At 71 years of age I had doubts as to if I’d ever see any of the château finished. Considering this year’s progress I’m feeling better about my chances.
I can't wait to see what it will look like in 20 years...
@@masterspin7796 it would be going against my genetics to think that I’d be around in twenty years so will just enjoy what progress that Dan has made.
@65 I probably won't be around either...@@alcloud4265
me at 61 thought the same... hang in there
@@alcloud4265he is on 🔥... we got this
If you had Nic triplets all the time you'd have the whole Chateau roofed by the end of the week.
Dan holds his own. Dan, Nick and Cameron work their a**es off.
Nic is a triplet, the other 2 are camera shy.
In some of the videos Dan IS a triplet. Oh dear, has anyone seen Multiplicity?
Right
@@Flippin_Crazy with Nick triplets and Dan quadruplets they'd be even better!
Bravo to Axminster for supporting Dan with all the amazing tools you sponsored! We can see how the build has ‘sped’ up as a result of having the correct tools ⚒️ 👍🏻👏🏻🇳🇿
I agree. How about Dan makes a sign above the work bench with Axmaster on it so all of us and newbies know who sponsored him.
Ooops...meant to say AXMINSTER!! 😂😊
What a help Axminster is …plus Nic ! Progress is fantastic ….
Ill hijack your post in hopes he reads this.
Keep those pre war steel beams. Here's why cut and pasted from the internet.
Pre-war steel, more accurately termed low-background steel, is any steel produced before the first nuclear bomb was detonated on the 16th of July, 1945. Codenamed “Trinity,” this detonation would change the world in many ways, including chemically. Nuclear explosions released into the atmosphere dozens of radioactive isotopes that had never before existed in nature, such as Plutonium-239, Strontium-90, Caesium-137, and Technetium-99.
pre-war steel is precious for applications requiring little contamination from radionuclides. This includes scientific equipment, medical equipment, and some aerospace applications
Just thought maybe some extra cash would help.
Keep up the good work
He needs to be giving them some serious advertising within the videos. This video went to an ad break and showed B&Q.
It's so good to have someone you trust by your side, with whom you can consult, make decisions and work together!
With each steel girder, each wood beam, and each noggin the chateau is becoming stronger and stronger. So beautiful to see the progress!
Live and learn with how to succeed at a steadier, constant pace. Helps to have Nick on board. Who needs a 'thigh master' when you have to go up and down ladders carrying heavy equipment and wood a zillion times a day!
@@sushirulesThere is no doubt everyone, that positivity rules the day, and positive thoughts should rule our tongue, and our day, everyday! For positive energy radiates a day not ruled by the ego, but by God, and that is life lead much closer to nirvana, my old friend! Seek, and ye shall find! The eternal kingdom is open to everyone! Thomas!
Heads up for positive comments! AMEN 🙏 Thomas!
Dan, congratulations on your c-section. It now means that a new section of floor has been born. 🎉
This was a clever response!!! 😂
I'm always amused when he says C-Section 😆
@@raresaturnThe very first time Dan mentioned getting a c-section I was going crazy wondering exactly what he meant because he is a man after all.
Lol
clever! 😂😂
Good to see Nick wearing all the safety gear. Dan I wish you would copy his example, and protect your lungs from all that dust and crap
hearing protection !?
@@johumm455Dan stands under a moving I Beam. All the time. Maybe he’s invincible. Nic knows better.
*_ says to Dan, "Be a bit more Safety conscious about the dust in your lungs Dan" and then promptly lights another rolled cigarette (Or is it tabaco.... Mmmmmm?) _*
Absolutely - I wish I knew how my lack of protection when I was young would impact my lungs today...
Well done lads,your amazing K🇬🇧❤️❤️
Oh no, I just got into bed !!! Looks like I'll be counting NOGGINS tonight and not sheep! Keep up the good work, the speed at the moment is crazy !!!
NOGGINGS 😊
I never heard of "NOGGINS " until I watched this show .
