I wish they would get rid of the mulch plug all together, and use a lever to switch back and forth like the Toro 60v does. My gas honda push mower also has it. I switched to Ego for signle stage snwo blower last winter. I purchased the trimmer and blower this summer. I was going to purchase the mower, but the Honda is still going strong. My back yard slops slight to the back, and the last 20-30% of the grass grows faster when we have rain. Being able to mulch the first 70% and then simply switch to bagging without having to stop and remove or insert a mulch plug is very convenient

Just bought this exact mower! It's awesome! Cuts my Tall Fescue grass perfectly! Plenty of power, so easy to use. It's also a nice conversation piece. Neighbors walking by ask me " is that one of those battery powered lawn mower "? I have 8000 sq.ft property battery last the whole time I'm working. My kids now wanna help doing yard work now. My mower came with a 7.5 AH battery and cool charger. Charges very fast. Picked this up at Lowes for $700.00. Makes yard work fun👍

Just bought one a couple of weeks ago. Switched from a push gas mower. Love having the electric start and self propelled feature especially with some small hills that I have. It is quieter and cuts pretty clean. I was able to cut my front and back and it had one bar left and that was because it was using higher RPM because my grass was longer. Now I don't cut it as short and will mow more often. Battery chargers pretty quick and I have about 5500 sq ft of grass so far I am happy and glad that I switched since my son likes to help and now I don't have to worry about him handling it spoiling gas. Not to mention the trips to the gas station!

The lighter weight, quietness, and build quality are all excellent. I used the self-propelled as an assist when going up hill. I just press the button while I'm walking and the self-propelled just feathers itself in. Probably push my EGO 70% of the time. The ball-bearing wheels make it move easily. Honda had the same issue with the wheels not UN-engaging when pulling backwards. That went away on my Honda after the grease settled in and let the latches release on their own. Surprisingly, this does NOT happen on my EGO! It just works, with no hanging up on the wheels being pulled backwards.
The mulching blade also works well with the bagging option. I had no problems picking up fall leaves with it. I'm sure the high-lift blade is even better, but the mulching blade does have suction to do bagging. Throws the clippings right to the back of the bag.
To me, the big plus on EGO is the handle design. Ergonomic in so many ways, right down the single lever to quickly move out of the way to remove bag. My Honda, aside from being so heavy, required multiple mashonations to get it adjusted/moved.
I did get the WiFi working on CH7000 charger, but had to go through a lot of hoops to make it fly. Only when I put the app on an older Android tablet, did the pairing to wifi work. I was then able to use the app on my newer android phone afterwards with no problem. Second, the CH7000 would not connect to my 2.4 Ghz wifi unless it was surprisingly close enough to the hub. The CH7000 has a very weak Wifi transmitter. Also, the CH7000 does not support 5 Ghz wifi. How they released a product without support 5 Ghz is beyond me.
10aH battery is expensive, luckily has that longer 5 year warranty. 1/3 acre of property, and I still have two bars left on battery. When I put it on the charger, it reported being at 45% charge. Nice.
Yea, the plastic sound is off-putting, but you also can hear the birds chirping or the wife telling you how much she Loves you WHILE you are mowing.
And why didn't EGO put a USB port on the mower? Oh, the things you could power on there. Like a fan to keep you cool ! Bluetooth speaker!

Enjoy your videos, you helped me make a decision on the XP by watching your videos just in time for summer. The XP has been a big improvement. I was torn on what to do with my 2016 and the dying batteries. After watching your video I decided it was time to upgrade. Never looked back thank you. Oh and the wheels locking when pulling back even without self propelled engaged it happens to me and has since my 2016 too. I find it irritating to say the least. Thanks again.

