Your book turned out great! I'm going to give it a try but instead of just a random book was thinking of using a photo album or maybe a scrap book. I have 3 grandchildren (4,4,6 yrs) and I was thinking that my daughter's could use it to keep a record of them in their Halloween costumes and any Fall/Halloween activities
Just as it sounds. Used tea bags not soaking wet, Pat around the edges of the pages and let dry. Or you can just use paint until you are happy with the results. But paint won't look as authentic.
You can use brown paper bags for covering the book, tear it up and soak in the glue, squeeze it out and stick to the book, free from your local grocer and it's already brown.
I was thinking this book was going to be just “ok” but you really blew me away with how close it resembles the real one! I love your idea of using the already made snakes!
This is so great! It looks very similar to the one from the movie. Thank you for breaking all the steps down so well, and for not hiding/editing out when things didn't work out as you had planned. That makes this seem much easier, and less intimidating to try. Thank you so much for recording, and sharing this awesome project!
Hands down the best tutorial! I went out yesterday and found all of these supplies and just finished making my own! It's Awesome and looks just like this. My 3 year old twins even helped and had so much fun.😁. Thank You!
Liked your tutorial and the book looks great ... one point you might think about..... as a viewer it would be better for us if you camera was shooting over your shoulder.... it helps when you can see the technique you use for brushing, gluing, painting etc. instead of holding up the finished product. Otherwise, great job and tutorial.... have subscribed and look forward to more sessions on your site. Thanks again.
Oh my gosh, this is AMAZING!!! Hocus Pocus is my absolute favorite! I just did an acrylic painting of the Sanderson sisters last Fall and it's still hanging up. ❤️
This turned out really well!!! I would love to use an actual journal. This would be so fun to use during fall and winter with a warm cup of coffee ☕️ Just random writing or important list. Either way, this was a great tutorial!!!✨🌟✨
It looks amazing! I'm going to be Winifred Sanderson for Halloween so I wanted to make the book as a prop. I just got all the materials and I can't wait to get started!
I have everything at home except a hard back book to use and some plastic snakes....so making a similar book this week or weekend! Thanks for such an easy to follow tutorial!
Devin Munro That is a really great idea! My daughters (and myself, lol) are Fan-atic's for Harry Potter mind if I steal your idea, lol? But since both my daughters are writer's instead of a random book I'm thinking of getting them both a Journal .Hope it works! Will you be posting a picture of your's here?
I was so excited to come across your video! I wanna make one for myself and surprise my sister and daughter with one, since Hocus Pocus is on of their favorite movies. They are gonna love it, as am I. Thank you so much for sharing !!
Looks amazing... even more so knowing you did it for $10. Thank you for sharing. I wish I could’ve seen more of the work while you were doing it. I know it looks simple, but I have learned my lesson that some people have a natural hack for dabbing paint/shading/etc... tiny things that seem simple, but then after trying it myself, it turns out wonky. 😂
Mad skills!! I'm going to give it a try! I love every part of Halloween. Mine might not be as professional as yours, but it'll be made with Halloween love. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃👍👍👍👍
I rarely comment but you deserve it. I am fascinated with the Necronomicon the book from Evil Dead so I will be doing that and you have inspired me. Your book is beautiful and I appreciate your talent and thorough description. I also appreciate the fact that you enjoy the dark beauty during this time of year. Happy Halloween Be well!!!
Hi new to your channel.. I went looking for other crafts after this amazing ... 😍.... Girlfriend I know you like couponing, but I feel like you missing your calling .. this is amazing.. thank you for inspiring me ... Can't wait to make my book thank you...
You knocked that diy out of the park!! Fabulous job!! I love this!! I I'm not big on Halloween but my daughter is and she would love this!! I do enjoy crafting Halloween stuff for her. New sub!🎃🧡🎃🧡
This is wicked. Loving it! Could you please tell me what hat is the music that you play in this video? Thank you kindly for sharing this video with us. 🕸🕷🕸
All of these FX artists on here and prop makers doing silicon molds and latex and complicated stuff and this lady is like... "here's a glue gun". brilliant!
Uh...could you possibly let me know what the spooky music in the video is called and who made it??? I am currently making my own spell book based on your tutorial and I couldn't be happier with it. And to think that I even considered spending $50-$80 on one being sold on Etsy!!!
This is SO COOL!! I love Hocus Pocus, too, so I was thrilled when a cable TV channel played it daily in October last year and then all day on Halloween! I'm going to look for the supplies at Dollar Tree and Walmart today to make my own BOO-OOK!! One thing, though...the music during the fast-motion segments is a little loud and annoying. I kept having to adjust the volume up and down between the music and spoken sections.

Mama Kitty Great idea!
you could always just glue the photos in it would make it look way more interesting
The thought of using a photo album just crossed my mind too, before I read your comment! Amazing how creative minds think alike😁.
Love this idea!
This is an incredible idea! Thank you for sharing.
This is such a fun, budget-friendly, and creative way to make the iconic Book! Good job!❤
You could tea stain the edge of the pages as well to make it look even older :)
How do you do that if you don't mind me asking
Just as it sounds. Used tea bags not soaking wet, Pat around the edges of the pages and let dry. Or you can just use paint until you are happy with the results. But paint won't look as authentic.
I was thinking the same thing as she was doing the video, or find an old book at goodwill or something.
Absolutely right. I will do this project. thanks for the tip. The tea stain is easy and gives this natural old looking book.
I wonder if the tea bag would give the tea stained pages a nice scent besides the old authentic look🤔
You can use brown paper bags for covering the book, tear it up and soak in the glue, squeeze it out and stick to the book, free from your local grocer and it's already brown.
Shawn Sisler ...great idea! I used plain brown wrapping paper. Looks like real leather “skin.”
I was thinking this book was going to be just “ok” but you really blew me away with how close it resembles the real one! I love your idea of using the already made snakes!

I did the same. I used jute string/twine for the "stitches". Just cut them in small pieces
Perfect for my porch diy hocus pocus.

Your hocus porch’s book turned out adorable 🥰!!!

Mod Podge, &separate the paper towel into a single layer.

All of these FX artists on here and prop makers doing silicon molds and latex and complicated stuff and this lady is like... "here's a glue gun". brilliant!
You can also make the snakes with hot glue gunbif u cant find the snakes (i didn't find any).
They usually have these at walmart in the party section also
Selene Hernandez ....I did that and it looks great. Hint: if they’re too lumpy around the edges, you can trim them down to have a sleeker shape. 😀👍🏽
Very nice I love it.
