they did such a good job hiring a writer for the dialogs and a good composer, first time in a 40k game and i am very intrigued in the universe of everything else

I really love how all the Magi in the game are so fleshed out (minus the gratuitous ironmongery) and how their personalities mesh and clash
Here's a few notes of lore. Crypteks are not humans. They are Necron engineers/scientist, the brightest minds of their race. They wield technology so advanced, it's sometimes indistinguishable from magic (and that's saying something in the universe where magic actually exists). I like to think that this song is about mechanicus, being scientists first themselves, encountering such a rival. Not just a simple enemy, but a peer.

Hell, I'd say crypteks are above most tech-priests, despite being comparatively side-line figures in necron society
Personally I would say the strange sub melody is the implied dominance of the Cryptek. You get the Mechanicus chants and organs, especially at the start, then the Cryptek sequences burst in, as the Necron is or deems himself superior. That sense of superiority is captivated in the discord it causes in the melody, and sometimes overpowering the Mechanicus melody, and then really storming in towards the end, full power and completely silencing the Mechanicus sequence. Then the track end is basically mad ranting of the cryptek, maybe of vengence, superiority or just boasting that he will be back unlike them, and cuts to silence.
I think you wanted to say "rival" cuz there are very few who'd dare to befriend a cryptek. For many reasons.

Cryteks are one of the higher rank enemies of the Necrons so maybe the off feelings come from them, metalic undeads of the vast galaxy

No, they are the Scientists/Engineers/Scholars/Medic/Mystics of Necrontyr Society.
Think of them like a cross between Court Wizard and a Royal Advisor. But instead of using magic they use technology so advanced it seems like magic to mortals.
My theory on why the composer went with the feeling of randomness is that Crypteks have their original soul from before bio transference and after the billon year hibernation that they had they developed, for a lack of better term, space dementia which would cause the Crypteks to go through periods of clarity and periods of confusion. For example, Nemesor Zahndrekh who’s been described as having these same symptoms. And who’s author based him on a close family member with dementia
This is true, however I think you mean Necrons. Crypteks are a specific class of Necrons. Not all Necrons have space dementia as well.

Well given what we know thanks to the Twice Dead King series and the Nemisor Zahndrekh novella Severed, both by Nate Crowley. In addition arguably the best 40K novel the Infinite and the Divine by Robert Rath, featuring Trayzn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner. Necron Dementia is the result of one of these three main things
1) They have simply gone insane due to a lack of soul and being a sentient robot
2) Irreparable damage thanks to either age or being resurrected one too many times
3) The Necron falling to Flayer Virus (more specifically the Dyspherac).
So yeah your theory is sound except for the soul but. It have been made explicitly clear that Necrons have no souls whatever. And are literally Ghosts in a Machine.

There isn't a single necron that has their soul. That's their whole deal. Crpyteks don't have souls.
When you cannot communicate with language to another alien race, music is often what we turn to to attempt a breakthrough. This feels less like a fight and more like an exchange, but we're hearing this waltz between alien robots wielding mystifying technology and mechanically-inbred humans who treasure technology as mystic in itself.
It's said a few times by the characters in Mechanicus that while they despise the Necrons for being despicable xenos and a blight in the eyes of the Omnissiah, they are also infinitely fascinated by what they can learn and adapt. For the glory of mankind, of course. It creates this constant struggle of wants versus needs and a sense of piousness as they know to reject consumption of this forbidden fruit, but the vast potential they can imagine is tantalizing. If they adapt Necron technology to their own, they are reminded the challenge posed by the Inquisition: "How far can they transform themselves before they are no longer considered human?"

Here's a fascinating bit of lore that I feel heavily explains the unusual dynamic the Mechanicus has with the Necrons- a borderline heretical but still often held belief among some radical tech-priests is that the Necrons were actually the first chosen race of the Omnissiah, but they turned their backs on the Omnissiah right as they were on the cusp of achieving what the Mechanicus has been striving for all this time- true oneness of metallic flesh, but for the Necrons it was done at the cost of sacrificing the sacred nature of the Machine Spirit.
It really does have echoes of the Islamic story of jinn, where humanity was actually the second draft of creation, and the jinn were the first almost-perfect race but suffering from one deep, fatal flaw.

I thought like 40% of the sounds i heard here was background noise when i played the game.
I think that is part of the intention behind the soundtrack, actually. To convey the environment itself, the ancient and hostile Necron temples you're daring to invade.
I love how many random machinery sounds the OST of the game contains, it fits the theme so well.

