You can actually get all your skills to max without using energy, which would make for a very tedious but doable run. Farming: bombs till the ground and rain/sprinklers water crops to be harvested. Planting and harvesting requires no energy. Also the animal route in this vid. Mining: you get mining xp when rocks are broken, even with bombs Foraging: you can level up by foraging items, which requires no energy. Fishing: crab pots are your only option for fishing xp. You can get 3 crab pots from the bundle in the community center by giving it a clam, a cockle, a muscle, and an oyster, all of which you can forage on the beach. The final item is the crab, which you can get from rock crabs. This will be by far the most tedious one to level up. Combat: killing monsters requires no energy. I would love to see this happen
One issue, though, is that you have to get fishing bait for the crab pots, and if you don't know how to fish, you can't buy the bait, so you MUST kill bugs, and make your own from bug meat. But do you need fishing skill or mining/combat skill for that? I don't remember.
@@AuntLoopy123 Bait is craftable at Fishing level 2. So you would need at least a bit of experience to get it. @@AuntLoopy123 you can also just buy it from Merchant, rarely but doable, my own run to max all skills and do community center without energy took ages but was done.
OKAY SO You can probably do completion without energy! Until the end of the game at least. Here's how: The start is very similar to yours, get chickens as soon as possible and once you have them, reset days until you get enough bombs to reach level 5. This takes a while, but with the help of a wilderness farm (or a foraging farm, but only until the debris clogs everything up) you should be able to get that around summer of year one like you did. There are a few other things you can do from here: firstly, buying crab pots and bait from willy's shop will give you fishing experience. You can level up fishing that way for now, and it will help once you get a recycling machine. You can also try using a fish pond, but getting the seaweed will be very rough as foraging is very rare, but once you get it put a crab in there for more chances of getting seaweed. You'll have to rely on slimes to get algae for those as well. Farming will give you access to the sprinklers eventually, and bombs can be used to till or harvest trees, so it will be expensive but you can eventually grow crops, which you should be able to go straight into kegs since that will take a while and yield a lot of wood and time to get oak resin as well. But, as of yet, completion is still very much out of reach, as you can't even fish or get artifacts from artifact spots. Well, the solution lies at the end of the game, and in fact the end of the third mine of the game: the "efficient" enchantment will allow you to use the fishing rod and the hoe! So you just have to do all of the Joja quest, and have somehow gotten enough hardwood, batteries, and iridium for the boat, and buy the bridge from the parrot. This part will take a while, as there aren't very many walnuts you can get without using energy. This is where the no energy thing breaks: unfortunately the only way to get into the volcano without using energy is a bridge which you can unlock with golden walnuts. Now, the walnuts aren't actually the problem here, the issue is that you need to have completed the dungeon in order to have that parrot available to purchase the bridge, so you're in a catch 22 because you need to use a watering can in order to get through the first time. Unfortunately the only solution I can think of involves the sword swing out of bounds exploit. I don't even know if sprinklers will on lava but they definitely will not reach far enough, and you absolutely need to cross that lava in order to beat that dungeon. So, the run takes one exploit, (or you could just use a watering can) but you can do completion without energy. Let me know if I'm forgetting anything or if there's another way around that issue!
@@alexion3007 I haven't tried yet so can't confirm or deny that, I really hope it works bc otherwise energy will have to be used which is just so annoying
Theoretically, the radius can be increased enough by pressure nozzle bought at Qi's, assuming both 1. Sprinklers work on lava, and 2. It's possible to unlock the Walnut Room with no energy.
@@goopi_eh 2 is correct - you can unlock the Walnut Room with 0 experience IIRC, but it's close. 1 on the other hand, well, anything placed inside of the mines vanishes comes morn. Also just double checked, sword doesn't work.
Crazy how I just started playing this game a week ago, now there's all this new Stardew content popping up. Big fan of jojabot. May he serve his corporate overlords well.
