Most of us use the penny test. But tire tread wears unevenly >>> I rotate and Balance my 4 tires often to prevent unnecessary friction. But I'm trying to balance treadwear across the width of single tires from the outside/inside and CENTER WEAR of each tire. I check pressure (and adjust every two weeks. I increase pressure from recommended 30psi to about 32-34psi. But with the penny (and otherwise evenly worn tires)... the center of the tire still has more tread depth than the insides or outsides. Should I go to 36-38psi to wear the centers more? Tiger Paws are rated to 44psi Max. I understand friction... mileage vs. traction. Experience here?
It sure was considerate of whoever designed the penny to make it such a useful tool for measuring tires. Thanks for the info.

BTW... Use a New "SHINY PENNY". They are easier to read!