I too have experienced the wheel motor engagement without self propelled activated. It seems to happen a lot when making frequent turns.
Something I would add to the wishlist would be to have wider wheels. Larger too but also wider. It would spread out the weight so you could mow on softer ground without leaving as deep of a rut.
I have an area of the yard that takes forever to dry out. There have been times that I’ve needed to mow before the next rain but that area hasn’t dried out enough. That resulted in some rutting.
This is REALLY reaching but…can you imagine Omni directional wheels! Oh Man!!!

My father purchased an EGO mower this year. Works well for the most part. Wheels do engage/grab every now and then when pulling back, but it seems to be much less often now than when it was new. Other issue noticed this fall when trying to cut the grass really low in preparation for winter snow, is on the lowest height the deck seems to not allow any airflow to suck up the clippings and a lot are left behind. This happens even after picking up all the clippings on height 2 or 3, and after multiple mowings on the lowest height. I think the grass is just too thick and the edges of the deck are lower than the blade so those edges are always are deeper in the uncut grass and no air gets in.
I too would like bigger wheels!

      @TechMadeEzy  2 года назад +1

Hi Sylvan thanks for watching 👍🏻
I would recommend the hi-lift blade but only when you're bagging it really doesn't do a good job cutting up the grass. It creates some really nice suction and throws it right in your bag very well

Money well worth investing on. Warranty is great. Not many manufacturers can offer that kind of lengthy warranty for a great product.

The SelectCut XP seems to be an electric version of a Honda Harmony gas mower. They use the same style plastic deck, and some models have the one-lever blade height adjustment. They also use the identical blade system as the Hondas...and ironically, speaking as an owner of a Honda Harmony mower....They *ALSO* have that weird self-propel engagement issue! The Honda mowers use a ratchet pawl system on the gear, so you can push it faster than the self-propel, or push it when it's not engaged. The ratchet is supposed to release, so you can roll it backwards, but it doesn't always work, and you end up just dragging the back wheels. SAME resolution as the EGO..Push it forward, or blip the self propel, adn then it will roll backwards properly. Oh, and the Honda Harmony also makes that plasticky sound when it's rolling around powered down as well!

Nice review. Coming from a nice Honda I am mostly happy with this mower. I do have 4 minor issues though.
    1. You are not kidding that the blades need to be sharpened more often. I have been getting about 3 cuts before having to sharpen the blades.
    2. Even with the blades sharp I still get many more stragglers with the mulching blade than I did with the Honda. Going to try the high lift blade and see if that does a better job.
    3. The mower leaves a line of mulched grass down the left side. Not sure if there is something I can do to stop that. I've tried playing with the mulching plug but it still does it.
    4. I have had the wheels lock on me a couple of time when trying to pull back.
All in all I am happy with it. I certainly don't miss changing oil and putting gas in it. I only have a couple of cuts left for the year. It will be nice just to hang it up out of the way with no winter prep.

Keep in mind the high lift blade isn't as good mulching when it comes to the mulch (gator) blade. That blade is great when bagging. Thanks for sharing your experience

Originally came across the channel b/c of the 2 stage snow blower and kept watching. I have the snow blower on order (lowes didn’t have the 4 10ah battery package in stock so ordered from an online site and waiting - saw the reviews of this mower and picked one up - can’t wait to mow my lawn and compare it to my older 20inch dual blade dual battery 40v greenworks - which seemed a little under powered and always left a ridge between the two small blades. The dual battery was nice but that’s b/c the 40v maxed out at 4ah. Can’t believe I’m this excited to cut my lawn. I have a garage full of greenworks 40v tools (trimmers, chainsaw, pole saw, weed wackers, and multiple blowers) but have a feeling will be slowly transitioning the rest to ego.

Great video. I have this mower as well; had it for one year now. My dislike (peeve) is that the mower width does not cut where you think it will. What you end up is overlappipng your mower cut to ensure you cut your rows evenly. So when you mow a row, you typically place your wheels on one side of the mower onto the outer wheel marks from the row you just mowed. With this mower, you have to acually place your wheels like 2 inches to the side of the wheel mark you just made. Other than that its been a really good mower. I also agree that the "plastic ratteling of the mower" makes it sound cheap, but this mower is really well made and will be very durable.

