      Except that judging by the architecture, this is a Scandinavian "black church" from around the 1000s. There was in fact a period of several centuries in which Christianity and Norse heathenism existed side by side.

      The monasteries were full of gold at the time. Like if those megachurch pastors bought gold instead of jets, and mansions. They were objectively totally worth the looting.

      Miguel Rey well yes but this wasn’t immoral either. Morality I based on your own opinions and religion. They believed that the weak suffered so the strong could live. Men killed and raped, women killed and raped. As well as christians, Greeks, pagans, Muslims each religion is based on ones morality and to believe yours is better than their’s is hypocritical. The Vikings also lived at a time where it was kill or be killed. They had to fight to survive.

      Matt LITC I'm going to have to call Bullshit on that one as I place high doubts that the Bible written down in the area of the Mediterranean was based on Nordic mythos.
      Don't forget that it also went the other way, especially as the majority of Norse Sagas we have written down today came from christian scholars well after Christianity began exerting a strong presence in the area.
      Santa Claus was also based on Saint Nicholas who went around giving gifts in Russia as well.
      Christmas though was a Christianized holiday but celebrations are pretty common throughout the world so it still isn't exactly special.

      Untrue. That would imply that other religions are based upon truth. And that once all you've got is a lifeless hunk of soulless meatsack of skin/bones, anything done to it on Earth matters one bit. Certainly you should respect what was once a reciprocal for the soul of a person. But once someone's Dead, nothing you do with their body('ies), will effect that person's eventual fate.
      (I hope and pray that your death would not result in "bodies", but you can't always help how you die)
      Peace! ✌😇✝

      Yeah, I mean, what were they thinking ?! That's what I hate about religion, there'll always be these pricks who think their religion is the "Correct One". I mean, if I was an egyptian and found a dead celt in my garden, I wouldn't dry him up and put him in a box because that's my religion, I would research the correct burrial way of his religion. To *honor* him. To *_respect_* him.
      God.
      Fucking dammit.
      *_WHY AM I ANGRY OVER A FUNNY CARTOON ?!_*
      Oh, BTW, if I wasn't clear on that, I don't mean that _every_ religous person is a prick, I meant that there is some of them who are pricks while the other a respectful people who do not judge on other people's belief.

    • @SmolTerribleTornado
      @SmolTerribleTornado 10 лет назад +8

      Maybe, to me the nirvana is the most accuarate description of hell
      You can't think, or feel, or even be. A state of inexistence and solitude, like a total void.
      Man, any other ethernal life sounds better than that to me, where you can DO SOMETHING after die.

    • @B20C0
      @B20C0 9 лет назад +3

      TornadoAzulK4
      Why's that? If you don't exist, cannot think, feel or be, how are you supposed to EXPERIENCE the void?
      Perfectly fine for me, total non-existance. Count me in.

    • @SmolTerribleTornado
      @SmolTerribleTornado 9 лет назад

      B20C0 Well i'm not shure if it was being nothing (like just dead) or in midle of nothing without reincarnate, but either way sounds really booring to me. However, this prooves the point that one man heaven can be other men hell

      TornadoAzulK4 You can't feel boredom.

    • @DemonOfTheSkies
      @DemonOfTheSkies 9 лет назад +2

      Thats a thought that will drive you mad, non-existance and the more you think about it the worse it gets; Simply because we are so used to existing, it's hard to imagine what it would be like to not exist, this is the fear of death. Once death comes calling we cease to be and because of this we look for life after death, and any thing is better than "the void" in my opinoin.

    • @ducky4395
      @ducky4395 6 лет назад +10

      I'm afraid that you aren't entirely correct.
      While Valhalla isn't the exact same as Asgaard, it is located in Asgaard.
      Valhalla comes from the old norse "Valhöll" which means hall of the slain, and is essentially an enormous hall of warriors built in Asgaard and ruled by Odin.
      Upon a glorious death in combat Odin would choose one of two fates for you.
      You were either sent to Valhalla to join the ranks of the other warriors and heroes, here you would train, feast and generally prepare to aid Odin in the inevitable Ragnarok.
      The other half would be sent to Freyja, as for what they would do there I am not entirely sure, it is outside my realm of knowledge.
      Either-way, all we know about Valhalla and Asgaard is through the written Saga's, and there are minute differences depending on where that saga originated, you'll find it that saga's from Denmark may have a slightly different narrative than those from Norway, Sweden and Iceland, but it is pretty much the same in terms of Valhalla and Asgaard.
      EDIT:
      I may or may not have completely missed the fact that your comment is 3 years old. None-the-less at least other people know eh?
