Best thing about this game is when you're in a big melee battle swinging a hammer and the music syncs up. Just cant help but bang your head with the beat.
@@GuerillaBunnyHonestly I don't think either would be as good without the other, as game soundtracks should be imo. It reminds me a lot of Halo, Destiny, and Soulsborne games. A proper fully developed soundtrack that you'd expect from a blockbuster movie, but it adapts to the game as you're playing, shortening or lengthening parts when needed but always sounding perfectly in tune with what's happening in-game. Darktide's composer made and awesome job for this game, he had made many amazing gaming soundtracks: Hitman, Borderlands, Darksiders II (Guardian Boss Music is just awesome), Assasin's Creed (Ezio's family is pure catharsis, one of the best gaming music in history, this soundtrack is basically the soundtrack of the golden era of gaming). He has been working with Fatsharks for 2 previous games of Vermintide I-II (it's a Warhammer FB analogue of Darktide) and it has some amazing scores too. And don't forget that Jeremy Soule has so many masterpieces in his portfolio too (even some 40k games): Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, The Elder Scrolls III-V (yes, the famous Dragonborn theme is his), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I-II, my all time favorite massive RTS Supreme Commander (with expansion), War Thunder and even some Dota2 scores, etc. He KNOW his 40k stuff since the time of Dow-1. Such a music gifts for fans
This game is amazing. It had a rough launch and that is where most of the main issues come from. Most of the problems have been ironed out though. The biggest problem right now is the crafting and itemization. It is essentially a slot machine. My advice for new players is too avoid crafting as much as possible and just save up plasteel until the crafting update (it will be the next title update). The end game difficulty (auric maestrom) is super satisfying when you have a proper team, you all function like a well oiled machine. No other game hits like Darktide does. The core gameplay is seriously top notch. It should also be noted that Fatshark is TERRIBLE at communicating with their community, so dont get too invested into the "gamer politics" around this game. Just have fun with it and dont let some of the toxic community members who, for some reason, play this game nonstop yet constantly talk crap about it, bring you down if you are having a good time with it.
It's a really good game. I think people who say it's pretty repetitive have just played it an awful lot. I don't think these kinda games can be your 'forever' game but there is enough here to keep someone playing for a fair amount of time. Obviously the only choice is to play the Veteran Guardsman tho. Shoulder you lasgun and Combat knife and learn what it's like to be a grunt in 40k (or if you want to win, use a plasma gun (but careful with the overcharge)) 😂
I’m so glad Jesper Kyd didn’t go full gothic organ choir thing and mixed up some techno and electronic. It turned out really slapping and still fitting to the universe.
Aloha, great to watch you! This is real goth music (party all night) listen to this all night long. I'd be really happy if you checked out "The Last Church". The story is just awesome and reveals soooo much about the Emperor.
I genuinely think you should react to the Vermintide 2 release trailer. Not only because it was Fatsharks previous game to Darktide but because its Warhammer (albeit Fantasy not 40k) and finally because as far as I can tell, nobody has reacted to it.
You should listen to the Ogryn story about Gav and Bob by Vox in the Void... it's a heart melter! Vox has some top tier audio stories for 40k generally.
Damn i love that intro track! Game's one my fave's too👍 I'd say "veteran" or "zelot" are prob best classes to start with, vet for range, zelot if you prefer melee😉
The game is so much fun to play. Hope you'll enjoy your time as much as I do! 🎮 Installed it last weekend and literally have binge-played it since then to level 30 with the veteran class. Can't wait to try the other classes. It's literally radiating imperial army vibes 😅 it has been a while a co-op game got me hooked that much, even though I'm not 100% in all the game systems and mechanics yet. Happy gaming and best regards.
Jesper Kyd is the king of game soundtracks in my opinion. If you like Darktide's OST, check out Darksiders II's soundtracks as well! He has a specific style that's rather rich in drums and a few other instruments. You may hear and identify parts from both games' soundtracks that sound very alike. Stains of Heresy, The Abyssal Plains and Death Brings Hope are a few of Darksiders II soundtracks to name. If you listen to them, I hope you'll enjoy those!
The zealot is the most newby friendly class because they are kind of a jack of all trades character more than the other three classes and they have very forgiving survival mechanics. Darktide: Amazing melee and ranged combat, very tight controls with a high skill ceiling, it's Left 4 Dead in 40k in a nutshell. The music absolutely slaps and gets you in the headspace to mow down heretics and foul mutants. Have 1000hrs in this game but haven't touched it in months primarily due to the way you gain equipment and weapon ability unlocks - it's entirely random lottery mechanics that consume limited resources you gather in missions. You craft power sword after power sword and hope you get one with good stats that then also unlocks at least 1 good ability but it's random and it absolutely sucks all of the long-term enjoyment from the game. It could also use more maps and content to maintain relevancy but FatShark is really good at releasing unfinished products that take years to finally dial in.

If you end up playing this, I'd urge you to consider a couple of things: 1) You can't rely on your firearms alone, even if you're "maining" ranged combat. If anything makes it to close range, change to melee. 2) You cannot outgear the challenge. Most gear is going to be garbage. Your greatest assets are your skill, wits and discipline. 3) Staying close to your group grants bonuses. Straying will not only remove them, but the game prioritizes eliminating loners. 3b) Don't leave anyone behind. Especially important when jumping down from points of no return. 4) The game communicates almost everything through sounds. Even incoming attacks from enemies you can't see. 5) The game will teach you bad habits, and then exploit them. 6) Never forget that the enemy can also spawn behind you. Head on a swivel! Achtually... The female zealot is not a Sister of Battle... Perhaps she was but got expelled as a punishment for something or perhaps she never was.. The ecclesiarchy is forbidden from hawing "men under arms" -- but women are OK.. I suppose they have the right to arm bears too. Ogryns are ABhumans .. it means - something other than that they have fabulous abs. AFAIK most ogryns are not cannibals or even particularly gluttonous - but ratlings (also abhumans) eat a lot for their size and have a nasty tendency to pilfer supplies (they're basically hobbits in space) .
i want to love this game so bad, but i can't play solo and enjoy it at my own pace and forced to play with others so until fatshark add bot mode. i shelf the game. shame really.. just really shame..
Darktide isn't it. ... I'm serious. Vermintide 2 was an incredible game. Darktide is only an above average game. I get that you're a 40K fan, but if I have to load up a 40K game I'd rather it be Space Marine or Dawn of War.
Nott all warp transits are that violent. The system they happened to be warping into is under direct demon threat so they had a bit of a bumpy ride on the exit.

Ogryns are ABhumans .. it means - something other than that they have fabulous abs. AFAIK most ogryns are not cannibals or even particularly gluttonous - but ratlings (also abhumans) eat a lot for their size and have a nasty tendency to pilfer supplies (they're basically hobbits in space) .
the zealot woman is not a sister of battle, just your "regular" religious fanatics,
Darktide is fun for about a month.... then you realize there's only like 5 maps and that the end game itemization is absolute trash.
Vermintide is the better game by far....so far anyway.
i want to love this game so bad, but i can't play solo and enjoy it at my own pace and forced to play with others so until fatshark add bot mode. i shelf the game. shame really.. just really shame..