That new Workshop that was given to you is a godsend. All those tools are making it much much easier for you to get the jobs done.
Amazing how fast it was for you to get all the iron in and leveled and locked in place amd getting half of the central floor in.
Nick looks like he is having a fair bit of fun helping you out too.
Keep up the magic work guys, it looks like the chateau will be done fairly quickly.
I remember you using a ladder to reach that balcony and struggling to get the solar panels up there. Now look at you! Well done Dan!
Love the way you superimpose yourself and Nick on the video.
So excited for more Chateau!!! ❤
I do miss dailies, but SUPER impressed with the sheer amount of work getting done!!!
Once a gardener, always a gardener 😂😊
Dan was a chef!
I am overwhelmed at the progress only two men can have. Just ordering, delivering supplies is a full time job. And you edit film. Headspinner!
I think the friendship that has developed between you and Nick is amazing! It’s obvious that you really trust him!
I love hearing the birds. You have really gotten down to it and going faster each video.
Dan I'm so glad you have Nick, you definitely match each other , two of the hardest working men, both gentleman in the truest sense of the word and have great sense of humour.👏👏👏👏👏❤️🙏😌
The reason I am so addicted to these videos is because of the huge sense of doubt when I saw the first reveal of the new project. I couldn't see this dilapidated building being resurrected but wanted to believe that it could happen. Every episode, the doubt decreases. I find the whole thing pretty inspiring. Dan - your vision and tenacity is remarkable!
As I've said previously, "that lift is worth its weight in gold." It has proven invaluable. And those new tools, WOW. Thank you Axminster!!
Nick and Dan are really getting after this floor installing now with their new system of installing the C steel frames first then the wood beams just fall right together!
Wow! The speed at which this is moving is inspiring. Just shows the importance of experience. Well done, Dan.
It is a dream come true! All those Nicks! I'm floating on air!!!
It's amazing how fast the floors are going up in this wing now that you have all the processes worked out. Really nice work.
What a thrill it must have been to be able to see that view for the first time!! Every look through the doors and windows has been magnificent, but for the first time… just wow. Congratulations on such quick and magnificent progress you and the team have made.
The château angels are clapping hands. They are saying thank you
I didnt think Dan would be even thinking about the interior for another 3 years but the speed with which he is knocking the floor up, I think in another 12 months we will be discussing wallpapers lol
The floors are going in so much faster on this side. Great planning of course. Very satisfying to watch!
Oh you have all of your garden blossoming to look forward to! It will be amazing!
I think your band of tradesmen are fantastic . Great friends as well.
Lordy - when do you ever sleep? If I worked as hard as you, I would be out cold as soon as the sun set!! But, no - you're uploading videos in the middle of the night!
he has kids to care for too...
@@johumm455 Not unless it’s a weekend…
Danza young man. He should be able to do that. I was a woman construction worker for 25 years and I did it and went to the gym and sometimes walk 5 miles at night. I admit that that was a little crazy but when you’re young, you can do that kind of stuff.
I’m hoping that by now he has an editor
I need a nap every time I watch.
Wow that ole steel girder was in remarkable condition when you cut it
Shows you the quality of materials back in the day
It's kind of weird they cut it out at all if it was still good quality rather than just sanding/painting it. But I guess it's important to know the quality of what's gone in.
@@carlotta4th I'm wondering the same. Curious about any engineering assessments performed on the old structure that's been exposed without a roof for so long. For example, Dan doesn't explain why he decided that I beam needed replacing or how a new metal beam will be attached. Or how he calculated the structural loads needed.
@@SuziSellsSound If I remember right, Dan once said that the old steel beams aren't strong enough for the loads they'll be under after the renovations. Plus they went through a fire so you wouldn't want to leave them there anyway.
@@SentinalhMC Ah! A hot fire could weaken the metal. I just started watching the channel. Good to know Dan checked loads. Does he have to pass structural building inspections?
