  • The Behind The Back Dribble is such an underrated dribbling move. Many ways of doing the BTB. Using it a counter - wrap around the back like Curry and Jamal Crawford - snatching it back like Kyrie and Kemba (to break ankles) or splitting the PnR like D-Wade. Endless options.

    Hey Coach, can you do a video about baseline behind the back? It's commonly seen in streetball, but I'd love to see a breakdown from you. Tryna add it in my bag. Thanks!

      Love that move - been doing it ever since I picked it up from the Professor back in the day.
      Not sure if it's enough content for a whole video though, I'll mention it if I do a video on streetball moves or how to drive baseline.

    I’m not gonna lie I always knew how to wrap a behind the back but never used it until I had to score on oother defenders because tweens and crosses didn’t work. This is a perfect move because if I do a btb I can pull up so smoothly off it.

    Do this move and the spin move accomplish the same thing?

    • @CoachFrikki
      @CoachFrikki  3 года назад +7

      These moves have a lot in common. Both should be used as hard changes of directions against reaches and when defenders cut you off. The main difference is where on the court you are.
      Use the spin move finish when close to the basket - pick the ball right up (no extra dribble after spin) + layup. Spin move is better here because of ball protection, you can pick the ball up and keep it away from multiple defenders before finishing.
      Behind the back when dribbling far away from the basket. BTB dribble is almost always preferable because turning in circles takes time and you lose sight of the court for a second. Sometimes though you get into trouble and a reactive spin move is the best way to solve it. Not often though - and it's better to solve it with a BTB dribble 95% of the time.

      Jamal Crawford was so insane. So damn fluid. Spent endless hours back in the day mastering his shake & bake. Might do a video on him, or at least try to include him more in the next videos.
