I love how Capullo draws Wolverine! It makes me wish he was on the main book . However I do agree, first issue felt a little off and I don't know how I feel about the story . Hopefully issue 2 makes us forget any doubt .
Yeah it really was just kind of plain There wasn't this real high intensity storytelling to get you excited like next level excited You were just thrown in there and I think that's what took me out of the story a little bit.
Just subscribed! My thoughts on Wolverine: revenge -Red Band edition is heck yeah! This story isn't wasting time. The story premise is set and here we go! Sad My 2 favorite characters didn't survive the first issue. But glad this is in its own universe. even though the story isn't wasting time, Greg capullo's art is shining in every panel. Beautiful! I can tell this isn't the "traditional" Hickman story but he is playing to Capullo's style! Similar to what Hickman did for Sanford Greene in the "Doom" one-shot.
Thank you for subbing to the channel hopefully you enjoy all my content. Also I am happy you enjoyed the book. Looking forward to issue 2 curious to see the direction
I bought Wolverine Revenge digital version, the Red Band version & a couple of variants & I have to say overall Im a bit disappointed how simplistic artwork was. Now the beginning panels/pages with the dinosaurs 🦖 up to Fury presence & the very end panels in the Red Band issue was Capullo’s work at its best. 8/10 for me It’s WORTHY but needs improvement
Yeah I agree I just felt that I have seen better art from him in the past and the story was just very plain for the most part characters standing around no real fighting scenes so maybe as time goes along it will get better and the plot will be better also.
I enjoyed the first arc. But it wasn't as great as it should have been. And the way it set up the second story just makes it seem like the second story isn't gonna be very interesting. At 1.99 I might have stuck around for the second arc.
@@ComicBookCorner2.0 he’s doing 5 issues of Wolverine Revenge. Stegman and Marquez are only doing the first 5 issues of their books. I guess Marvel figured it would be more prestigious to have him do Wolverine with Hickman.
I agree about Capullo’s Cap. Looks too much like his Bruce Wayne. His Wolverine is AMAZING though. What I bought the book for. Honestly this could’ve been written by anyone. It’s all about Capullo’s Wolverine with this title!
I’m still trying to understand Mike’s art preferences. Jeff Spokes’ (Jenny Sparks) art is beautiful. As for Jenny Sparks character, I’ve read some of the books from the Wildstorm /Image days - mainly Authorities. She is supposed to be an immortal or someone very old. So, she smokes and kind of sarcastic - similar to John Constantine. But knowing Tom King, he probably elevated those points. Still waiting to get my copy.
Howdy Mike! Never heard of "Something Crawled Out" but seemed just interesting enough for me to try issue #1, and I appreciate the honest review. Also, you sold me on Night Club, definitely checking out volume 1. Havent read my Wolverine Revenge yet, heres to hoping its good 🤞. Thanks for the daily content brother.
Hopefully you will enjoy wolverine's revenge and maybe you understand what I'm talking about once you read it But when it comes to nightclub volume one definitely read that book that is a phenomenal read
I agree on Wolverine, didn't hate it, but felt disappointed. Like you, I was disappointed with the choice of villains. I liked Venom War Venemous more that you, I really love the artwork and enjoyed the story. Didn't think I would like Black Widow with a symbiote, but they have done a good job of giving this symbiote a different personality than the others.
I've heard from multiple people that Stand Still from Image was the best comic this week, waiting for my comics from this week to arrive so I can check it out
Everybody is talking about this book in the comment sections Like I said to others I don't think my shop had it so I will read it digitally and I will talk about it on Monday in this week's episode of after the pull
Do you have a short box, maybe even a long box, filled with books like Patra and Something Crawled Out? I do, a short box of #1's from all companies that just didn't interest me. Hoping that one day 10% of them will be worth something so I can at least break even on the bunch.
Usually what I do is any book that I find that doesn't interest me or I Don't want to keep right away I put it in a short box to put in my garage sale and I will sell them for super cheap because you never know people might find enjoyment out of a book that I didn't like
I don't think my shop received it They did tell me that some of the image books were damaged So I'm going to have to find it digitally everybody is talking about this book in this comment section So I'll read it digitally like I said and talk about it on after the pull on Monday
Think they overdid Jenny's vices. Yes, she has them, but they aren't the most compelling aspects of her character. When I read "The Authority", she was the leader of the group, and quite powerful. She is smart, and ruthless as a leader. Sounds like whoever wrote this current book didn't do their homework on the character. Disappointing, but not a surprise, since this seems to be the mantra these days for both the big two (ignore continuity or legacy, and just write characters as if they have no past canon). I was OK with Fury's expression, but Cap's eyes were jarring, so I agree with you on that. I've always seen his eyes a darker shade of blue than that. Capullo did a nice job on Logan though, and since it's his book, that's super important. Also agree with you about Deadpool being in the book. Would have been perfect for me if just Omega Red and Sabertooth were in it. Colossus being opposed to Logan was a bit of a surprise. I will say this book seemed to have a much quicker pace than the typical Hickman story, and I actually appreciated that. Regular editions are always preferred by me, because I don't need blood and gore for me to enjoy a good story. In some cases, that can even detract from a story for me, if used in excess. Thanks, Slayer. I could relate to most of your points on this book.
Always my pleasure Sebastian Yeah this Wolverine book was good but it definitely had flaws and I'm hoping that it does get better as time goes along also when it came to Jenny Sparks the writer of the book was Tom King so there's that lol
"Stand Still" from Image was the best #1 comic i've read in a while.
I was shocked to see him not have this comic. Great art and great value. Go back and get it, Mike 😂
Definitely agree. They used great quality to make the book. Like they knew people are going to reread it over and over again.
I will have to see if my shop had it or just over looked it.
@@ComicBookCorner2.0I picked mine up at Acme around 5pm yesterday. They only had a few copies at that time. Well worth the pick up if you can find it!
100 percent agree

