I liked your bike park review. I am a local teen who has lived here all my life and ride trestle all summer. The town review was not very accurate though because there are an abundance of bars and clubs that are open past midnight.
While I like your review of the trails and the bike park, your impression that the village is bigger than down town Winter Park is way off. Did you guys try Deno's or Volarios for fine dining, The Ditch on 40 for a Ditch burger and margarita? How about Pepe Osaka's for tacos, Hernando's Pizza Pub, Randi's Grill, Opa! for Gyros? How about Hideaway Park Brewery or The Peak for craft brews, or Idlewild Spirits? This is maybe a 1/4 of all the restaurants and bars in the town of WP. Oh, you want some crazy night life? You should have gone to Ullrs Tavern (Locals hang out) which always has a good band on the weekends and doesn't even get kicking till after 10:00pm. Any way guys, like I said liked your review of the bike park and village, but the rest, not so much. Oh, and good riding guys!
Well shoot Ricky! That is a pretty solid list of recommendations. Wish we bumped into you while we were in town. haha. We typically do a fair amount of research both before our arrival and while in town. Appreciate the input and maybe we'll go back next year for a Pt. 2 and hit up some of these spots. Thanks!
Fraser hotdogs next to denos and hideaway brewery has the best food in town. Hotdogs, burgers, and more. They even have a veggie option if you your into that kind of thing.
VERY good and INFORMATIVE review! Thanks. I might add, I recently went to Beech in North Carolina and rode my 2017 Remedy. It was enough bike for that park BUT with being there just one day, a DH rig might have enabled me to ride another hour or two because fatigue set in and shut my old self down, LOL! Again, great review. I really enjoyed it guys.
Great review. The town though is getting bigger and it’s not actually that small. Also Fraser is like 3 minutes away from winter park so you can kind of group them together. Overall great review though
Funny that traverses are an issue in the bike park too. The mountain itself and lift layout lend itself to these long flat traverses. The same thing happens snowboarding there in the winter.
Took my first trip recently ... Paper Boy, Happy Camper and Shy Ann were fun blue trails i mostly rode the first day b4 progressing to the black trails (36 Chambers was my favorite). Sick trails and terrific review of the park, only minor nitpick would be town of WP (5 minutes down the road) is a lot bigger than the little village. Not a nightlife guy but was surprised at the variety and quality of dinner options ... We'd get breakfast at the crepe place (spot on, went there from their recommendation and didn't disappoint) and grab dinner at Deno's one night and Pepe's (really good fish tacos) the next.
Great review; thanks! Next year is going to include a lot of downhill (and longer trail rides...and more bike park time), so this is key info. Thinking of renting an upscale downhill/enduro bike (at least once), to compare to my old Scott hardtail. PS, I hear the rental service offers some good season-end deals on used bikes.
The bike industry as a whole has lower prices. Pink Bike is a great way to get used bikes. Also, coming form a hard tail, you will LOVE full suspension. It is a HUUUUUGE game changer; I know it was for me a couple decades ago.
Would it make sense to have one's base camp at breckonridge or denver for more of the night life/overall family vacation thing and just make the 1hr 25min drive out?
I would just recommend a lighter DH bike or beefy enduro bike. 180mm enduro vs rocks box boxxer type DH like a commencal furious or a YT tues. they’re both light enough to throw around in the lighter stuff but still forgiving. A good damper is a must with an air fork though.
Just got back from a family trip to Colorado where i went mountain biking. Drove through Rocky Mountain National and passed Trestle in Winter Park. Had no idea that's where Trestle was. Got a little angry because ive always heard how good of a park that was.
As others say, you guys give a solid review of the entire area, especially from an outsider's point of view. Everyone else points out restaurants you've missed and some other local spots too, but as your description states, you are reviewing the park more than the rest... The last thing we locals want is you giving away all of our secrets and to get overloaded with people like happens at Whistler, so I'd give you guys a 10+ for this honest review. If you come back out here, talk to the locals a bit more and get the scoop on the stuff we don't want to advertise ;) Now I'm going to go and watch all of your other reviews as I wait two more days until Trestle opens for the season!
Great info video! However, I think I would rate this park a little higher. You didn't mention all the stuff nearby. Granby is a close by town with a lot more to do than Winter Park (the one you mentioned with a safeway), and there's 2 or 3 bike shops between Trestle and there. Rocky Mountain National Park is just to the north, and you could easily spend a day or two there. Estes park is on the far side of RMNP, and the giant Hotel that The Shining was filmed at is in that area. Roughly an hour drive puts you in Hot Sulphur Springs Colorado, which has a pretty cool hot springs resort with hot tubs on different tiers of a hillside. If you include this area, I'd give it a 9.
Definitely all good suggestions! It's not like this park is literally in the middle of nowhere, it's just compared to parks like Mammoth or Whistler, it does lack slightly in the extra activities department for dining and night life. All depends on what you're into though. If it's camping, hiking and outdoor stuff that gets you excited, Winter Park definitely provides!
I think we ran out of time this summer! Hopefully we can get enough interest to do a season 2 and come out to the amazing parks we know are waiting for us back east!
I rode the last two weekends there, was really good and tacky two weekends ago after the rain, and this past Saturday was packed and fast from that same rain.
We certainly tried our best. And even when we were in the van we had fun talking crap to each other... Life on the road gets a bit challenging and with a limited budget we pretty much had to hit a place get it done as cost effectively as possible and get to the next one. But, we'll keep that in mind and try to have a bit more fun if in season 2.
Just moved here for my first season of work and i don’t quite agree with the pints on the night life here. don’t go to winter park. go to Fraser, Tabernash, or Granby for bars at night
Winter park was designed for only skiing. I am from Colorado. This review is horrible. There is so much shopping, eating, even a rec center and many bars. There is a local brewery even, with just colorado beers. There is mini-golf, zip line, ect, ect, ect. This is the absolute worst review.
Winter park is good, especially in the winter if you ski park. The drive is tough, it’s not right off the freeway like other ski areas. On mountain dining is lame, pizza peddler sucks and the Starbucks is a lame franchise location with much less choice. I agree the sandwich place is good.
Lots of people care actually. It’s one of the most common things we’ve gotten tons of thanks for. For many people, other amenities besides the trails are equally important to their vacation.
i RACED FOR iNTENSE IN 1994, wINTER pARKS CHANGED A TON SINCE THEN. mY M1, M3, M6and Uzzi DH, M8 are worth a tron today the 1st of the downhill bikes. Peace, Monaco's got way better downhillin with Austria Italy Switerland and France. The USA is still catching up..
I can't believe how this good of a channel can go so unnoticed:( luv u guys
Your guys videos are excellent! Thanks for the bike park reviews!
Thank you very much!
Oh wow amazing hiking bicycle and the place its relaxing and refreshing. I watched until end
Thank you for the review guys, the park looks awesome no matter what trails to ride. Night life after a hard day of riding, it doesn't hurt a bit.
Our pleasure!