@@SuziSellsSound I know he's been working with a structural engineer from the beginning
I was getting flashbacks of you lighting your pants on fire. Glad this was done safely. 🔥
The great leap in progress is phenomenal! From the arduous first trial and errors to the systematic progress today, what an adventure
This is going to be an amazing home ❤
Look at you and Nick go. You two work well together. Pretty soon "the roof" Cant wait
Is it me, or is Nic an absolute force of nature. What he can do in a day would take me a month. Then wait, he has the power to clone himself as well.... Bravo!
What!!!! Now that's some monumental progress 👏 👏 2 almost floors in 2 uploads 2 more we'll be watching the roof going up.
Thanks for explaining how the steel was connected to walls.
So the room on top is the master room
Love hearing the birds🐦
Love to see all this progress. You & Nick are getting to be such a great team and good engineers too.😊Crack On !
amazing how much good steel is still in those rusted beams
Yeap
With all that experience you gained doing the first side you got it down now.
Moving really fast, and you have good help.
I think we are all happy and excited for you and others doing this type of thing.
Cant wait to see the chateau finished in the future
Hi Dan. I'm very glad you have your intrepid trusty friend Nick there to make sure you don't kill yourself with those beams !!
The New Dan and Nick Show, is a huge hit! Great Progress, a refreshing move to Getting a roof on!
Well! That is going lickety split! You are all getting very good at re-establishing the floors. Can't wait to see your process on the remaining stonework! Weel done!
Congratulations on walking to the balcony. I’m glad you didn’t film it as the floor didn’t actually line up with it. However good for you. It’s a fabulous fantastic achievement. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
Two dogs and three Nicks, what more could Dan ask for?❤😂
I’m glad the weather has been cooperating.
Sadly, it's going to be very wet right down the Atlantic edge of Europe in the next few days. Colder too.
Ma serie preféréee❤
How exciting! The progress is astounding! Congratulations. I'm so happy for you!
This side is coming along nicely, surprising how quickly once you have a system very impessive
So glad that nic is with you
Anyone restoring an old property like this deserves all the luck and support they can get.. Bravo you and all your supporters!!!
Tools + Experience + Knowledgeable people = great progress!
Dan you and Nick just are moving so much faster and way more efficiently 🎉
You and Nic are amazing, Dan! Thanks for continuing to share your rebuilding journey with us!
I have been waiting all day for this.. yay!
me too lol
I really must stop drinking. I see you have loads of help.
That is a great way to work, you'll getting so close to all the floors.😊
Wow, Dan, you're tearing through this part of the Château. Bravo!
❤Nick & his brothers. They Rock it! 👍🏻💞😊
It’s amazing how fast this side went up. Wow!
Enjoying every moment! 🪚🔨👍🏻🤎🤎
It’s great how much quicker things get done when the sun is out! So more steels need to arrive. The dangling branch was removed, but it looks like someone’s very dirty sweatshirt is still hanging out to dry! The progress is rapid, every day the changes are dramatic. 🎉
Wow, that's amazing how much faster the floor comes together with the C channel/beams compared to the other wing where you put each piece of wood into the wall.
Nic lost his foot at 22-seconds.. LOL.. I love that fun editing you do at times. Really moving along using all you have learned from the past. Imagine the work tht would get done with 3 Nics!!
Super impressive the amount of work you can get done when you have help!
Quite the team. I wish you had an entire crew working on this. Yes I know that would be expensive. I just don't want you to be so tired you have an accident or get Chateau burn out! I look forward to each video ❤
I've been impressed with your work ethic since I discovered you, and nothing has changed. You're like a dog with bone. Nothing is going to stop you!
Congratulations on continuing success. 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤😊
I hate it when people say "you deserve it" but Dan definitely works his butt off and genuinely does deserve his good fortune. I am so excited for the floors and roof to be done so we dont have to constantly hold our breath to see if he makes it to the end of the episode (although, given that Dan edits his videos, I suppose that is a given LOL)
Holding my breath as I visually walked with you across that floor section into the next room. Awesome. Absolutely thrilling! So proud of you and Nick. Can't wait for the next video.
