If your looking for the 2156SP be sure you get the refreshed model. It has the wider front tires like the 2167, a phone holder and 8 height settings instead of 7. Make sure the numbers on the box under the model number end in 3. The older model ended with a 2.
I purchased the 2102sp (has rapid charger and 7.5a/h battery) in Sept. of 2020 as Home Depot was clearing out their Ego stock. Been a great mower. I do not baby it...will cut grass if wet in the morning to avoid the heat and humidity of the later day. It has no problems and does not clog up. Also use it for leaf season and mulch all the leaves up. It has been a great purchase.
The 2135 also came with green blades and NOT the high lift, at least it happened to me, I got mine I think around september 2020 and it came with the mulch and extended lifetime blades, both green in color. I love this thing, I would enjoy a newer model but this OG is going strong, just sharpened my blades for the first time too and its cutting like butter all over again.

Great video I love your dog Brooklyn spoil him rotten and give him lots of love. Dogs are awesome. Give them all the love you can while they are here. It’s a shame they don’t live longer than 15 years or so.
I bought the model 2167 and it works great when mulching. When I put the high lift blade on with almost no load on the mower it keeps dying. After a long, frustrating call with ego, they said they would replace the mower. Two weeks went by and they called me saying that the 2167 was being recalled and they offered me the 2160 and a blower as a replacement. I told them I wanted the exact model I had purchased replaced or my money refunded. They said they would refund the money if I returned the mower and they will be sending me a label for return. That was four days ago and so far I have received nothing else from them except an opinion survey about the level of customer service satisfaction I had. The grass isn’t growing much yet and I really want to give the 2167 another try, but I’m confused with the representatives comment about the mower being recalled. I would recommend caution to anyone considering purchase of this more pending the outcome of my situation. I see this model is still being sold at my local Lowe’s so I don’t think the rep knew what she was talking about.
Forward to July 2023, the 2156xp is on sale at $150.00 off because it’s being replaced by a 12ah version. After looking at many reviews and the discount it’s the best way to go. Not many seem happy with the speed IQ models.
Great comparisons on the select cut models. I’m still happy with my lm2135sp and for 599 that I got it last year on sale is a good value for the select cut models if they do that this spring. But I’ve noticed the prices went up on the lm2135sp and lm2156sp. As always great content and definitely really enjoy the comparison videos 👍
Great comparison. I’m just in the process of making the switch to electric. Costco in Canada has a great deal on a greenworks 80v mower, trimmer, and blower combo. So I’ve ordered that to try out while the sale is still on, but I am still researching other options. All signs point to Ego for me, but to get a similar 3 piece set would cost 50% more, which is hard to stomach.
Just be careful and make your decision looking at the bigger picture you want to make sure if you invest in one tool and you get a battery and everything that it's going to work in other tools that are actually available. One of the reasons I personally mostly use ego is that battery works with many tools and those tools are easy to find
I think it'd be cool of Ego did something revolutionary, like made it so the front wheels or possibly even the rear, turned, even if only 45 to 90 degrees, if not full rotation. Then they can play with power steering. Maybe a turnaround type button where it turns the wheels all the way and then locks the rear wheel on the direction ur going, kinda like the new Bronco with trail turn, type of idea. I think there is so many avenues to go with ego and they have the funds and ability to do it right.
Excellent video! I just purchased a 2135SP from Lowes and when unboxed the mower says 2130SP! I googled the difference and basically the '0' means not with battery and charger. I received in the box the charger, battery, 2 extra blades, the rear discharge, and bag. . It was confusing but I guess things are ok?
@@TechMadeEzy I was thinking there was a mistake since I ordered 2135SP and that is what the box says! The mower sticker says 2130SP ! The price was $750 but I had a discount on it.
A little late here, but I also just purchased a 2135sp, and mine too says 2130sp on the deck. If I had to guess, all of them are going to say 30 on the mower, with the 35 only showing on the box, designating it is a kit and not the tool only.
A question I have that you probably won't be able to test until spring, when using the speed IQ are you able to step to the side and assist push it with one hand if you had to say, awkwardly mowing under a short tree?
Hi I believe so. I believe it still works as long as it senses your hand is on the handle but to be 100% sure yeah it would have to be during real mowing.
I wish they made the new handle with a 10kw battery. I dont really need the speedIQ, but I like the simpler design with the wire loom gone and the single button to fold it all up.
