    Hippa can be breached by even leaving chart notes unattended, not locking ur computer after leaving, not using a protective screen, throwing away pt info into the regular trash. Evrythang

At the hospital where I have clinical next semester, if you access a chart on a patient that isn’t yours, it alerts management and they will confront you about why you were looking at it. HIPAA! I’m clerical I went to school for medical billing and coding. If I’m working front desk check in I’m not giving you your own info. And prior to that I worked at the credit bureau when HIPAA started, they had to mask the name of the providers on medical collections. Crazy was a family members husband walked into the GYN office I was working at with another woman. My office manager said I wasn’t bound by HIPAA but I still didn’t say anything.

Nurse came in to give discharge instructions and started with my diabetes. Friend and I looked at each other n asked her if she knew I was diabetic. Seems to me that HIPAA should mandate that that process change.

    Hi!
    What’s your take on attending Nursing school while working a full-time job? Not to mention that the Nursing school I plan to attend is accelerated. 18 month approximately for the BSN.
    Perhaps anyone from the Nursing community can give some input.

    • @laurenh2498
      @laurenh2498 4 года назад +4

      Shoggy I’m in a traditional BSN program and work PRN as a patient care tech on a neuroscience floor. I work part time hours some weeks, full time hours other weeks. If you’re in an accelerated program, it would be very difficult to maintain full time hours, especially if your job is not extremely flexible with scheduling and doesn’t have lots of different shift times. For example, at my job we only work either 0700-1900 or 1900-0700, and many accelerated programs have classes scattered all throughout the day and evening, so I would not be able to work at all on days that I have class if I happened to be in the accelerated program. As of right now I frequently work the nights after I have class as long as I have the following day off from class. My school’s accelerated program also has Saturday clinical. The material is relatively difficult and a lot to take in at times so it would also be hard to keep up with the material in an accelerated program, none the less, while working full time. I would advise you to work part time if possible. May I ask what kind of job you have?

    • @nevaehjackson2249
      @nevaehjackson2249 4 года назад

      Lauren H how did you land a job as a PRN while still in school? I’m interested in doing that once I start my junior year or nursing school. What kinda of previous job experience is needed?

    • @laurenh2498
      @laurenh2498 4 года назад +1

      Nevaeh Jackson The job title is PCT (patient care tech), the PRN part means that I only work as needed, not full time or part time. However I don’t have an issue picking up hours on my unit when I want to. I just had my CNA certification, and I had done an internship in a hospital so I was used to the clinical setting but this is my first actual patient care job. I started before I had finished Fundamentals of Nursing, but many hospitals accept that plus clinical as a qualification, if you don’t have your CNA. If you do have your CNA, then having fundamentals completed just makes you look like an even better candidate.

      Lauren H I’m currently working in retail. My team and I are very understanding when it comes to school, therefore, the scheduling is very flexible. There is a lot of downtime that I can take advantage of in order to study. There’s a possibility that I can drop down to working 4 days if need be. Even so, I think it would be very difficult with the amount of material I would have to study. I am still exploring all options as I come closer to entering Nursing School. Shifts at my current employer are 07:00-15:00, 10:00-18:00 or 14:00-22:00

    Noticed your vid views used to be in the 50-140k range and now they barely make 15 to 30k. Prolly others feel the same way with the bs promos that take up 80% of your videos.

      kayla jean jordan she gotta get that coin. i think we all would do sponsored videos for money if we had a big platform and she’s sponsoring something very important where she can help people follow a career unlike other youtubers sponsoring dumb ass things

      enes she works as a full time nurse and does social media, I think she can afford to do one or two unsponsored videos? Her content used to be so good and so relatable and genuine and now it’s like she just makes up a topic so she can throw it in to a sponsored video?

    Your videos used to be inspiring but now they are filled with bs ads to make you more revenue. The authenticity is gone. I'll be unsubbing. Miss your old vids but they have been like this for a long while now. What a shame. Also a video on how to not violate Hipaa is posting to post. You'd have to live under a rock to be naive to Hipaa violations.

      You seems so obsessed with the nurse nook. In most of her videos you post a lot of negative comments. If you don't like her content don't watch it's that simple.