Been playing Stardew Valley a lot recently and never would I have thought Lemon would be able to come up with a challenge run for this game, he's simply built different
More Stardew challenges? I was thinking quests and community board as your only cash options. Also community center is only mid game at this point, that would be like stopping a ds1 run before the dlc :p Keep up the good work, you bring much joy 😊
Bumping this! Absolutely brilliant challenge idea!! Maybe one where the only energy you can expend is through whatever pays the least? Or only being allowed to use a set amount of energy points the whole run!
I love the more narrative based runs like this. It was hilarious and fun and you made me actually want to play yet another game! After S&S I’ll finally start playing Stardew which has been on my switch for like a year now…
7:00 technically you could level fishing, it would be a pain but doable, even pre 1.6 you would get a tiny amount of xp from crab pots and fish ponds, neither of which need energy. However both would be a pain, fish ponds require a lot of stone, which could be bought from Robin, and five pieces of both seaweed and algae, which while meant to be fished up, can both (rarely) be found in trash cans, also seaweed will occasionally spawn on the right side of the beach past the bridge. Crab pots are a little more problematic as you can only get 3 before leveling fishing to make them yourself, and that’s by completing the crab pot bundle in the community center which can be done via beach forage and killing certain enemies in the mine or from the traveling merchant. The real issue however is bait, as pre 1.6 bait is super hard to get before fishing level 2 when you can then craft it out but from Willy, but you can learn the much more expensive wild bait recipe from Linus at 4 hearts or just use ponds to get to being able to buy bait. A buddy of mine was doing another challenge where he had to set up fishing this way, but since 1.6 had released there were a few differences, such as a free level of fishing at the end of spring and Willy selling specialized bait from day 1, he even streamed some of it @AStickOfFish
I think this is one of my favorite challenge runs because it's more of a puzzle than a test of skill or patience - watching you figure out the "solution" was really rewarding
Me and my brother actually got slimes to spawn on the first floor of the mines pretty quickly. As for fishing, garbage cans, gifts, and the travelling cart helped. Since you can't bait the crab pots without exp in fishing, the crab pot bundle required luck. And of course Linus just wouldn't give us the recipe for wild bait since we keep getting bad luck on finding gifts for him. Our only energy requirement is the volcano at the end from what we've figured out. But first, we just need to make it out of spring. It's nice seeing someone else trying this after we started back in May, since it hasn't been a popular thing to do.
What I expected: a simple breakdown of strategies to subvert game mechanics. What I got: a beautiful saga of a robot learning the to love chickens and bombs.
Most unexpected, but most enjoyable! I've been watching your videos since you started your SnS challenge runs. The way you think outside the box and make it entertaining has me hooked. Keep up the good work!
I fell in LOVE with this video and your sense of humor, went back and watched some dark souls videos of yours and immediately subscribed. I don't know how this got into my recommended, but I'm so happy it did.
Oh, the fact that bombs till land is very powerful in no energy. You only use energy to till land and water crops. Planting and harvesting takes 0 energy. If crab pots give you fishing xp, it takes 0 energy to get all 5 skills to level 10 since you get a crab pot from the community bundle. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) there no way to get true perfection with no energy. You need to catch every type of fish, including legendaries. You might be able to get 4 candles from grandpa though. Not sure.
You can get max friendship with villagers by talking to them, beer from the saloon can be used for pam and shane, ice cream for demetrius, the bus lets you get coconuts for haley and linus, it would be possible to get the auto-collector from jojamart in this run which could allow you to acquire goat cheese. This could let you get robin to max as well. There's at least a few other semi-easy to acquire villager reps but I forget which ones might be good for this challenge. You will have the community center fixed and could get married.. It'd take some time but with bombs being on the table, you could potentially unlock the secret woods and blast the stumps there. This would allow you to get the second house upgrade for that trigger. Very time consuming, but absolutely possible. Same story with the pet. 1 million is also possible, though extremely time consuming. So with just those you could get around 15 points, 3 points above the 12 point requirement. That means you could either not get the million and still be okay, or shirk the marriage, or focus on only five villagers, etc, etc. So yes, in theory, it would be entirely possible to acquire grandpa's statue of perfection in this run. Edit: "In theory" because this assumes you can acquire a diamond later on. Seems to me the best way would be buying coffee from the saloon, making triple shot espresso with the upgraded house (turning it into a near requirement to at least get the kitchen unless you get extremely lucky with gem nodes or decide to go super deep in the mines without combat capability), and then buying one from the desert trader.