Crypteks are the techno mages of the Necrons. Meaning that, even to the highly technologically advanced race of Necrons, the tech Cryptek use is beyond their comprehension. Skilled Crypteks can, with seemingly little more than the wave of hand, brake the laws of physics, predict centuries into the future and bend time to their will.
Shout out to Orikan the Diviner, who looped back in time multiple times just to win an argument.

Yes, the Cryptek are actually necrons, as it was mentioned in the comments already. This ost is so haunting. I got assosiations with voodoo dances, at the point when they are not some meme thing but an actual creepy, brutal ancient ritual.
The necrons are incredible, even among 40k factions. Their race was born as the necrontyr on a hellword, ravanged by radiation, cursed with short agony filled lives. But they slowly progressed, until eventully the c'tan, the star gods, walked among the necrontyr in bodies they had built for them. The necrontyr looked upon a race of immortals known as the Old Ones, who were masters of the warp. The Old Ones refused to bestow immortaity upon the necrontyr, and so they sough to steal the secret and war broke out. It did not go well. So in desperation, they (unknowingly) sold their souls to the c'tan, and became the necrons. No longer fragile beings of flesh and bone, but immortals of living steel. Living weapons. After the war in heaven was done, and the old ones extinct, the necrons turned on their c'tan masters. Shattering them into shards and shackling them to the will of the necrons.
They are masters of technology, possessing the most advanced tech in the 40k galaxy. Well beyond dark age humanity and even the eldar. Crypteks are necron scientists and engineers, wielding the most advanced tech they have to offer, indistinguishable from magic. Often fighting alongside their canoptek robots.
And Marco will never know that he is actuallyin a simulation and is actually in stasis in Trazyn the Infinite's galleries. Because the moment he said "like nothing before or likely after" the meme lord of the Necrons came running.
crypteks are necron magicians, astromancers, and court seers. They're generally very secretive and powerful
Technically they're Necron scientists, but yeah they're basically just wizards.
@@TheLangenator At necron tech levels, there is not much of a different other than that if you asked and they were willing, they could explain exactly how it worked to you. You'd need five hundred years of education to understand it, but they could explain it.
The worst part is the Necrons the souless metal skeletons feel more human then the Mechanicus do. Which really shows you how far from humanity the Mechanicus have strayed.
And then the game made the Necrons speak English, while the Mechanicus speak like machines, needing subtitles to even understand them. That for me really sold how far past human the Mechanicus are.
I read somewhere ; Mechanicus are Humans, trying to get rid of their biological self to embrace the "perfection" of the machines, Necrons are those advanced immortal machine in search of a "Soul".

I love the metronome like beeping that stays consistent in the background even when the melody is fading out to emphasize other parts of the song. It has such a mechanical feeling to it like a never ending march that even when other stuff is given the focus it’s alway in the back of your mind
Within the context of the necrons its basically like an alarm clock for the apocalypse it’s a hard feeling to describe articulately
And the term Cryptek actually refers to a high level necron whom is well versed enough in technology that Functionally in their own society they’re scientists but to everyone else they are nothing less than techno wizard terminators
They’re capable of some very scary stuff like reprogramming matter or controlling the living metal of their subjects like a water bender from avatar . Certain classes of them are even capable of turning back time
alarm clock is apt since that is a literal gameplay mechanic (the awakening meter).
It is really nice to see someone who doesn't have prior knowledge of the lore behind these pieces pick up on the themes and nuances, just from the music. Really opens the eyes and adds to the appreciation of the creator behind one of my favorite game OSTs.

Watching a few of these videos it actually blew my mind how much about the world and themes can be conveyed through music alone
cryptek is obviously refering to the necrons and with that in mind i think you can really hear the two different tech types batteling. on one side the mechanicus with the steel and cogs and on the other side the otherworldly sound of the necron tech

I loved the idea of more of an improvising fighter. Though the Crypteks are Necrons, kind of like tech sorcerers, and they work for the various Necron Dynasties, some of them are free agents only aiding and counseling various necron lords.
What i loved most about this piece is the difference when compared to the actual Tech priest dedicated music, which seems to crave order and leans heavily into the religious aspect, much like the Mechanicus themselves. They wish to be rid of the flesh and aspire to the perfection of the machine, with religious zealotry, and tend to hate any flesh they still have.
While this song (a decidedly necron song) is much more mechanical as a base, with the religious organ only in some bits and the chorus sounding like the disembodied memory of a spirit trying it's best to be heard. The Necrons are in a way the opposite of the mechanicus. They want their organic bodies back, and they want their souls back, even in the game they show disdain to the techpriest's ambition of leaving behind their flesh, and the Necrons have also renounced and killed their gods (kinda), after the gods tricked and betrayed them into becoming machines
They killed one, it didn't go well for anybody involved.