Thanks for the review, good info. First of all I really like the ego lm 2156, but I’d like to add one dislike I have with the motor bearing knock noise on bumpy lawns, I know it’s from the motor bearing because if I spin the blades by hand and slightly wiggle them as you rotate them, they knock (so there is bearing slop). For a test, I cross bladed with two stock economy blades, two stock mulching blades and also two of the stock high lift blades and the knocking completely disappears when operating the lawn mower in a bumpy yard. I don’t want to, nor do intend to cross blade, I want to use the mower as designed, so I just put up with knock noise, but unfortunately it makes it sound cheap. I wish Ego would look into this.

My man has his fiancé cutting the grass. Well done! I'm thinking about buy one this week to replace my Honda (which is having self-propel issues). I hope the quality of the cut is comparable. One thing i already think I may miss with the EGO is the method of engaging the speed of the walk. The Honda had a thumb-operated speed control which you can constantly and easily vary as you walk, turn. etc.

I bought the 2156SP 6 months ago and agree with your dislike about the rear wheels “locking up” when trying to pull the mower backwards. My model has the same annoying issue.
Another dislike is using height adjustment by number rather than inches/cm. If there was a decal or imprint to show true height from lowest blade to bottom of wheels would be helpful. My Ego Z6 E-Steer 42” has height adjustment settings in 1/3” increments from 1 1/3” to 4 1/3”. Crazy way to measure blade height if you ask me.
GREAT REVIEW! Excellent presentation and well thought-out lists.

Regarding the blade sharpening issue for this particular mower.
For my previous Honda mower and now my EGO LM2156SP I was curious about the necessary frequency of sharpening, the (undocumented) angle of delivered blades, and the relative quality of cuts of various blades. So to address these questions I did, and am doing, the following:
    1. Purchased the All American blade sharpener system to routinely sharpen used blades to match incoming blade angles and sharpness.
    2. Purchased and use a digital protractor (?) to record blade angles on incoming blades. And to assure blade angles are sharpened (by me) consistently.
    3. This season for every other mow I randomly select 10 grass blades before and after each mow. I then photograph the collection of grass blades and under magnification categorize the condition of the grass blade tips (clean slice, slight tear, and raggedy). I try to keep this process as consistent as possible between mows.
I have owned EGO mower since July and have executed this routine for about five mows (5 hours total mowing time). The installed blade configuration has been constant and limited to the basic upper and "gator" blades only.
After these mows and maintaining the blade configuration noted above as initially delivered (no sharpening by me). I notice very little, if any, degradation so far of the grass cut. I expect to complete three more mows this season (Northern VA) and will document results at the end of the season.

I got this mower as a steal at Lowe's, open box. It was less than half full retail so I snagged that sucker with the quickness. I'm madly in love with this mower, and didn't initially realize it was their top of the line model at the time. I agree with your list of likes, and even a few of the dislikes though some feel like splitting hairs a bit. The wish list items - totally agreed. They should make the battery alert system on the handle something that is easier to read and stands out more. I honestly forgot it existed, unless I'm staring at/examining the mower. Having handles on the batteries would be my #1. They're heavy af.

I JUST bought one of these from a salvage store...brand new!!
I had heard great things about this mower's battery longevity, which is important to me.
After puttering around my lawn for half-hour on a FULL battery, the battery indicator showed just one bar left!! And, this was my FIRST TIME using the mower. 😑
I'm charging it now and will try again tomorrow...Hopefully, it will do better! 😬
I sure appreciate your video! This is my first time owning an electric mower. I am slowly converting over to almost ALL electric/brushless tools! No smell, no noise, and hardly ANY maintenance!!
Still gotta keep my big beast, my Kubota tractor but am loving all these electric gadgets for the rest of the projects around the homestead! 🤩

My theory on the motor engaging on a backward roll is that is a safety feature. It doesn't happen every time, so you might argue it isn't, but in my brief experience, there does somewhat seem to be a pattern. Sudden, quick backward movements seem to engage the motor, so it may just be an anti-rollback feature that has the unintentional consequence of engaging when we actually WANT the mower to back up.