The efficient enchantment would let you do that, I posted a comment about it but I ran in to the issue of completing the volcano dungeon without energy. As far as I can tell it's impossible without glitching out of bounds or using energy to get across the lava river, but if you have ideas let me know
@@ultimus616 Seems like it'd be easier to just go for sprinklers using the bombs, to be fair. Given that you can level farming through the animals, XP won't be too much of an issue.
@@krel7160 My comment was meant to address the inability to fish without using energy. I'm trying to come up with a run that won't be horribly painful to pull off and sprinklers/bombs are already in there. Still can't get to the Forge without cheating though, so I think the run might need two rules, no energy and you have to use sword glitch to reach the forge and then immediately leave, and buy the bridge from the parrot instead
@@ultimus616 Being unable to really go mobbing already makes the run pretty painful for getting a prismatic shard to enchant in the first place.. Besides, fishing can still be leveled by buying crab pots and bait from willy. If he's not selling bait yet, Linus reputation gets wild bait. How to level fishing with wild bait if you can't go mobbing in the mine very well? Once the community center is done you unlock the wizard quests. Those unlock the mutant bug lair, which lets you get meat. Not only that, but it also really opens up the possibility of mobbing for combat on the regular (as well as prismatic shard grinding) But how do we get the slime and the fiber? Linus, fiber seeds. (Or the mutant bug lair) Slime? Krobus. How do we get to the sewers? ... Pray and hope, my friend. Pray and hope. One day you'll have 60 artifacts from the digging spots and random drops. Pretty much, fishing becomes a late game skill to level. But it is technically possible, without using a rod. Edit: Wait. Hol'up. We need fishing to get crab pots in the first place. Hm.. Let me do some digging. Edit 2: So it looks like you could do something really, really stupid. You can get three crab pots from the community center if you haven't focused down joja yet. If you grind out the beach forage you can get a mussel, oyster, and clam (as well as a fourth fish I cant say here or youtube will get mad). You can get a crab from the rock crab strat, or one of the others from the traveling cart. This would allow you to finish the crab pot bundle, get 3 crab pots, and therefore with the above strat involving wild bait, you can get 15 fishing XP per day. Making leveling fishing TECHNICALLY possible without using any energy. Edit 3: Fixed grammar and clarified a few points in Edit 2.
This video inspired me to play my own no energy challenge run. With an easy bootstrap by picking the beach farm, which provides some cherry bombs via survival package spawns. I'm almost done with the community center, just waiting on a few more fish to appear in the traveling cart. Sadly getting to Ginger Island will be a struggle (hardwood is in short supply), and the volcano dungeon will be straight up inaccessible due to the watering can requirement, but that still leaves nearly all the game playable without energy, which is super neat.
Literally you putting that joke about the movie theater saved my game! I'm new to stardew Valley and after 4 in game years I decided to go with the joja mart option, and after completing all of the community upgrades I was waiting to get the letter to go to ginger Island. But since I play on mobile I thought maybe something was different and I could not "end the game". Oh my God thank you, you've made my week Edit: dang it I didn't know about the update not coming to mobile
Just stumbled across this video in my feed, and gotta say you've earned a like! JojaBot just wants to take care of his chickens and suspicious-looking chickens, love him.
I used the Beach Farm for my "use no energy" run. But I would use Forage Farm next time. It has much more space that is NOT full of trees, stumps, boulders, and other things. Small debris can be removed with bombs, and bombs can till soil too, but they can't remove things that need upgraded tools, and they even have a hell of a time removing trees. As long as you give yourself Day One to use tools, and reach Mining Level One on that day, then cherry bombs are a possibility from the beginning.
