This looks amazing. Only problem for me is the touch feature. I prefer physical buttons for fear of accidental touches during work calls
Most of us also have that same perspective as well!
Excellent review! Thank you!
Thank you!
The Voyager 8200 is better on almost every test.
The 8200 was ahead of its time.
I used to have that head phone and am sad I got rid of it.
Got the focus now and it is very good.
Quite disappointing that Poly didn't go forward but went backward and just coloured it black.
NOT good.
Great video by the way!
- 8200 is the best choice among these headsets, but its noise cancelling is still inferior to some cheaper products on the market.
- For me, the microphone quality is important for two reasons: the voice should sound natural and the background noise should be minimized.
- Unfortunately, none of the headsets in this review meet these criteria, even though they are very expensive.
That's the biggest reason why I'm looking to replace my 8200. Well, that and USB Micro B charging.
I just bought the 80 because the micro usb and the fit. The80 has better sound quality, USB C, and the fit is far superior. The mikes work great for me when I work from home
@@gtbigdog3507 nice. I'm trialing the surround; it's alright
In an open office it is important that the mic is sensitive and produces good audio quality so you can keep your voice down and still be heard in the meeting. Personally I think the audio from the mic was not very good. Is there a comparison between the Poly 80 and the Jabra Evolve2 85?
Thanks for watching and we don't have a comparison between the Poly 80 and Evolve2 85 at the current time. We'll add this to our video list!
I’m disappointed with the performance of this headphone. For the price and the hype, it’s just not worth it. I honestly feel that the 8200 sounds better. I personally have the EPOS impact 1000 which blows it away. Hopefully, they will do some firmware updates to help with performance.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Hello could tell me what do you think overall of the epos impact 1000? Iam planning to buy one. Especially the ANC
Yeah I’m very surprised that the performance of the mics is worst than the aging 8200
Where can i find the serial number of product Poly Surround 80
I have just got those after jabra evolve2 85. ANC does not deliver, mics even close that on youtubes eg mixers etc , UC dongle problems on my dell, bluetooth disconnects on phone, touchpad 2 fingers tap hard to learn, reconnection to phone after switched off not working. Music ok. Quiet office environment ok. Jabra evolve2 85 mic not so great as old once but rest much better than this poly.
Loving the keyboard noise test. Is it a loud mechanical one?
No it’s not a loud mechanical one it’s not quiet keyboard either so kinda somewhere inbetween
for the price, 8200 still wins. Disappointment after all these years. 8200 crappy "leather" wears too quickly
Halv of my batteries no matter the age keep chargelevels for many many weeks and halv gets almost fully discharged after a week. Unfortunately my Poly, 1y.o. voyager belong to the second halv while Panasonic being much older to the first halv. No more polys for me!
Sorry to hear that. Good news is there’s many alternatives to consider 🙂
I have the 8200 and I had to make a spacer between the earpads to make room for my ears. Does the newer one have more room for years?
Seems about the same. One that may give you more space is here headsetadvisor.com/products/orosound-tilde-pro-bluetooth-noisecancelling-headset?_pos=1&_psq=Tilde+pro&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=40450096857246
Do these offer any sort of spatial audio controls?
Not that we're aware of
Can you do a baby test going forward? Kids have a different and higher voice which many mics pick up.
Definitely. We missed that test on this one!
Is avaliable ?
Not yet but should be available in the next 30 days or so. If your looking to place an order I'd recommend placing a pre-order on our website so you can get one of the first units headsetadvisor.com/products/poly-voyager-surround-80?_pos=1&_sid=7c0f4f0f3&_ss=r
you cant get noise blocking without a boom mic
You can it's just not going to be the best.
Terrible for the price. At that price should have a boom mic. I have the Jabra Evolve2 85, bought them ridiculously cheap.
Thanks for your feedback!
By the way, the testing you do is great!@@HeadsetAdvisor- The above comment wasnt a dig at your video :)
@@fkofilee our job is to report the news so no problem at all :) we welcome all honest opinions.
The boomlessness might be a feature.... :) I don't trust a work headset without a boom though, like It's for people who don't care about what their customer and colleagues have to listen to... only their own comfort and looks. Who's judgemental and mean today? Haha. Guilty!
@@frida507This is why I have a Jabra Evolve2 85 - To me they are perfect :) Fold away boom mic into the headphone cup :)
I have a question about the decision criteria you use to include or review headsets on your channel.
I love the channel and the format, but I have mostly stopped watching because I know and own a headset that has not been reviewed by the channel but has superior ANC.
The fact that some headsets with leading capabilities are not reviewed by the channel and I don't understand what the inclusion rules are is somewhat discrediting the otherwise really useful information!
Thanks for your feedback and question. We stay in our lane of reviewing headsets mainly made for work as that's what we specialize in. Which headset are you referring to that we haven't reviewed?
@@HeadsetAdvisorOLEAP... I use it for all my work calls, all day. It has really great ANC and I would like to see it head to head to head in your tests...
@@FrancoisLeCoguiec thank you for your suggestion, we will keep it in mind for future videos.
The microphone is disappointing. So much noise is coming through. I thought I'd buy one, but now I see that it is not worth such a vast investment.
I hear you. I was going to buy one too. It is just not good. Hopefully they can fix it with firmware updates. I went with the EPOS Impact 1000. They are great and has the best noise-cancelling on the market IMO
Main downside of boomless headsets
But the issue is the aging 8200 is performing better. I was actually so looking forward to this. Guess I’ll stick with my Jabra 65 flex