Most of these songs have the juxtaposition between the electronic sounds and the organ, representing the clash between the necrons and the mechanicus respectively. It's a really neat detail!
I'd honestly say the Mechanicus OST/Soundtrack is one of my all time favorite Gaming Soundtracks. Like you said for Dance of the Cryptek, there's nothing out there like it and I feel that way about the whole soundtrack. It gets my imagination going or just lets me space out.
Tl.dr.: Spooky scary egyptian space skeletons wake up to get people of their lawn.
"Dilapidated gracefulness" is an excellent way to describe the Necrons. They are a dead civilization that refuses to stay dead, the statue of Ozymandias come back to life to reinstate his long buried kingdom. They see themselves as the rightful heirs to the galaxy, and intelligent beings are at best subjects to be cowed, and at worst an infection to be scrubbed clean.
Crypteks are Necron units. The name is so fitting, this track does an incredible job of musically portraying their ancient-beyond-belief and intense, exotic, neigh-mystical atmosphere.
I love that various sections from Noosphere can be heard in the background as if the noise of the admech and indeed their entire beings are being subsumed by the necrons.

Crypteks are Advisors and Researchers for Lords and Overlords and for Silent King that are the rulers of race called The Necrons (Eqyptian themed Terminator robots)
Ruler of Necron race is called The Silent King. Then there are Overlords that keep watch over spesific Dynasties. And they have advisors that are Lords and Crypteks. Under them are multitude of units like Scarabs, Immortals, Warriors, Destroyers etc.
Warhammer Lore time. trying to keep it TL;DR for people
Necrontyr was one of the earliest races in our galaxy, but they had sun that was killing them activly hence their culture was centered around death. They are modeled after Eqyptian style with Pharaos and advisors. They learned about race called The Old Ones which could heal almost anything. as they asked "hey can you cure our cancer etc that our sun ""blesses"" us with." old ones said "No lol" and there was BIG War called War on Heaven, where Necrontyr were deceived by race called C'tans. They promised immortality and cure from the deseises and after Necrontyr took the deal they were converted into bodies of Living Metal and were dubbed Necrons and became slaves for the C'tans.
After the war, they rebelled against the C'tans and shattered them in multiple shards and caged them like pokemons in pokeballs. They went to sleep.
Fast forward 65 millions years to the year 40.000 in Warhammer universe. They are waking up in different parts of the galaxy one by one in so called Tomb Worlds. Saw Other races and went "Get the Hell out of OUR galaxy!" and want to murder everyone that is not Necron.

I love how sometimes the organs feel off and kinda glitched out, like how the necrons in the game reproduce a twisted version of the mechanicus' prayers as a mockery
Honestly something I love about this track is that some of the underlying beat has a very tribal drumming feel to it. Like this is an ancient, but powerful, culture that is preparing for war and bringing up their energy before battle. A wonderful bit of techno-barbarism in this track by fusing the feel of something so ancient with all the mechanized sounds and other feelings the music evokes.
It's unbelievable how it unites with the waltz rhythm

Necron nerd here! I casually play 40k, and absolutely adore this track, for many of the same reasons you've stated. This song is actually the reason I play 40K at all, and was a key reason for giving the game a shot. I'll try to voice some of my thoughts about this song:
Unlike some of the other pieces in the soundtrack, this one definitely feels like a theme song for the Necrons, who are the main antagonists to the Mechanicus in the game. The crypteks of the title are the Necron's techno-sorcerers whose mystical chants raise the mechanical undead, and the music definitely scores that point. Inhuman symphony is a great way to describe it. The main baseline has got this muted chant that sounds like polyphonic singing, coupled with staccato whirs and... plasma arcs? Not sure if that's the right instrument, but it gives off this mix of mystic rhythms and mechanical tones. The "instruments" are very well chosen to not be or feel human. It's very telling when the most human sound is the sound of marching feet (Definitely the sleepless necron warriors). Even the chants are very difficult to sing. The song underscores the vibe that to join in to this ritual, you'd have to be part machine...
The organ is definitely a musical piece of the Mechanicus that shows up on the other pieces, but worth noting here is that it's not the main instrument. It shows up on the bridge, as a brief (and almost defiant) tune that rises above the normal hymns for a moment. It reminds you that this is the domain of the cryptek, where the Mechanicus' already questionable humanity is put at odds with something truly inhuman.
Guillaume David did amazing job with soundtracks from Mechanicus and Ixion.
You 100% need to interview the creator of this music.