At 2 hearts, Caroline gives you a crafting recipe for a tea sapling. Tea saplings cost wild seeds, wood and fibre. But most importantly sell for 500 each. You can craft wild seeds in spring easily (lvl1 foraging easy to reach) but in other seasons, you can use the community center to get 30 seeds (then stab the junimos in the back and buy a joja membership later)
you craft sprinklers for watering and bombs for tiling, then boom you can start growing crops. This challenges get exponentially easier the momment you had access to cherry bomb.
Bro this video was incredible!! Your out of box thinking was insane! Also despite playing a while and having watched probably over 100 hrs at least of stardew valley content on YT, I only realized while watching this you actually have to TAKE OUT and PLACE hay for your chickens… I thought the silo automatically fed them, no wonder mine are always pissed at me after rainy days 🤦♀️😭😂💀
Knew the answer would be bombs, and it opens far more than it may first appear. The only question was how you would go about getting them. Did not expect brute forcing the mines. XD Some friendly villagers can gift them. Even without sprinklers, low growing day plants could be watered with nothing but rain if lucky until you got sprinklers, with bombs tilling the soil. Bombs also unlock mines if you have a good stockpile. From there, the only things you cant do is fish (without crab pots) and access the secret woods(?), but the community center might still be possible by abusing the traveling cart. To my knowledge, dwarf scrolls cannot be found by means of worms, and with full access to the mines, it is only a matter of grinding. Heck, even without bombs, you could have done fruit trees to get more cash.
I was literary just attempting this challenge. A few differences I'm doing the community center more traditionally, I have gotten most of my stuff from the travelling cart. I also got max friendship with kent to get free bombs in the mail.
So I've done some testing, and you can get every skill to level 10 without using energy. Mining: Bombs Farming: Bombs for tilling, sprinklers for watering Foraging: Picking up forage Combat: As normal Fishing: A tricky one - Complete the crab pot bundle, then stock them with Magic Bait from Linus (regular bait is only unlocked at Fishing 2, or from the Travelling Merchant)
I loved the execution with the Joja bot. Made the challenge even more fun to watch. Very creative. I almost want to try this challenge myself. There's gotta be some ways to make it less painful.
You could have actually gotten fishing experience via fish ponds by finding fish and algae in the trash and seaweed washes up on shore sometimes after you fix the beach bridge with some purchased wood from Robin. Bombs for stone. Depending on the fish you can almost certainly give it at least one offering and that gives you experience.
I will fully admit that when I saw the title I was like "This is the dumbest idea ever!" but you actually made it work and, even more impressivly, actually made it entertaining to watch. Great job! JojaBot was funny. I hope you use him again. ^_^
I was surprised you didn’t friend Kent for bombs. Kent likes daffodils and eggs, so you can start giving him gold or iridium quality liked gifts weekly until he starts sending bombs to your house. May have shortened the play time by a few years.
I actually played as a Jojabot years ago, although it was a “Farming Only” challenge. By the end of year one I was incredibly wealthy, but most villagers didn’t know who I was.
this inspired me to do what I call a LER- Limited Energy Run. Where there's only 2 ways for my Joja Bot file to regain energy: Getting Stardrops, and drinking JojaCola. Nothing else. Not even the spa is allowed. My Joja Bot can use energy perfectly fine, it's only limited in how it can be recovered. This led me to realize that mines are extra dangerous- I can't think of a single in-game item that restores health but not energy. So... yeah, that's a danger.
At mining level 2 you can craft stairs and get even deeper in the mines. You can also make bars without using energy and deeper mines are great for foraging. Energy free combat run sounds amazing. Also, get the greenhouse from JoJa first. If you do then you can get the rest of the money from farming a lot faster with crops like strawberries or blueberries.
@@porkeyminch8044 Ancient fruit is slow though. Berries take a few days and roll into more berries quickly while ancient fruit is a luck of the draw thing and take over a season to produce a single plant. When you need to fill space berries are better.

The start is very similar to yours, get chickens as soon as possible and once you have them, reset days until you get enough bombs to reach level 5.
