Girl I’ve been a nurse for 5 years and I’m still learning how to nurse lol. Great video!
A. Chenai same 🤣
SAME!!! lol but i find myself asking more questions and digging more than most nurses as to what is going on medically with the patients so ive been considering moving toward more
Great
@@brittanycunningham9698 nice one I need a helping hand
I’ve never declined service because it was np as opposed to a doctor... I find it that most NP’s have more empathy for their patients than doctors (not all but most). Not the route I want to take but... I would have to see once im in the field what pulls me, sometimes we have plans and things change once you’re actually in the field.
As a nurse practitioner a lot of ppl still does not know what we do or want we are allowed to do! I have had a lot of pt say oh you are the nurse when is my doctor coming! But I just educate them if they don’t want me to treat them after that that’s fine... great video
thats exactly what my sister (also NP) said. sometimes she doesnt even educate them she just shrugs and passes them to the patient lol!
I always choose to receive care from a NP rather than an MD. I just feel like they listen to me more than a doctor has in my personal experiences
same!
"I would rather have my plane flown by the flight attendant"
That was sooo helpful!!!!! I’m in the process of applying to NP school. I just started following you on social media and I’m so glad I did!!!!
yay! good luck
I’m currently taking nursing prereqs for a ADN program (I’m a LVN) and This is def straight to the point on what you will be dealing with. To speak on the compassion, that is so true. I love seeing the NP at my Dr. she truly listens and is interested in what i have to say
NPs are so awesome...im glad this was helpful for you!!
Hi Cayla how are you? I'm taking classes for the fall. lm so mervous. May l ask how are you doing in the program so far?
A Blessing2019 Hello guys

Great video! I have been an RN for two years and know I want to advance my career. However, I am not totally sold on being an NP. I absolutely love teaching so I think I am going to focus on obtaining my MSN in nursing education for now. I feel like if I want to do NP later on, I always have time and can do a post-master's program.
Love this video! I just applied to NP school!
Where at!
I don’t mind being cared for by an NP. But I specifically told her I was having hyperthyroxicosis episode. And she needs to check my Thyroid panel. T3- and t4 and sure was right went to see an endocrinologist the following day and
Hi, I'm Danny 😁 i plan on going to nursing school first before I decide if I want to do NP or CRNA
Yes we’d love a video about why you should go to fnp 🏫
I’m not sure about being a provider I’m trying to find the right role for me as a nurse practitioner! My goal is to become an RN and then advance my Career and I choose NP 👩🏾⚕️💉
SOMEONE had to say this🙌🏽🤣🤷🏽♀️ GREAT information! Keep teaching hun!
Thank you!
This was great, thank you for sharing! Very informative and funny, lol!
Love this video girl!!
Chelsey Anne Souther thanks love 💕
Great video as always. Thank you for this video 👍🏾👏🏾. Very helpful video
you are so welcome
I’m 13 and i’ve always wanted to be a nurse practitioner since I was 5
Considering doing NP school. But I've always wanted to be apart of the OR team and possibly work towards a first assist certification. I worry that NP school might not be worth it for me unless I get tired of the OR. I'm also onf the fence about getting the first assist certification because that role seems to be taken by Surgical PA's. First world problems I guess...
I’m in the same boat as you. But we do have a surgical NP doing ortho at our hospital so not all is lost my friend!
Thank you for the great video. How many years have you work as a RN before going into the NP program?
I’m a little bit confused. I’m shooting for an msn program. Can I take the test for the fnp certificate immediately after the msn program, or do I need to do a fnp certification program after my msn?
How does nursing school compare to NP school? Which it harder in your opinion?
My ultimate goal is to become an ACNP. I am currently working on my prereqs for a BSN program at my University and I plan on jumping into an MSN program as soon as I graduate. I do want to work as an RN, of course, but I just know the role of an NP is meant for me. I feel that I am a born leader and meant to lead a team.
This is awesome, thank you
Nurse T thanks boo! 🤎
For example if you didn’t take any medical class on you high school year or middle school year can’t you still became a nurse .
PA school with the no autonomy and those "required hours" ...yeaaa issa no for me
Realistic but helpful info.
Thank you for keeping it real . ..
i love NPs who do follow up care after i've been seen by a MD/DO and have established treatment with them. i wish it didnt have to be either/or, when the 2 roles can work together as a team
Got my Bsn. I’m stuck between go back to school do it while you young and single. Also, stuck between do I really wanna be an NP. I feel like it’s an good opportunity but my heart isn’t fully in it
I remember when I was like 5 or 6, I was having some problems with my kidney and my parents waited on months on a waiting list just to see a doctor. As my symptoms were getting more concerning/frequent and inconvenient (for my family), finally we were given a chance to see a doctor! However, it was actually a nurse practitioner and my parents being immigrants did not know about nurse practitioner, they just knew what a nurse was and they were shocked! (My parents kept thinking she was a nurse who was practicing but understood her postion after a couple of explanations ) My parents just kept explaining how they were promised a doctor, and nurse practitioner cuts them off as says was like “I’m just as qualified etc” etc. My parents respected that but still felt unease. The nurse practioner kept saying “it’s either you wait another 6 months before seeing a doctor or you can talk to me now”.After 10 mins of arguing. The doctor was finally brought it in as well and the nurse practitioner, and the nurse practitioner gave her stance for best treatment option and the doctor was like “I support my fellow colleagues decision”. Lool my parents were so pissed.
In the ended up getting no treatment. I was born with hydronephrosis, very mild. My left kidney is still swollen but now at the age of 21 I’m starting to feel the symptoms more and more. I really want to take antibiotics for a bit until things calm down but unfortunately I’m not given that choice, only surgery or just wait it out aka “suck it up”.
I guess in the end it didn’t matter who I saw doctor or nurse practioner haha I’m still not relived oh well, i guess that’s life.
Wow! I was born with a swollen kidney too! I just take p5p b6, and b5. What helps me the most is drinking salt water every now and then. I would definitely avoid surgery because inserting a uretal stent is only going to cause more problems.
What NP school did you go too
What experience they need before going to NP school like...they need to be specialist in cannulation?????
Love your necklaces! Where are they from?
thank you shopxixi.com
I'm a BSN RN ....for almost a year. I honestly am not wholeheartedly crazy about being a bedside nurse. I've been contemplating if I want to go back to school to get a Graduates degree.... NP . But I don't feel it in my heart that's what I want to be . I see what NP have to do and honestly I don't really care to do their job like calling the shots.... all my friends are going back to school for np or MSN. I don't want to just sit here and not advance myself or grow... I just feel there is something else out there for me to do ...I want to further my education but I don't know if I want to do it in nursing anymore
This right here! The dilemma
Same
Same… except I’m in an FNP program 😅 I’m feeling like I’m just not in it…
The NP field has grown so much.
Nurse Practitioners are growing faster than MDs! 💜
Is Canada a good place to become a NP? Thank You