Man I really love OST of Mechanicus, and they're the primary reason I got into Warhammer, as their lore is very interesting, as well as the whole Warhammer

I'm late to the party, but I think almost every piece from this soundtrack shows us evershifting nature of the Necron dungeons we explore during the game. Every time you lose the dungeons realign themselves. These crypts your mechanicus explorers go to change constantly. They shift and twists, and every turn will lead you somewhere new and dangerous. It's not exactly part of the lore, it's a part of the gameplay, but I believe it is everpresent in the OST.
The music track to a robot shaped like a man and a man wanting to be a robot fighting over a toaster...
Such an oddly elegant sway to it. Like a dark ritual where beings are just in the zone swaying their heads and bodies in conjunction to their machines activating. I would imagine a lot of incense is burning in the room this track takes place in lol.
There's a cover of one of their songs by Stringstorm that has better audio quality atleast.
It kinda reminds me of Paul Leonard-Morgans work on both Cyberpunk 2077 and Dredd (2012), it sounds like they are playing something but slowing it down to something like a tenth which is giving us the weird 'wobbles' in the sound, and on top of that they add a bit of choir singing which (appropriately for WH40k) gives this vibe of the future/machine being infused with religion.
I run a Shadowrun campaign and I used this track in one of my best set-pieces to date.
My hacker player dove into the digital world with a team of other hackers who he'd done a few jobs with in the past to swipe what amounted to a NOC list from a cult that worshiped "ancient" tech (things like manual locks, keys, even a Nokia rip-off), and he unintentionally activated the system's security program as they were on the way out. Since the place was made to look like a crypt with dust and sarcophagi lining the walls. I looped the opening of this song as he traveled through the crypt, but the minute things went bad, the chains started and the digital abomination howled that digital scream. The chase was brief, but intense. The only reason the player survived was that he tricked the leader of the team into giving him the list before sealing the guy off from the escape route. Bad luck, Chummer.
A few weeks of in-game time pass, and he gets a message on his commlink. Through the static of the signal, a familiar mask appears, and before the image blinks away, an unrecognizable scream blares in his earpiece. The Crypt-Tech, as I called it in reference, was delayed, but not yet thwarted.
Another masterpiece ost from mechanicus is "Overlord" !!!

You should totally check out the "Bella Ciao" and "Katyusha" full versions from Hearts of Iron IV. These two are perfect orchestral masterpieces that sound absolutely amazing. I'm sure you would love them!

I absolutely love the soundscape from this ost. It's almost like it was written for an IMAX or something.
I was thinking today that you would probably love the soundtrack from Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, especially being an opera singer. That soundtrack is just so beautiful, it's almost impossible to even recommend just one song from it to listen to. Aurora is excellent from that OST, or The Light We Cast.
Keep making these your reaction videos are hands down the best on YT. Pausing to speak at the right moments, letting tracks play when they deserve to be heard, great observations informed by real knowledge of music theory, the lot.

on the topic of 40k - there's this REALLY old 40k album made by an obscure russian band called "Galaxy Aflame." The audio quality is garbage, and so are most of the songs, but there's one called "Ave Dominus Nox" that's become legendary in night lord player community. Something about the bad audio quality, the singer's accents matching the audiobook accents of night lords, and the overall tone of the song make it something really special if you know the story behind it. It's only got 12k views on youtube but I think it's worth a listen even if you don't do a reaction on it :). You can really tell the people who made it are super passionate about 40k and emotion shows through if you can overlook the quality.

Hi, 40k lore nerd of nearly five years here, I'm absolutely baffled and blown away by the fact you're able to nearly hit the lore nail on the head just by listening to the OST, keep up the awsome work, looking forward to binging your videos.