IIRC you can't sword out of bounds at the volcano mines. I might be wrong but that's what I remember
@@alexion3007 I haven't tried yet so can't confirm or deny that, I really hope it works bc otherwise energy will have to be used which is just so annoying
Theoretically, the radius can be increased enough by pressure nozzle bought at Qi's, assuming both
1. Sprinklers work on lava, and
Ah, Stardew Valley and the many memories of my girlfriend regularly placing explosives inside of my house…
I don't know why the YT algorithm brought this video to me ... but I haven't laughed so hard at a Stardew run in a long, long time. Well done.
Absolutely loved the "Egg", that was just great ^^
Been playing Stardew Valley a lot recently and never would I have thought Lemon would be able to come up with a challenge run for this game, he's simply built different
"I hate talking to people" There is nothing you've ever said that I feel more than this.
But but..... Shane 🥺
More Stardew challenges?
I was thinking quests and community board as your only cash options.
Also community center is only mid game at this point, that would be like stopping a ds1 run before the dlc :p
Keep up the good work, you bring much joy 😊
Bumping this! Absolutely brilliant challenge idea!! Maybe one where the only energy you can expend is through whatever pays the least? Or only being allowed to use a set amount of energy points the whole run!
An interesting run idea would be that he always needs to go to sleep at a specific hour like not being allowed to do anything past 18h or sum
I love the more narrative based runs like this.
It was hilarious and fun and you made me actually want to play yet another game! After S&S I’ll finally start playing Stardew which has been on my switch for like a year now…
Oh my god yes, I couldn't even have dreamed of such a perfect crossover
3:22 Lemon "Did... Did you just give my robot a sword?"
Me "CaN yOu BeAt StArDeW vAlLeY wItH fIrEbOmBs?!"
10:58 Lemon "Oh."
Me "Oh."
Every now and again I come back and rewatch this video for its hilarity, it never fails to make me smile
I think this is one of my favorite challenge runs because it's more of a puzzle than a test of skill or patience - watching you figure out the "solution" was really rewarding
okay this was an editing and entertainment diamond. i had a broad grin the entire time and the 16 minutes felt like 5!
"Hey! Stop turning people into eggs!"
Not only that, but it also really opens up the possibility of mobbing for combat on the regular (as well as prismatic shard grinding)
But how do we get the slime and the fiber?
One of the most entertaining challenge runs ive seen in a good while. Your interactions with Jojabot were hilarious. Great job!
Oh my God thank you, you've made my week
Edit: dang it I didn't know about the update not coming to mobile
Just stumbled across this video in my feed, and gotta say you've earned a like! JojaBot just wants to take care of his chickens and suspicious-looking chickens, love him.
16:10 if you have sprinklers and the land is tilled you are set!! Putting down seeds and harvesting any type of crop takes no energy :)
So happy the algorithm brought me here! I've watched this so many times, jojabot is perfect 😂
This was not something I expected but I definitely enjoyed it XD
At 2 hearts, Caroline gives you a crafting recipe for a tea sapling. Tea saplings cost wild seeds, wood and fibre. But most importantly sell for 500 each.
You can craft wild seeds in spring easily (lvl1 foraging easy to reach) but in other seasons, you can use the community center to get 30 seeds (then stab the junimos in the back and buy a joja membership later)
oh and i guess you can sell the tealeaves too. 350 gold month from selling tealeaves
Harvesting also gives no experience (at least before 1.5, haven't checked since) so that means it's also useful for a level 0 challenge too.
I almost expected linking this video with your Dark Souls bombs only playthroughs xD
This has the energy of a luke the notable series. I love it.
you craft sprinklers for watering and bombs for tiling, then boom you can start growing crops.
XD
Some friendly villagers can gift them.
Hey man great run! Can't wait to see what's up next!
This was so creative and enjoyable! I loved it!
Not sure what I expected, but I loved it.
My buddy and I started stardew valley recently. Perfect timing.
I love your assessment of the egg festival, I always feel like I'm making children cry when I absolutely destroy them every year.