Stand Still was a AMAZING First this week!!!!!!!! A must read and huge value with so many pages
My shop didn't have it in stock I'm going to have to read it digitally and then I will talk about it in Monday's episode of After the Pull

The cool thing about night club is that it was $1.99 with image. Dark horse has jumped the price on every Millar book
Wolverine revenge is cool for something different. So many others that were more of a dud.
Yeah I wish they kept the same price point but that's how it goes
I enjoyed the first arc. But it wasn't as great as it should have been. And the way it set up the second story just makes it seem like the second story isn't gonna be very interesting.

Night Club is soooo good. I'm so happy it's back. I was actually a bit disappointed with Capullo's artwork in Wolverine. Looked too much like JRJR :(
I was expecting better art from wolverine revenge. Luciano Vecchio killed it in his artwork and he is quickly becoming my favorite artist
this wolverine issue was a set up for whats to come and it was amazing 10/10
Glad you like it Hopefully in the next issue will be even better
I thank the best thing of Wolverine is going to be Coppola art work. It might get better with story.
I agree with you
Thanks showing the Red Band panels.
My pleasure
I honestly think they should have used Capullo to launch one of the rebooted X titles.
That would have been cool but they probably could only get him for a mini series
@@ComicBookCorner2.0 he’s doing 5 issues of Wolverine Revenge. Stegman and Marquez are only doing the first 5 issues of their books. I guess Marvel figured it would be more prestigious to have him do Wolverine with Hickman.
Night club was a image title and now it's on dark horse
Yes it is

I just give them away.
I’ve seen worst (bloodier) stuff in wolverine last run with sabertooth when he spelled out, happy birthday in body parts. Red band should be band.
Captain America face looks soooo plain.
Oh yeah you're 100% right on that I just got done reading Deadpool and there's a lot more gore in that book
Yeah his eyes are too light They definitely need to be darker
I've found the comic book Wolverine - by Jonathan Hickman but in the trade paper back the price is $19.99❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Something Crawled Out was given to me by my comic store for free. That...I think says something. No, I didn't care for it after I read it.
Yeah it was a little different My shop in the past has given out free copies from vault before
Agree with your take on Wolverine Revenge . Was very meh for me , art and story . I could go less than B .
It's the first issue definitely room for improvement let's see where it goes from here
How does T. King still get work?
There's people that still really enjoy his work
You missed out on Stand Still #1, good story and art. Grade A

Hey buddy ❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂
Jenny us a female Constantine
Revenge is definitely rushed
Huh. A boring, slow-start Tom King comic? What a rare animal that must be…. Lol.