I've been a huge Warhammer fan my whole life and my favourite army has always been the Mechanicus so this soundtrack was like a divine gift. It perfectly captures the feeling i've always had about Warhammer and the Mechanicus but it also makes me sad that there is nothing else like it and probably never will be again in my lifetime.
All the battle songs have a mix of Omminsiah priest and Necron forces.
Omnisiah has vocals, organs traditional church sound with synth.
Necrons have Egyptian instruments like a neir flute, digital computer sounds similar to 56k modem, and also synth.
This is a war between man embracing machine as religion and undead mummylike machines decimating everything they encounters.
the storytelling is very strong in this one. Cryptecs are a group of necrons, they are scientists that have basically transcended reality and posses technology that is described as "basically magic" by all other races. Meanwhile mechanicus are a cult of machines. They desire to unite with technology and to posses the most advanced knowlage possible. In a sens, being a cryptek is their greatest desire and their ultimate goal, yet the backword ideals of their religion stop them from persuing it and hold them back. This music tepresents a clash betwen ideals inside mechanicus, the self contradicting goal of transcending flesh and uniting with machine represented by synthetic sounds clashin and fighting to dominate the flaw against traditional horus and organs symbolizing their religious fanatism and dogmatism holding them back. They are made to hate what they desire, and Dance of the cryptec depicts that, just as much as it depicts a battle between cryptecs and mechanicus on a literal level
one can clearly imagine endless columns of necrons shuffle slowly to and fro in this rythm, whilst a cryptek directs them.
I definitely hear the struggle between the AdMech and the Necrons here, but also the strange attraction between them. The weird EDM techno sounds are the super hi-tech robot people and the church organ is the backwards cyborg religious zealots, and the dance between their themes shows how the two factions are weirdly connected through 60 million years and the length and breadth of the galaxy. Not sure how much you know about the lore of 40k, but it's an open question whether the Omnissiah is actually a C'Tan i.e. one of the Necrons' gods whom they killed before their great hibernation.
The Crypteks are the Necrons tasked with the revival of their most ancient and complex technologies. They are as close to autonomous as a machine can be, and have their own individual quirks. They're scholars, and they study technology of their predecessor race so advanced that even they don't entirely understand it.
So, I think it makes sense that their music is so bizarre.
I love the name of the song in particular. The thing is that the cryptek operate machinery that is so far ahead of our own, that to the human eye their actions seem to be nothing but a dance, that carries no purpose.
What I love about this the most is the look of pure joy on his face at points and that fact you can see he just wants to grab an instrument (I think a violin?) And just bite into the music, to be part of it!
A battle between two warriors is often reffered to as a "dance" as well. A dance of death and skill to be precise. The cryptek is propably fighting an adeptus mechanicus, with the adeptus mechanicus loosing in the end. The cryptek are a part of the necron forces, whereas the adeptus mechanicus are part of the imperial forces. Those are at war whenever they encounter each other. Thus the title "Dance of the Cryptek". Honoring the victor and his skill.
Crypteks are part of the Necrons, the most technologically advanced race in 40k, who turned themselves into immortal robots millions of years ago. Crypteks are the scientists and geniuses of this race, they wield a technology that puts almost anything else in the 40k universe to absolute shame. Science so advanced that it's basically magic to everyone else (matter/time/energy ridiculousness), but is still extremely mechanical-looking and super finely controled.
That's what i hear in this: extremely precise but cryptic movements and thoughts, so advanced and above our own that it sounds like gibberish / random sounds, but it's actually profundly methodical and intentional, an artful science of metallic necromancy, of unimaginable complexity.
The regular, thumping beat. Like the countless Necron serfs, stripped of their free will and forced to march in perfect lockstep for all eternity.
The droning that seems to be a call from the void, or from the depths of eternity.
The improvisational quality of a half-mad scientist-priest, whose mastery of primordial forces is so great they can play reality itself like a musician plucks a harp.
Tones that are not merely haunting, but feel _haunted._ Like the Cryptek has summoned things from the beyond - beyond the stars, beyond death, beyond time - and _inflicted_ them upon you.
Every so often, the church organ breaks through. The foes of the Cryptek, the Mechanicus, asserting themselves in a triumphant display of power. And oh, how the Cryptek rankles at this affront. This...presumption by children mimicking science they're 65 million years too young to understand.
The really cool part to me is you can hear sort of this foreign, alien feeling in this but still hear some of the distant echoes of Children of the Omnissiah in the back. Really cool piece and love hearing your thoughts as always, man. Love these. Would love to see you react to more games.
Question: Have you ever sat down and listened to Two Steps from Hell? At work I get a lot of questions as too what movie/game soundtrack I'm playing over my speaker; and since that is a lot of what you cover (from what I see), thought you might be interested in them.
PWND, Myth, and Azdaja from the Album Myth (no misses in my book for the entire album) as well as Impossible and Unleashed from the album Unleashed have been favorites from recent finds.