So I just got this today. First time electric mower user. I loved the power and that I could see the indicator lights. I had the self-propelled function on 90% of the time and the charge lasted just over 45 minutes. What I didn't like was the difficult time I had turning the mower, it put a strain on my back for sure. I had the same issue with the back wheels locking when trying to pull backwards. Support said that issue with the wheels locking is a safety issue so that if you are mowing uphill it won't go backwards mowing you over. My biggest complaint is the quality of the cut. Even with the mulching blade it sometimes left uneven patches and it didn't do a good of a job as a gas powered mower as far fine cutting of edges. Oh, and my box was missing a side shoot. I called customer service and I wish I could say it was a good experience but it wasn't. They basically blamed me for the uneven cut (I used to mow lawns for a living, I know how to mow) and for the missing part, it's not a warranty item and I would have to pay out of pocket for it. I just bought the dang thing this morning. I will have to see if not having to do gas powered maintenance outways this. I hope others have a better experience than I did.

I’ve had my mower for almost two seasons now. It is the best mulching mower I have ever owned. Never see clumps. However, when I mulch cut above 2.5 inches it leaves an unacceptable number of uncut blades, requiring me to double cut the lawn. I think it’s a suction issue. I don’t want to bag the grass so the high lift blade doesn’t seem like the answer. Blade is sharp. I feel like Ego needs to come up with a blade that combines mulching with high lift. For the money I paid for this, I should be able to get more Honda like cut quality. Otherwise l love the mower.

My understanding is the locking wheel issue is an intentional safety feature to prevent a runaway mower. Supposedly if you pull back slowly and evenly it doesn't engage. I agree it too often interferes with mowing and it's engagement should be less sensitive. Nobody mentioned my number one complaint which is the mower still lacks the suction of my old bagging only Honda. It's especially noticeable when trying to cut above the #4 height setting. When cutting grass taller it too often doesn't lift the grass that's laying down to cut evenly and eventually it becomes too long and heavy to be lifted by the mower. Especially problematic on slightly uneven terrain or less dense areas in my turf. I have kbg for reference.
Another nice feature would be if they could weatherize the underneath portion of the mower so you can hose it off to clean it! One other small complaint is I wish they'd improve the battery lid cover. It's too loose and makes a rattle when mowing. Another nice addition would be changing the markings on the height adjustment to correspond to a height of cut. But I understand most users don't care to know the actual cut height. Other than those issues the mower is near perfect.
Thanks for your comparison video of the XP with your Honda. It was that detailed head to head comparison that made be decide to look into an EGO when my 32 year old Honda died this summer and Honda was out of stock on a replacement. Excellent comparison. EGO should have you on their payroll. I wonder how much business you've sent their way.

  • @edwardamo
    @edwardamo 9 месяцев назад +1

I've had mine for a few years now as well, and I completely agree with you on the annoyance of the drive mechanism frequently "catching" when you back up, and about the blade needing sharpening so often. (I assume it's just a lower quality steel than other brands use, which is really inexcusable considering the price of this thing.) My other annoyances would be 1) that even with the hi-lift blade, it really doesn't lift the grass as effectively as my old gas mower did, and 2) that the 90-degree angled part of the handle where you have to hold your hands to use the drive feature bends my wrists back too vertically for comfort. (That's a HUGE one, as I bet anyone who's ever struggled with carpal tunnel syndrome will fully agree with.) I'm seriously considering switching brands over these 4 things.

