usable, but if I was on the other end of the call, I would much prefer if the person I was talking to had a headset with a boom because the audio would be much clearer for me to understand.

      lol, headsets with Boom have a physical advantage :). Also, look at the side of those ear covers. If they put that many microphones on a boomed headset it may be better ? That’s so many mics to manage

    Awesome video! Really love your comprehensive tests of the most important reason why I would buy this headset - the mic's ability to mute background noises and focus on my voice. THANKS!

      Coffee Shop mic test coming next week. And I also plan on testing headsets and filming a video in a company with an open office floor plan. Our facility is now more of an Experience Center with just about everyone but our Operations team working remote.

    this is must be the first end to end review on Poly surround 80 online.
    wanted to see next is a comparison of other boom less headset surround 80, the previous poly 8200 and Sony xm5 (although not UC) just from a mic noise canceling angle.
    Great review as always.

      Thanks for watching! I plan on comparing the Poly Voyager Surround 80 UC to other UC boomless headsets including the EPOS Adapt 660, Bose 700, Cisco Bang & Olufsen 980, and maybe the Voyager 8200 UC (mine is really old)

    Great video. Plantronics 8200 was a revelation. It changed the industry with its features and the effectiveness of its mics. The transparency mode was something that other companies copied. It was one of the first headphones to have that. It has so much going for it that it retained its price 5 years later.
    This headset does NOT bring that much to the table.
    Nothing seems new or groundbreaking.
    In fact, it seems sub par compared to the 8200 or its competitors.
    The Bose 700 UC would probably be a better buy, and that device is years old.
    Could this be the effect of the HP buyout?
    THisis NOT the upgrade we were looking for.
    Thanks, bro, for doing the video, Danny.
    I cannot think why anyone would actually pick these up for $450 when they can get better headsets for their employees for less and possibly half the price.
    They can get conventional headsets and get a better experience or get other poly headsets and get a better experience.
    The video was great.
    The product is somewhat subpar.
    Heaven help them if Sony ever decides to put out a team-certified version of the MX5.
    Beats just put out a set of headphones that were effectively the same kind of thing. Not an upgrade and, in many ways, a downgrade from what is there now and almost every competitive headphone is better value and performs better in almost every way....including the version before this one.
    It feels like Poly has done the same.
    The 8200 sounds like it would do an even better job than these.

    • @CallOneInc
      @CallOneInc  Год назад

      Yes, I plan on doing outside tests in windy conditions to test the performance. I have heard the fan requests in the past. Are you using an actual fan in your space? I live in Florida and have AC throughout, so I don't own a fan; however, I can get one to test headsets. Appreciate you watching, supporting our channel, and sharing your feedback.

    Poly/HP gave me this headset to test out (wearing them now). I have one ear. With Mono setting (iphone/mac) it's not bad, also, often switch from the laptop to the phone quite a bit and noticed it's a smoother transition. Very nice phone, I've called clients today and they say I'm crystal clear. Would IT departments hand these out given their cost? I think if it solved some of the issues most cheap headsets have, why not? Very user friendly, you just hand the user the headphones, typically fully charged, and they turn it on and ready to pair.

      Hi TechGently! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Call One, Inc. (our company) works primarily Large Enterprises and our sister company, Hello Direct works with SMBs. We've seen organizations small to large vary in what options they provide employees. Some organizations value the voice of their brand, while others are more concerned with budgets. However, we also experience workers with the financial means making rogue purchases to get what best aligns with their workstyle and preferences. We do our best to educate IT leaders and decision makers that one size does NOT fit all and there should be options depending on use case and preferences. Again, thank you for sharing your experience! We appreciate you supporting our channel!

      @@CallOneIncI've been using the headset for a few weeks now and it's great! The range is really impressive and my clients don't have issues hearing me despite the lack of a boom.
      The ANC is solid, 7/10. I also have the Bose NC 700s for personal use and they are better, 9/10. They don't completely drown out the call center noise, but they make it much more manageable.
      Very easy to pair with my laptop via a usb dongle. The Poly desktop app is also very handy for software updates and settings management.

    What is the configuration that you did on you headset? I have one and I have a many problems with noise cancelling and I cant adjust

    • @CallOneInc
      @CallOneInc  2 месяца назад

      I don't know of a way to configure the mics. Whenever I test UC Bluetooth headsets, I make certain to fully charge them, and update the software/firmware of the dongle and headset via Poly Lens. Outside of that, I don't do anything else. Moving forward I will include recordings from Zoom with Personalized audio isolation and Microsoft Teams Voice Isolation turned on. Now, when you say "many problems with noise cancelling and I can't adjust" I need more clarity into the use case. What are connecting the headset to? Are you using the included dongle with computer? Are you only using with mobile device? What voice, video, UC platforms/applications are you using? What is your environment?
