Brilliant explanation Simon 🏌️♂️⛳️
@@stevenharris5662 thanks Steven
Great video. Currently play vf in the driver and hd in the fairway woods. Graphite design are great shafts
Thanks Julian
Great contrast Simon. My Launch Angle with The Driver is roughly 16.5.Paradym Triple Diamond at 8 Degree with Ventus Blue TR in X.Titleist AVX Ball.Spin 2800.108 Driver Speed 155 Ball Speed 255 Carry.Should have came to you for the Fitting.#Raging. HRL
They are all low spin components so you are doing all the right things!
@@Precision_Golf Apart from my Swing lol.
Great insight as usual. Since I would be using a fairway wood to stop on a green the softer tip would be for me. One question though, with adjustable shafts/heads if I deloft the face would the softer tip act more like the stiff tip or would I create more spin?
On my callaway the shaft alignment doesnt change regardless of how i set the head / neck… therefore assume I’m not changing the top / kick characteristics at all…
The spin relative to launch would still be good but reducing the lift will bring both launch and spin down so more akin to the lower spin shaft
Great comparison Simon. Do stock shafts maimly have the high spin shafts in them?
Absolutely - much cheaper to make but also better for moderate speed players to have a softer tip shaft!
Great comparison Simon. Out of curiosity, did the stiffer tip shaft result in a slightly higher strike, less dynamic loft or some other change in your delivery that caused the lower spin?
It reduced the dynamic loft slightly due to the reduced movement at the tip of the shaft but these were also two pretty different profiles do you need to make a decent difference in shaft set up to see this much change. Head and swing will affect flight more directly
Interesting comparison Simon, not too many shaft companies offer a FW specific shaft. Feel preferences also play a part.
Absolutely - the smaller heads do require slightly different characteristics so you usually see a softer profile shaft in the fairway wood to the driver
Would be nice to compare the VF and graphite design specific Fw wood shaft on a 3wood
Assume you mean to test personally as these were the exact two shafts tested in the video?