Hey asher
Asher Michel hi ash
Well said. 👍🏼
chest and back wise, what can you rent beside the fox full upper body suit, do they offer a chest back panel armor?
Yo asher
Cruel and Unusual is one of my favorites!
Yes it's definitely an awesome trail!
YAY you guys helped me plan my next trip!! Subscribed!! Aloha from Hawaii :-D
Looking forward to it. Bout to hit it up in a few weeks! Feel like i should do at least 2 days no doubt. Thanks.
My local mountain! Great and accurate review! I currently have the Strava KOM on Cruel and Unusual, come fight me next year!
36th chamber is really fun when thers no wind

Just took my first trip there from PA ... Pepe's fish tacos are amazing!!
Thanks fellas. Wifey and I are headed here today.

Thanks for watching and appreciate the compliments.

Yeah, they were way off on the actual town of Winter Park.
Thanks for the input. It did look like some solid growth was happening and we look forward to coming back again.
hah, i just broke my collarbone on rainmaker 2 weeks ago! i love the park though!
We've all been there! Heal quick.
Ayy! Join the club. Spinal fracture on Rainmaker just after the High Lonesome lift 2 years ago
I've also broken my collarbone on Rainmaker! We should start a club

Thanks for the input and critique! Glad you had a good time and enjoyed the park.
One small section that you have to pedal 95% of the mountain is non pedal downhill. By far this is the best downhill riding I’ve experienced.
Great review
Thanks fellas
I think it would be great if they let us night ride there. That will add another level to all the trails!
You guys should have tried the “warmup bowl” by the small red lift

What happens when you crush a rental bike like really bad do you pay for a new one or what are the steps taken

Ahhh shoot. Well, next time you know! Definitely worth a stop.
@@TheLoamWolf Yeah, I'll probably be going back in a couple of years.
Its Frazier Colorado it is past winter park and there are a lot of restaurants
I think my Ripmo AF will be quite happy here!
There is a a downtown down the road from the resort it is in Fraser it has a skate park and a bunch of restaurants
Please review Telluride, Brian Head, Purgatory and Angel Fire
what bike rack do you guys use?
E bike Friendly? Did I miss it? You usually say if it is.

We're hoping to but not sure if this summer is gonna be happening or we gotta wait til next year... Definitely want to get there.
That gap on Cruel and Unusual! Styled it! Killer camping so who cares about the nightlife!
Did they actually go downtown it's way bigger then the village
Yes we did go downtown. It's pretty nice, but still not a ton of options. We really loved the Indian food restaurant!
Did you guys hit “banana peal”?
They should have mentioned it
I snowboarded that mountain 2 days ago

You haven't seen blown out until you've ridden Granby...
DnBQemist don’t you just love sand pits after scary tech features