I have an EGO LM2156SP that is giving inaccurate remaining charge readings while in mower and mowing. There have been times that battery lights have gone from 5 lit to 2 lit within 10 minutes of start of a weekly mow. The problem became severe last week when the battery went from 3 lights lit to one light lit, then a flashing red light, and mower stopped. Normally releasing the battery and reinstalling it allows me to finish mowing but that didn't happen this time. I brought the battery inside to the charger and remaining charge indicated 52% through EGO phone app. I am almost certain there is an issue between the battery contact fins in the mower and the battery contacts. My question is: in your mower battery compartment, does the black module with the 3 metal contact fins have some play or is it completely secure in the compartment? My mower, battery, and charger are one year old. I have contacted EGO support and they suggest returning it to Lowes since there is no EGO service center close.

My one fear is twice the cost in the long run. If battery gets weaker (shorter charge) in 4 or 5 years and I am forced to buy a new one, it's nearly the cost of a new mower entirely. I currently have a Toro PP/SP, 2011 model, and I have probably spent about $7/yr in gas. It takes just under 2.5 gallons to mow once a week from early April to early October. One 2.5 gallon container all cutting season with maybe 1/4 gallon left over. Average gas prices since 2011 guessing about $3.30 a gallon (some times down near 2, mostly around 3 and sometimes, like now, up around 4/gallon). So I have spent, roughly $70 - $80 in gas over 10 years. I have also changed the oil 5 times (every other year, just wasn't dirty enough) and at less than 1 qt needed, and maybe avg $4.00 a quart, that's another $20 or so. Add in two air filters and not much else (well just changed spark plug first time, $5) and I am at roughly $100 in fuel, oil and filter costs over 10 years.
I have been studying electric and the fact its going to cost me quite a bit more over next 10 years is concerning. I know batteries don't last, we probably all know that. I have a cordless Andi's BGRV hair clipper I love, but after 6 years of light usage (just me) had to fork over $80 for a new battery (the clippers were just over $200 new, battery included). These electrics, low maintenance and cost saving are not quite as advertised in the cost realm.
NOW, that said, I have a fairly small yard, something around 1/5 acre, maybe a hair more but close to 1/5 than 1/4. Anything closer or over 1/2 acre and I could see with gas costs doubling, that suddenly electric is making some sense.
Maybe they're still too new (in wide use that is) to tell, but how are battery pack longevity results for some of you? 3 years before charge is just low to keep from aggravating you? 4 years? 5 years? I have no faith any of these batteries will last more than say 5 years mowing once a week over 25 or so weeks during the hot/humid summer days here in ATL. I do get this "cooling" technology will extend longevity, but unless its active (fan and thus a necessary filter with mowing dust), it isn't adding much.
I may have blown up my Toro, I cleaned it thoroughly this winter head off, wired brushed off carbon build up and then apparently overfilled my oil by 5 or so oz. It started first pull after putting it back together (this Toro always starts first pull, crazy what gas mowers do these days), but it had a ticking sound. I figured out too much oil, but only after I mowed 1.5 times (didn't finish this time). I hope it starts up later in week, but if it doesn't (may have bent the rod or something, it appears okay, but we'll see), I might be looking at one of the Ego models (self propelled). I just cringed at the thought of a $450 battery replacement in 4-6 years (if I am lucky). A good mower, gas or electric, should last AT LEAST 10 years with moderate usage, so long as we don't try to mow the cement curb or rocks and small trees (it ain't a bushhog).
If I have to buy a new battery at nearly the cost of the mower, that to me is like buying two mowers in 10 years, or like having to buy a new ENGINE for my gas mower (though a new engine is about HALF the cost of a new freaking battery...sad ain't it)?

I mostly disregard warranties as i know it will take hours and hours if not weeks and weeks of fruitless time to get a fix or replacement. For every warranty that is 100% honored, no/few questions asked, there are 5 that were NEVER intended to be honored, short of a very expensive lawsuit or threat of one.