I was literary just attempting this challenge.
A few differences I'm doing the community center more traditionally, I have gotten most of my stuff from the travelling cart.
I also got max friendship with kent to get free bombs in the mail.
he did it,,, by god, folks, he did it.
super fun to watch! loved this :)
I cant imagine all the work you did, i loved It!
So I've done some testing, and you can get every skill to level 10 without using energy.
Mining: Bombs
Farming: Bombs for tilling, sprinklers for watering
Foraging: Picking up forage
Combat: As normal
Fishing: A tricky one - Complete the crab pot bundle, then stock them with Magic Bait from Linus (regular bait is only unlocked at Fishing 2, or from the Travelling Merchant)
WOW! That was amazing! Now I want to drop my farm save and start over doing this! But I should probably take a nap first. Energy levels at zero...
I actually played as a Jojabot years ago, although it was a “Farming Only” challenge. By the end of year one I was incredibly wealthy, but most villagers didn’t know who I was.
Gotta respect the amount of work this must've needed
This may or may not be my favourite video on this channel
Even robots are getting in on the mayonnaise empire.
this inspired me to do what I call a LER- Limited Energy Run.
Seedmakers have a chance to produce an ancient seed, which means you could upgrade from berries to ancient fruit.
@@porkeyminch8044 Ancient fruit is slow though. Berries take a few days and roll into more berries quickly while ancient fruit is a luck of the draw thing and take over a season to produce a single plant. When you need to fill space berries are better.
@@Birdofgreen It takes a while to start up, but once it's set up it's far more profitable than almost every other crop. Plus you only have to harvest it once a week.
This is absolutely amazing!!!
Great video. Really glad to see this channel keep growing!
Jojabot is my favorite character from this anime.
What an egg-celent video! We need more bot interactions in the future!
Since I’ve been going through the backlogs of The Backlogs, I’ve been thinking… how about SnS with ONLY salt? You can collect gold but can never use it. I’ve only been introduced to this game by this channel so if the restriction is too hard/easy, go ahead and adjust your suffering! Have a good night
Subbed! Looking forward to watching your channel grow! Can’t believe RUclips been hiding this gem.
Allright, this video make my day much happier, subscribed.
You could get an Earth Crystal from the Travelling Merchant, and copper/coal from Clint, so the Mayonnaise Machine wasn't actually that unattainable.
no joke, this video made me play stardew valley. great work.
In my own "use no energy" challenge I started with cows, but found that it takes four energy points each time you use a milk pail. You can use an autograbber, or leapfrog straight to pigs though.
Me: going to go to sleep after 1 more video
Me at 2:00 A.M. : stardew valley no energy >:)
This makes me want to try a challenge of the game with my hubby. Maybe like we can only use an ax and the other a pick.
Oh boy, a new channel to binge watch!
discovered your channel because of your deepest sword video loving the content
:)
Just found your channel and it's absolutely hilarious 😂
this video was so fun!!! great work jojabot 💘
it would be nice to see jojabot comeback in the future
UNDERRATED CHANNEL ALERT!! 🚨
Egg egg, egG eGG eGg, EGg EGG! EgG.
I've watched quite a lot of your videos and damn. Coping with your nickname being Lemon while it's also mine is hard
I've only recently found your channel and it's a gold mine, stay awesome :)
This is a really good video! Perfect length and detail, plus the robot voice and the chicken obsession was pretty funny. Hopefully you didn't go as insane as JojaBot while making this lol
Considering this took no energy, this took a LOT of fucking energy
take the bombs to the island now, get to forge, get no energy enchant on tools, and boom full access to everything.
this is awesome - now do it again with the community center!
I'm doing a similar challenge now, except I allowed myself to use energy on Day One, because it makes the whole thing a lot more manageable.
First video I see from this channel and I love it.
Its actually kind of interesting to see how the spawning clutter just keeps going
Great video! Got really attached to the robot. Thanks for that.
interesting challenge. great job completing it
Underrated channel but your videos are great!
This was awesome
