Good thoughts as always. I picked up Aliens vs Avengers based on all the good reviews I saw. Did I like it, yes, did I think it was worth $8.00, no. Story was well told, art was good, very dark but I understand the art fits the tone of the story. I did not expect The Avengers to be so old. Avengers on the cover did not match the Avengers in the story. I know T'Challa talked about rapid movement of time due to the events, so not sure if that is why they appear old. So, I have a dilemma, I am curious where story goes, but not sure I want to pay $8.00 again. September's comic is 40 pages, so even less than this month.

I ended up grabbing Aliens vs. Avengers despite the ridiculous price tag. It's a great read and I really enjoyed it... I loved the ending. I'm bummed the next issues are gonna 7.99 as well... dang. Marvel got me.
It’s gonna continue at 8 bucks? It was pretty decent, but that’s a deal killer. I will not continue at that price.
i feel as though the $8 per issue per variant cover wont matter when price of this comic 10x when the alien vs avenger movie is announced.
Liefeld should do an entire comic that's nothing but closeups of people's feet just to troll everyone. It would sell like crazy.

yes, it's an $8.00 comic. but, it's not an every month one either. infact we won't see issue #2 till nov. which i think is good cause i will be done with absolute power event and my comics will be less hassle every month.
I think that's good and it's bad because when a book takes a couple months off I feel like it does lose a little bit of its momentum and even though absolute power will be over we will have we see all in and the new absolute universe.

I hate that the font is so tiny on Popeye. They really need to fix that because I think the book could be a hit if it wasn't for that.

I was very curious about convert so good to hear your thoughts. My lcs had a giant stack of those so still might pick up a copy at some point and read for myself because it looked kind of cool. I skipped Ava due to the price glad to hear it's good though!

I really wanted to pick up Eye Lie Popeye too. I had it in my hands and when I looked through it and seen how small the words were it wasn’t gonna be good for me. It’s unfortunate because I was really looking forward to it but like you said, I gotta be able to read it.
Yeah when you have to strain your eyes in order to read a comic book it's not any fun that way.

I feel sorry for kids growing up now. Even kids targeted books are at full price, $5? In the past, I think the Archie and Richie Rich or other Harvey character books were cheaper or they had cheaper options like the collected digests. The comic book industry is not really cultivating the next generation of comic book collectors. Most people in comic shops are in the 20s and 30s with only some families sprinkled in.
Yeah definitely curious to see where comics will be in the next 20 years or so They need to stop before they price themselves out It's getting very close
