Hi Skip. First of all I love your channel, it's been really helpful. I have a question. I'm a third year film student and I'm planning on moving to the U.S in the near future. I've done my research and narrowed my options to Albuquerque and Dallas. I've read articles about the film industry in Albuquerque, but they mainly mention Netflix and Breaking Bad. My question to you is if you could talk about the film industry in Albuquerque, but in detail. Should film students move to Albuquerque as an affordable alternative to bigger cities? Should aspiring directors move there? Can producers start a production company? What about laws regarding filming in city spaces? tax incentives? are there any film festivals? basically, can we make actual business making movies while living in Albuquerque? this sort of questions haven't been answered by those articles, at least that's what I think. It would be cool to hear what you have to say regarding this topic since you really know your city. Honestly, I'm leaning more towards Albuquerque, but these questions are keeping me from making my final decision. I'd appreciate if you could help me. Thank you so much for your time. See ya!

Hi Bastian! Thanks for the love. Albuquerque seems to be a popular destination recently for the film industry. There are tax incentives and plenty of opportunities for all aspects from film to post production. Check out www.cabq.gov/film

Hi Skip! Thanks for the vids. Quick question for you, does NM also have mello-roos taxes for new construction builds? That’s huge right now in CA and it’s such a turn off when considering a newly built home because seems like it’s just another itemized expense on top of the usual property taxes.

    • @AllAboutABQ