Isn’t a cryptek an undead robot god killer necron king or something I just know it’s an enemy of the emperor of man and must be purged by order of the imperium of man.
Cryptek is a high ranking Necron but the leader of Necrons is The Silent King. Crypteks are much akin to advisors in Necron Dynasties for Lords and Overlords.
In-game they serve as spell-caster heroes (technically not warp magic though just really advanced technology)

When I listen to this track, I get an impression of loneliness, dementia and madness in certain sections.
It is an awesome song along with a lot of other owesome song from the mechanicus game. I personally love to have it in the background when I play a survival game with a nice decor and I just explore.

I saw that you previously covered Cao Cao's theme from Total War Three Kingdoms. I would recommend also looking at some of the earlier OSTs from the series, especially the Medieval 2 and Rome 1 works by Jeff Van Dyke. "War of Kings" from Medieval 2 is particularly good, and "Duke of Death" (Medieval 2) and "Melee Cafe" (Rome 1) also come to mind.

Late to the party, but I am enjoying watching your reaction to these pieces because it tells me the composers of this soundtrack did an amazing job because you, a person who (at least at the time of making this video) knew nothing about 40K and yet you are able to pinpoint quite accurately elements of the social worldbuilding that has gone into creating the 40K 'verse. Brava!

I just realised something... does anyone else get Dr. Who vibes from the "OOOOWWWWEEEEAAAOOOOO's" that surface throughout the Mechanicus soundtrack? Took me 3 years to place the feeling they gave me
Crypteks are the Necrons' idea of sorcerers; they just discover, study, and employ lost or ancient tech that's so advanced it appears to be magic.
Crypteks are necrons who love to pomder their resurection orbs a tad bit too much
I love how this song offers a strong contrast between the alien synths that almost sound like artificial chatter and the equally alien vocalisations and metallic percussion of the Mechanicus. I can close my eyes and imagine the Mechanicus cracking open the vaults of the Necron Tombs and being overwhelmed by the cavernous interiors. This soundtrack is so atmospheric.

As others already mentioned, the Crypteks are actually part of the Necrons who are an ancient race who created their gods called the C'tan by placing some very powerful sentient energy into metallic bodies in hopes that these new gods would grant them immortality, but instead the C'tan ate the souls of the Necrons and literally turned them machines, and in turn the Necrons killed the C'tan as revenge...
These are no longer people, these are ancient xenos made of living metal, without a soul, who seek to destroy all life.

the necrons traded their souls for immortality, sacrificed it to the stargods to spite a race that didnt save them from their cancerous decay
the are a race that faced inevitable death, both as a person and then a species and took any chance, any sacrifice to survive
and then faced eternity of non existence, life without a soul
they became machine, and now face eternity with that regret knowing what they lost
crypteks are the ones tasked with finding a way to fix their mistake, find a cure, find a way to give a robot a soul, find a way to give a non existent soul flesh to continue life in
the fight in the song isnt a battle
its the fight against giving up on repeatedly trying and failing to do the impossible yet having no other choice then to continue

thats why its so calm, the beat never changed, it keeps repeating and repeating because they have tried everything and they know nothing will work but what else can they do
and then the organ and the piano, a spark of hope only for it to then crash

I didn't knew much about 40K besides big dudes in armror killing space orcs, and one day I stumble upon this soundtrack, never played the game, but man that ost, since I've digged more in the lore, which is amazing, read some books and played some games, and I often go back to this soundtrack, it's really special. I hope to see one day a big RPG in this universe, with this composer !
By the way since I'm here, did you heard of Outward ? I think the ost is pretty unique and interesting, I would love to have your opinion on it, tracks like "Monsoon" and "Hallowed Marsh" in particular ;)
Check out the Mechanicus soundtracks if you have the time, another 40k faction that has their church chants "pristine" almost sounds like orthodox monks
I love this song. It's so alien and creepy, which is exactly what Necron's are. Ancient horror, mechanical terminators, nigh immortal.