Most excellent Brother's 😎👍❤️❤️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️💯💯💯💯💯
I'm 74 thought the same thing 🤗
Dan & Nick are Amazing workers 👍🤗👍🤗
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Oh good you have 3 pictives helping you today. Hope your feeling well again. Such fun following your journey.
Looking forward to the next video.
Nic × 3..........Love it!❤ With Nic helping you out, Dan, you are set! Thanks for the video!
Respect to you both .really looking forward to next installment.
The view from the balcony is truly amazing, more so because of all the hard work it has taken Dan and Crew to get to that point. Keep up the incredible job! We're cheering for you.
I think if anyone asked me, at 72 could I help build something I could say yea, Brother Dan showed how he did so an so. Thank u for allowing us to tag along with u an watch a great miracle taking place in France. Take care😊
So inspiring what one or two people can accomplish.
I was really emotional about this episode. It was the tree on that side of the chateau which originally gave me that bittersweet heart ache for what a remarkable building the chateau had been and could be again. I love watching Dan reclaim it with a little help from his friends!
Man the 2 of you are flying! It is looking great.
Wow wow such progress 🦘🇦🇺🦘🇦🇺
Still watching, amazing progress. 👏 So pleased you have Nick working with you right now.
Noggins!!!
You and Nick are such good working mates, I'm always blown away by guys carrying the sheets of flooring like they do, I have a hard time just dragging them, but then I'm just a girl...lol...good work guys...!
Ima an ole gal myself... destroyed shoulders carrying more than i should. Better to drag them sweety
miss the daily ones but this is doing better cause you have more time to get the floors in.
I know what you mean but he has a life and kids and I think the vids are better quality and Dan looks so much more relaxed.
Agree, he's making much better progress and also better vlogs on this new schedule. Go Dan!
How good is it to have Nick helping, he's a trooper and I loved seeing three of him at the start of the video. Great job guys, things are certainly moving ahead well now xxx
Amazing how fast that's all going now that you have a consistent procedure and a little help (and all those nice machines). It must feel great to make so much progress and be able to start thinking about a second roof and then rebuilding the pillars under the salon. Great work, Dan! Keep it up!
Remember when all you had was a ladder, a bucket, and your arms and legs!
If you have your own mill you can go from loggin' to noggin' in no time. Oh, hey... was that the last tree?
When you removed the tree branch while on that walkway, I got nervous. 😮 Hi to Nick, the brick, it's all moving quickly. 🇬🇧
He does way too much drilling into things he's standing on for my liking.
Cela doit être très satisfaisant d'être là haut pour la première fois ❤
Machines! Great refinement of building methodology.
Wow looks like a proper room with the fireplace and flooring 🎉 well done.
Superb digger driving Nick with that I beam on a roller skate 🤣🥰Dan these moments when you can access new parts of the Chateau are what you deserve for all your hard work. Enjoy!
So glad to see that rusty steel gone - and new installed!
Fabulous!! You are speeding through it now ❤️ so impressive!!
SUPERB Videography & WOW Progress !! More multiples of Dan & Nick needed…in Real Life! ❤from Montreal
You certainly have this down pat …..it is going slicker and faster….that is remarkable
I really love you video sir
Each floor brings more and more excitement. I love this adventure and feel excited for you Dan. Thank you bringing all of us along on this journey.
Amazing!
I am amazed at your progress these past couple of days!!! I was skeptical, but you proved me wrong, I am very sorry to underestimate your (and Nick's) abilities.. very happy the weather is cooperating. best of luck as always. Love watching your progress.
Damn, picking up the pace! Months for the first tower, weeks for the second. Brilliant!
Love the editing! So excited for you! We'll done you two!
Excellent! Thanks for the inspiration Dan!
