I appreciate the explanation on why the ballast resistor was installed by Jeep. I knew bypassing them is common, mine is bypassed. I agree, don't care about a little extra pump noise for the benefit of reliability.

I plugged in a fuse to test mine.
When the fuel level gets down around 1/4 the pump is loud.
My carpet is not in the best shape though.
