Hi dear Dr.., thank you so much for all the guidance. Yes, you are spot on with the Cinnamon. I’m a Sri Lankan/American. Visiting Sri Lanka these days. My father in law grows Cinnamon here in Sri Lanka. He is very proud of his Cinnamon grow. Sri Lanka was formerly called “Ceylon” during the time it was under the British colonization. It is like Ceylon tea ☕️. The best Cinnamon in the world is Ceylon Cinnamon. It is pronounced “Silon” even though it starts with a “C” again thank you for all your teachings and guidance. 🙏🏽💐❤️
Dr Berg, could you please summarise all of your diabetic videos and put into a quick guide for dummies with what to take, when to take it and which exercises to do. Many thanks.
Add cinnamon to scrambled eggs, it's absolutely fantastic. Best method, when you heat the frying pan use butter to coat the pan (I guess lard would work too, but I use butter) and add the cinnamon to the melted butter in the pan. That's because cinnamon isn't water soluble so it won't dissolve into eggs but it is fat soluble so adding it to the butter works a treat. When you add your egg mix and start scrambling it you'll basically be mixing in the butter and cinnamon in a very consistent fashion.
I really appreciate your post. I’m pre diabetic and eat scrambled eggs every morning. I will now follow your instructions and see for myself the results. I’ve tried it in tea but it doesn’t dissolve and stays at the bottom of the cup. Thank you for your post!
I used cinnamon for years with success but when I stopped (probably ran out and forgot about it) my insulin levels increased and I am now considered Type 2. Thanks for this video and the reminder, I've started adding cinnamon to my iced coffee and will begin taking capsules on a daily basis as soon as my order arrives.

Maria, how did you determine how many mg. to take daily ? Dr. Berg is only referring to powdered form, but since my diet is very limited, I will not be ingesting the powdered form. Thank you for any advice.
Dr Berg, It is pronounced as "c" as the letter C and "lone" in alone put together. Some people pronounce the latter part as "lon" in Salon but growing up as their neighbour (India) we always call them as I mentioned. It is the other name for Sri Lanka. You may also want to check out the benefits of fenugreek seeds. Thanks for all the info as usual.
I can attest to this working wonders! Well tbh I'm not 100% sure if it's the cinnamon itself but I've been taken a mix of spices which includes ginger, cinnamon, Cardamoms, Cloves, black pepper and nutmeg ( ingredients written in that order) and adding it to my tea first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening after my last meal and I've seen a 20% decrease in my fasting blood glucose - from pre diabetic numbers to excellent numbers in the 4s!!!I also tried it post pandrial ( within 2hrs after consuming my meal and saw numbers I've never seem before, this is even after eating foods with carbs like rice and a half glass of baileys 😉. I am a sceptical person so I didnt want to believe that it was the spice mix but the numbers I was seeing were insanely low compared to before I started taking these spices. In addition, the researcher in me even went as far as experimenting with going some days without taking these spices on a normal carb diet and lo and behold my pre numbers came back again! Not sure if this is a good sign though as it suggests the effects of this mix are short term 🤔 if within a couple of days the numbers go up again. But anyway 1 or more of the ingredients I have listed does have an effect and I think combining it with a low carb lifestyle would be the best approach.
For breakfast I eat a cup of my wife’s homemade yogurt with a spoonful of Vietnamese cinnamon on it. I add pumpkin seeds, ground flax seeds and MCT oil. I usually add a cup of blueberries. It’s nutritious and delicious.
Cinnamon can be snuck into many things like soups, stews, stir fry. I use it in my main course meals 90% of the time. Wouldn’t even know it’s in there but we all get the benefits.
I roast coffee beans and then add cinnamon while they are still smokin' hot and I really like it! I also take cinnamon and make my own supplements for extra benefit. Been doing this for years - mainly for circulation. What a difference. And, thank you Dr. Berg because I now have more reason to keep taking it.
@@amaama3656 well, that answers my question about using the powder in a cup of tea ! But, if I buy it in sticks, I will simply break off a piece and let it steep in the cup of hot water for awhile. ❤️

VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE: that the effect of blunting blood sugar spikes is specific to “CASSIA CINNAMON” which is also known as Cinnamomum cassia (Chinese cinnamon). Studies showed that 2 teaspoons of “cassia cinnamon” powder blunts blood sugar up-to 12 hours and it was because of it’s high amount of “COUMARIN,” BUT studies have also shown that just a teaspoon a day of “cassia cinnamon” can show toxicity to the liver so it was advised to switch to ceylon cinnamon removing the coumarin toxicity but also the benefit of blunting glucose, HOWEVER it is still advised to take about a teaspoon of ceylon cinnamon per day for it’s antioxidant benefit
Agree ive heard this before and that there really isnt much evidence that Ceylon Cinnamon lower blood sugar only Cassia cinnamon but may be advised to take low doses or take a few weeks on and off to prevent any liver Toxicity
I am glad to see this video. Specially because of Ceylon(si-laahn) cinnamon. 😊. I am a Sri lanakan and my mom teaches me to drink a glass of cinnamon water or a glass of water soaked in fenugreek if I feel my sugar level is high. I love sweets. But I control it a lot now. Sometimes I eat a lot of sweets and I feel/notice the high sugar level, so I drink either cinnamon or fenugreek soaked water on the same day. My symptoms disappear then. Dr.Berg, please educate everyone about fenugreek too. I really appreciate your free health education via RUclips.

I put cinnamon in my daily cup of coffee. It's delicious! It feels a bit 'grainy' when you swallow, but you get used to that. 😊😊☕
The best way in my opinion to consume Cinnamon regularly is in Tea form drinking it. You can just make whatever Tea you want, like and just drop or break a larger stick of Cinnamon in it and let it flavor out in the hot liquid tea.
@@earthishome1866 I can’t explicitly say if it does or not. I don’t think it does though. Cinnamon in powdered form is grinder down from a bark of a tree. That’s where Cinnamon sticks comes from. Cinnamon sticks or fresher Cinnamon in form have a more intense flavor and aroma. Cinnamon buy it’s properties and including what the good doctor has already said in the video basically helps to regulate sugar in the body and it’s very effective in doing so. Use good quality Cinnamon spice, the fresher the better. Stuff that’s been sitting for years in powdered form on a grocery shelf is obviously just not as good and has lost much it’s effective potency.

I normally consume Ceylon cinnamon by adding it to my apple cider vinegar. I put a little ACV in a 16 oz water bottle & fill with water to the top. I add some cinnamon to it & take a few sips daily. I keep it refrigerated.
cinnamon partially deactivates the enzyme amylase (which breaks down sugars and carbohydrates into forms that can be absorbed), causing a slower absorption of sugars, thus stabilizing your blood sugar over time. the doses must be pretty large to have a noticeable effect though so i'm not sure if is 1 teaspoon enough.

Sinnamon?😁
@@bossdog1480 Ya Mon! 😁
I always thought it was pronounced "say-lon", thank you for the correction 😊
Dr Berg, could you please summarise all of your diabetic videos and put into a quick guide for dummies with what to take, when to take it and which exercises to do. Many thanks.
Cinnamon is so beneficial. I've been taking cinnamon supplements for many years and I believe it has helped to keep my blood sugar lower.
You can chew on cinnamon bark. Or put it into tea.
Goes well in tea with green Cardamon. Delicious.
A beautiful drink , Sri Lanka staple
So what was your diet like when you was taking cinnamon compared to when you stopped?
There are two men I trust. My Dad and Dr Berg. Thank you for getting right to all of your life extending/improving information!

Ceylon Cinnamon has been in my diet for a while now, so this is great information for me! Thank you!
Where do you get it? What form is it in?
It’s nutritious and delicious.
damn sounds good. i love that

Yeah I have read the exact same thing x
Agree ive heard this before and that there really isnt much evidence that Ceylon Cinnamon lower blood sugar only Cassia cinnamon but may be advised to take low doses or take a few weeks on and off to prevent any liver Toxicity
@jormungand72 That would be for diabetes 1.
I put cinnamon in my daily cup of coffee. It's delicious! Mind you, it doesn't dissolve, so have to swirl the last mouthful of coffee to mix the cinnamon in (that has sunk to the bottom of the cup) and then quickly tip the cup to drink the last mouthful.
Does cinnamon tea break a fast?