Does it matter where you get your BSN when applying for NP schools? I understand experience is more important, but just wondering. I just graduated with my ADN and am trying to figure out where to go next while I still have the drive to go back 😅
Most programs don’t really care about the school you went to, but if the NP school you want to get into is competitive, then it’s critical that you go to a BSN program that has a cumulative GPA (meaning the GPA goes from 0.0 to as high as a 4.0). Schools that are pass or fail (WGU) don’t offer cumulative GPAs and that “pass” effectively counts as a B or 3.0, which is the bare minimum for entry for most programs, so you’ll effectively be at the bottom of the list for consideration for entry if you went to the formerly mentioned school.
Um so I’m young and thinking about being a nurse practitioner I heard from my mom that they are right under a doctor but you said different so does that mean they are equal to them?
it depends on your state. most states require a np to work under a doctor just for precautions but they are still able to prescribe and diagnose
I am a L&D nurse and about to start as a FNP student.... just subscribed...
thanks for being real
As a recently graduate nurse, I have no interest to become a nurse practitioner because I don't want that kind of responsibility. If I wanted to do so I would've become a physician rather than a nurse. Thanks for letting us know what it really means to be a nurse practitioner.

How many years should you be a nurse first before being an NP?
At least 1 year. More is recommended.
Many NP programs no longer require work experience before applying. Many will take new BSN graduates - just look into it. Call different programs or read their info on their websites.
Very gorgeous!
after how long of being an rn did you decide you wanted to be an np? what did the path of becoming an np look like fo you?
i knew i wanted to be a np before being a nurse haha. i wanted atleast one year nursing experience first.
NP > MD
Would you mind elaborating on such a pointless statenent?
Btw, I'm a nurse.