The problem that I see is that gas powered equipment now is jetted so lean that it screws up the carbs. I have a toro personal pace with a Briggs gs engine. In the last 5 years I have had to replace the carburetor 3 times. It’s plastic and the jets get gummed up with today’s fuel. No I am not going to purchase true fuel at 48 dollars for 2.5 gallons.

@@chrisgentile3530 Fortunately, I have a few gas stations near me with ethanol-free gas. That should help. I agree, with the asinine regulations (reason we have crappy turbo 4 and turbo 3 engines in most cars and non-giant suv's these days), engines are crappier, leaner, cheaper. We're being forced to go electric/battery, no matter how costly (it WILL cost us more in the end). Hopefully some of these regulations are rolled-back a bit. Sad its' so bad Honda chose to leave the mower market, rather than make crappy, disposable and less environmentally friendly mowers (if you have to toss em every few years, you're not saving the planet)...but I digress.

I live in Central Florida and have a St. Augustine lawn. This time of year, with nearly daily rain, the grass grows pretty long during the week. I am sad to report that the EGO just can't handle the longer grass. Even at the highest setting, I get mohawking and uneven cutting with the mulching blade. I'm 67 years old and I have no desire to mow the lawn 2x to get a better result, so this week I'm going to return it. I do like the ease of setup, the quietness, and the light weight of the mower. But, at the end of the day, it has to mow well, and for my lawn, it just doesn't cut it (pun intended).

The dragging the self propel transmission when you pull back issue is a common problem for "all" rear drive mowers that use a one way drive ratchet ,getting the mechanism to disengage (because the one way drive is ratchet gear is designed to freewheel when overdriven forwarded , but engage the drive when spun back the other way, when this this drives the transmissions shaft and gear reduction drive and adds all its associated drag , its a tricky issue to address they would have to design some kind of physical drive link lock out when the drive is disengaged electrically ..

Yet another great review! I, too, experience the locked wheels. While not a *major* gripe, I’m not a fan of realizing the wheels are locked *after* dragging the mower on the grass for a moment. I haven’t tried to re-engage the WiFi since the first time it didn’t work, but will try again. Question: Per your advice, I don’t keep the power on to the chargers all the time; however, one commenter pointed out EGO’s technology that prevents overcharging. Does the 700-watt charger reconnect to WiFi easily when I turn the charger back on? Also, does that charging technology apply to the other chargers (I have the 10, 7.5, and 2.5Ah batteries with corresponding chargers). One complaint I have is that the mulching blade doesn’t provide adequate suction for my tall fescue when I set the height above 4. I have Bermuda creeping in, and I would really like to suck up the stolons before they connect to the next section of dirt. Would I buy this mower, 650cfm blower, and carbon fiber weed eater again? ABSOLUTELY!! But I agree with all your lists. On the handle, perhaps that’s where the digital percentage meter should go, instead of the five bars. Thanks again!
p.s. I would love to see an effective method of cleaning the underside. I know you’re not supposed to hose it out, but what are your thoughts about this: lay the mower on one side and apply a misting spray only to the bottom portion, then wipe it out. Then turn the mower to lay it on the other side and do the same thing. I’m not too fond of using a putty knife to try to work it all out.
    Thanks again!!

I remove the battery and bag, fold down the handle, lift the front end upward and use the garden hose with the nozzle set to flood to clean the underside. I then lower the mower onto all 4 wheels and use the mist setting for spraying off the upper side of the mower, again, avoiding the battery compartment.

I think it is really the bearings, not drive design per se. Good news perhaps, after a few years of abuse of that mower, I didn’t notice it any more. Lm2156sp motor is slightly stronger after actually using it but the kit does come with a 10ah $500 battery and a super fast charger that cost more. I use my ego more honestly

Thanks. I think I'm going with the LM2135sp simply due to cost. Had no intention of buying a mower now but life happens. I could go ICE for much less but hate dealing with plugs and carbs. The only reason I'd opt for the LM2156 is the increased power that I do not need 90% of the time. I chop A LOT of leaves in the fall, and I suspect no battery powered unit would accomplish what my old gas powered mower did. Game plan is to pick up a used ICE mower for $50 or so to use just in the fall. I can easily get 3-5 inches of leaves to chop.

