BT's Kei Pritsker spoke to Cuban scientists about how this treatment could revolutionize diabetes treatment.

Cuba is a wonderful place and the blockade was wrong and immoral 60 years ago and is still wrong and unjustified today. Cuba libre!! 🇨🇺
There is no such a thing as a blockade to Cuba, is an economic embargo, to be a blockade will require the island to be surrounded by sea and air, and nothing will be allowed to coming and go out of Cuba which is not the case.
It shows that the US government doesn't really give a toss about the lives of its own people. It is more concerned for dominating other countries and the egos of its politicians.
It is such irony, that almost everybody outside of U$ know it, except americans.
Persimon: Bottom line, this is about money. Perhaps if Cuba was willing to turn over all patents to some American pharmaceutical company and sign away all financial return, then maybe Americans could get this treatment.
Cuba is also suppose to have a miracle type cure for lung cancer, but I can't verify that. Maybe Break Through News could look into that.

Bezos and Musk and Gates and Buffet, etc. don't become the richest men in the world by having a bleeding heart. And when their companies go bankrupt due to their negligent behavior, it's those narcissists politicians who step in and give them hundreds of billions of dollars to correct their mistakes. If these companies went under or almost go under it would be a coin flip if the US government would step in to help I would say yes only because of how much these companies generate in profits but maybe not because the US government would have allocate money away from other areas such as the military industry
I have a sneaky feeling that America is ashame to know that inspite of their deliberate destruction of the Cuban economy for ever so long, the country still manage to achieve advances in areas of medicine that they the Americans fail to achieve

In this particular case, I think not. This treatment isn't a cure for diabetes, but rather it drastically reduces amputationa (which the pharm corps dont deal with) and extenda patients life who still has diabetes and will therefore need to buy their meds for a longer period of time. This treatment would actually be more profitable for pharma corps for that reason.
The reason to maintain the blockade is purely political. They can not afford for the world to see thar a Socialist country can succeed, so they try to blockade it into oblivion.

Sadly yes. It all comes down to greed, the original sin of humanity. Admittedly this is taking a long time,, but there have been trials on Heberprot-P in the US. The US firm Mercurio Biotec signed an agreement with the Cuban government years ago.
