The Celtics had everything in their favor this year:
-won on the Kobe years (08 and 24)
      -revenge on kyrie
      -KP revenge on the mavs
-KP as a former all star center came off the bench in the finals. Game 1 was the first game the Celtics played following the passing of Bill Walton, a guy who went from MVP with the blazers to 6th man with the 86 Celtics. Fitting that he went ballistic that game.
-revenge on the heat in round 1, where they specifically attacked, crossed, and dunked on Caleb Martin throughout the series
-revenge on the Cavs in round 2, only other team to beat the Jays in the ecf before
-Joe Mazulla has a flawless gameplan throughout the finals after being widely considered to have been out coached last playoffs.
And lastly, KPs injury forced the Jays to get rid of past demons. KP is who unlocked this offense, so JT and JB had to fix their issues from prior seasons in order to advance and win without him.

It should’ve worked and still be working but for whatever his reasons Luka didn’t want it to work. I only saw them a few times nationally but picked up how one, Luka didn’t want to give him the ball. Example, can’t remember who it was against in the regular season but KP was starting to try to play in the paint and he wouldn’t get the touches. I still remember thinking “Ok KP is trying to ball and get usage inside the top of the key but why isn’t he getting looks. Two, as good as Luka was I could also see he never played with KP like out of everyone he needs to ball out it’s KP but he treated him like a role player like he’s on the same level as Kleber, DFSmith and whatever other role players they had. That’s no offense to those guys but even if they had it going I could see Luka only treates him like a role player. Interestingly enough, I told someone who knows the game that Luka purposely freezes KP out and explained how he doesn’t treat him like the guy he needs to ball out the most besides himself. The person I told thought I might just be talkin’ crazy. Probably a day or two later he sent me a link that I had no idea existed which was on youtube. There’s vids titled “Luka won’t pass to Kristaps Porzingis” or something similar and it’s way worse than anything I saw. I don’t know if it was personal, a European star thing or not but I knew what I was reading the little I saw them. Luka’s ignoring him is 👀 and it’s not a “I missed you on that play”. He didn’t play with him like he was the #2 guy on the squad and didn’t treat him like that either. They had the makings of different styled type of Kobe & Shaq or even a sort of Lbj and AD.
People would lay blame on Porzingis not seeing him getting ignored or getting touches in bad positions but every time some would say why doesn’t he play in the paint more I knew it was because when he does try to post up and is open he knows he’s still not getting the rock. You should always give bigs or players the rock when they have post up position even if they’re not a key player but especially someone like KP. As a pg you embrace that not ignore it. Obviously KP had some injury issues as well but they’d be a lot farther along if they had made that work. They’re finding they’re way back but there’s no way that shouldn’t have or couldn’t work especially with KP not being ball dominant. It’s not about numbers but both of them were supposed to be at least an easy 25 a piece on even a bad night

I remember the play-off series between the Mavericks and the Clippers. At that time, the idea was that if KP was further from the bottom of the basket, then Luka would have more free space to go to the basket with the ball, etc. It seemed to work at first and the Mavericks were ahead in the series 2-0, but when the Clippers coach changed tactics, then Rick (Mavs coach) didn't change tactics, even though you could see that everything is not going according to plan and the Clippers are taking control in the series.

1:20 "It has to be clear what the roles are..."
This is exactly why I believe that Basketball is flawed by design.
The positions are not as clear as a sport like American football or European football.
Basketball is a position-less sport, so emotional chemistry between players becomes very important.
In a sport like European football or American football "doing your job" can more easily overcome a lack of camaraderie, because "jobs" are more specialized and there is less overlap between "jobs."
This leads to a stronger sense of "we don't have to get long as long as we all do our jobs, then we will be okay."

He's a Post up player that teams should run offense through Close to the basket with post ups, Flash Post ups, and Mid Range post ups. Also on pick and pop from mid range or 3. He should be in movement plays around the basket cause he can get easy shots up over them and also he can gain rhythm that way. It balances the floor aswell. He can draw doubles there too and pass off.

Cause during the searson which I watched every game. KP was getting the ball close to the rim and scoring over everyone especially smaller defenders that aren't good like you.

He got injured leaving Luka alone when it mattered the most first and then the next year he refused to play hard in defense. And after that he came back afraid to give it all in defense, from being a good rim protector to being an overpaid liability that couldn't defend even against mediocre centers in the league.
You can't demand respect of the team if you don't fulfill the role you are getting paid for, and even less blaming the coaching staff or Luka who got to battle a full healthy Clippers ALONE 2 times in a row because the guy that is being paid like a superstar is butthurt that the young guy is performing better.

He showed he could not handle the co-star role. And this year once again he wasn't available until the finals... GL if you had needed him in the previous rounds... Just as DAL needed since they didn't have such a complete and deep roster.

My statement about KP keeps being the same, he wasn't there for 3 round in PO, you can't do that when you are #1 or #2 option, he is just lucky that BOS is such a deep team that they can handle playing wo him and even wo Tatum performing like a superstar since they have at least 3 other players that can take over a game (J.Brown, Jrue, D,White).