Thank you for all the great videos. I'm in the market for a new lawn mower will likely buy an Ego but undecided between the LM2135SP and the LM2156SP. Other than the suction test on these two models have you done a head to head on cutting performance of these two models. I have a small lawn under 1/4 acre so run time is not super important but cut performance is important. Since you have both which would you buy today?

Harry 1st thank you so much
It Depends on the price the 2156 really comes with the 10 amp hour battery and the 700 W charger plus the motor is stronger if you worry about pushing through thick grass. Have you check the prices

    • @harrysmidlap9855

@@TechMadeEzy Our local Lowes has the LM2156SP at $799 and the LM2135SP at $699. Price is important but the $100 over several years of use is easier to justify. I have the EGO blower and likely will replace my string trimmer next year with an Ego trimmer providing additional batteries, so mower cut quality and performance are more important. Other than occasional taller grass due to rain delaying normal routine mowing may not need the extra power. In your opinion does the 2156SP give a better cut than the 2135SP during routine weekly mowing?

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  2 года назад

      Grab the 2156 then
      10ah battery is $450 and the 700w charger is $180 I’d pay $100 more
Plus you get the high lift blade and the stronger motor 🔥

Good idea for a battery handle, but not too keen on the dual battery idea. Who mows for 2 1/2 hours straight?
Also, bigger wheels would be more work on the electric motors - the wheel size needs to be engineered with the electric motors to meet the desired torque

  • @MarkRushow

I'd like ego to have a trade-in/upgrade program. Especially for the batteries but also the electric motors if not everything. Refurbish or even just recycle them giving us a core trade-in value.

My mower also engages the self propelle sometimes it lockes the right rear wheel and other times it will create a small amount of drag making the mower slightly harder to push but the causes wheel marks in the lawn

One thing that disappoints me about the the self propelled features of all of these electric mowers is that you have to set a speed and then when you push the button it goes at that speed. I really like the variable speed on my old Toro gas powered mower where you you just push, the harder you push the faster the you go

So how well does this mower cut wet grass? The reason I ask is because where I live, especially this past summer, the humidity is so bad the grass just never dries out. My Honda push mower is always caked up with grass underneath the deck and I have to constantly scrape it every time I go out to mow.

I have had the same issue with the drive motor still being engaged when I pulled back or changed directions. Since I don't use the self propel feature, I removed the gears on the back wheels, problem solved, but I have to be carefull not to press the switches on the handle as it will turn on the drive motor. I modified my handle so that I can latch it with it pulled halfway out. I did have to drill holes and modify the safety switch that is in the handle cross piece. I also romoved the toe guard on the bottom rear as I did not like it folding back when I pulled it back.
I do wish the rear wheels were. 12 to 14 inches
Also wish the nose was shorter to that I can get a closer cut to the house or landscaping at 90 degree angles
Note: the hotter the outdoor temp the shorter the battery time

I don't think the batteries necessarily need a handle; but I DO wish that the tools had a stronger eject spring.
EGO may have already done this. It seems like my newer tools have it. Or maybe it's because the spring has weakened with age. I can't be sure.

Dislike #1, Yeah happens to me too. I stop the self propel motor while mowing and start pushing a few feet before I stop and then pull back and that seems to help. Dislike #3, Please tell us how you got it to connect? I don't know of anyone who has been able to get it to work. I am on like my 3rd charger, and still no connection (though I can connect my phone to the charger, just can't get charger to connect to wifi from there) Disklike #4 , End of season, so I am looking for a blade sharpening tutorial video myself.
