My ex-husband let his girlfriend take our son to and urgent care and she, by herself, made decisions about possible hospitalization and medication.
I am told that i cant do anything and no where to report this criminally and the civil side doesn't care.
I dont blame the urgent care because she lied and said she was mom.
What do i do? What can i do?
Oh, this was her second offense. First was reported to and investigated by hhsocr.

What if: 1) my physician botches some procedure they did for me; 2) I bring it up with my physician for dicussion; 3) I have not filed, threatened to file, or in any way whatsoever even implied a threat to sue or file a complaint against the physician; and 4) the physician discusses my medical information with their own attorney without my permission?
In another situation with another physician, what if the physician has Alexa active in the procedure room and uses it to play music, etc., and Alexa is listening to everything the physician and I are discussing, and my name used, and of course all of that conversation is automatically being stored on Amazon's servers?

Is it a HIPAA law violation for an employee of the pharmacy(not a pharmacist) in a kroger retail grocery store to approach another co worker(me, co worker from same store, different dept) and ask them "how the increase in medication is treating me".... When I've never talked to them about medication of any sort before in my life.
Is there legal action that could be taken in this instance?

Can you explain HIPAA section 45 CFR 164.512(b)(1)(v)(C) concerning employer rights to access PHI for compliance with 29 CFR 1904? For example, if an employer sends an employee that alleges a workplace injury to a clinic, the employer needs treatment and diagnosis information to determine if the injury is:
    1. work related 29 CFR 1904.5
    2. Days away 29 CFR 1904.7(b)(3)
    3. Restricted work or transfer 29 CFR 1904.7(b)(4)
    4. Medical treatment beyond first aid 29 CFR 1904.7(b)(5)

Hello ! :) New Subscriber here. Question, please. I was assaulted by a security guard at a hospital, this is what the hospital did to cover up the crime, they took me to a Psych Ward and gave me a shot against my will and said that I was crazy. The attorney who's representing me advised me to sign a HIPAA authorization form. How is this going to benefit me ?

Last week, I went to a local Emergency Room for treatment.
When I was given my discharge papers, I noticed that another patient’s information was attached to the back of my papers. The extra paper was stapled upside down to the back of my papers.
I did not recognize the other person’s name. All I saw it was not me. I immediately returned back to the ER front desk to alert them of this violation.
I also contacted the hospital to complain. I told them that the other person would likely be quite upset if his information was leaked.
The representative who called me back said they will make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This was informing, however since it seems state by state some things can be weird, I was wondering under current Pandemic, Can a company force you to reveal any medical history in front of its customers, I ask this Because I was employed by Walmart (also screened ppl myself after I signed their paper) they sometimes forced us to take temp checks and ask about recent medical issues based on the pandemic, isn't that a HIPAA violation ?
If it is in the state I live in (nebraska) they could get a class action on them.

    • @demonic7610

Best part if it is wrongful contact me immediately and we can get video proof from walmart that they do this through a court order.

@@demonic7610 No because they asked you directly you can choose to give them that info or not. If it was a provider that leaked it to Wal-mart that is a different story.

My brother had my little sister take him to his therapist my sister wanted to know what he was talking about in his therapy sessions with her so he said I'll tell you what I'm saying to my therapist sister but you are not allowed to tell anybody else in the family. Because my brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia and with PTSD. My brother told my sister about his diagnosis and has been telling her about what's going on in his therapy sessions for the last few months unbeknownst to my brother and me she has been going behind my brother's back and telling the entire family about his health issues and his especially his mental health issues. When he clearly told her do not tell a soul what I'm telling you now I've worked in the medical field for 7 years and I know this is a HIPAA violation but I want to know your opinion because that is his personal medical information she confirmed verbally that she would not tell a soul and she would keep it between him and her no matter what.
