The fact that it kind of sucks is what makes it so great this is my home mountain it will make you a bad ass.

Keystone is built off-flow and challenging and that's what makes it special. Every jump and corner needs to be learned, no blind sends. Keystone is a 10/10 and more parks could benefit from old school, east coast style of trail building.

Thank you for sharing your opinion Mark! I personally am not the biggest fan of flow trail-ing the earth, so it's nice to hear other people's impressions of places too.

The fact that Keystone isn't full of firetrails with jumps is the thing that attracted me to Keystone, and I was due to go back again this year but for COVID. We've also found that accommodation is a lot cheaper and the quality much higher than places like Trestle, Crested Butte or Whistler. I've only got 2 complaints about the Keystone trails, Paid In Full (and some others) have too many long traverses across the ski runs that just burn a lot of energy for zero fun, and I would have liked a blue trail option from the bottom of Mosquito Coast to the village rather than having to slowly wind down the green trail or the very hectic black and double black trails.

This was a good overview of the park and Keystone itself. I haven't actually seen any good overall videos or descriptions of the park so I'm glad I caught this one. The fact that there are only 4 guys maintaining all those trails speaks to the management of the entire resort. If y'all didn't know, this is one of the Vail Resorts mountains and that shows up big time with certain aspects of this place. Sadly, at least at the moment, they are not opening the biking this summer in lieu of focusing on 'scenic chairlift rides".

Keystone has been so amazing this year! Still very techy, but the flow is improved by the sounds of your review

Spot on with your review. I live here and took a beginner and regretted it. Mosquito Coast is the most fun trail there IMO.

Watching these reviews before my first time mountain biking. Not giving me the best hope but also sounds fun!

First time I rode Keystone (95?) was on a crappy Costco full squish, with no pads or helmet. That was scary...but fun. Good review - thanks.

Totally agree with your comments on Keystone's flow trails. I always found myself going way too fast for the angle of the lips and the length of the jumps.

Love me some Keystone. Seems like they pretty much do trail work every OTHER season, but if you like the rough, it's glorious. You guys should check out Vail as well. It's extremely underrated.

Thanks Zach. We do love some rough n rowdy, but we try to put aside personal preferences and pick scores for the greater majority of travelers so they have an idea what to expect. Vail could be a great stop for season 2! thanks.

@@TheLoamWolf I hear ya! I don't disagree with any of what you said in the review. It's a bit more fun if you know what you're getting into with Keystone, and this was probably the most in depth Keystone clip on the Tube. (If you can, hit Vail toward the end of Sept. It's chock full of blingin' aspens.)

Spot on. I feel like they took a good trail then just randomly added a jump. Not really setup for trail speed, or even progressive.

Big fan of gnar and have a DH bike. Would you guys recommend Keystone over Trestle, overall?

Steep and short jumps. They shape their winter terrain park jumps the same way?
    They need some assistance
