No sim is ever going to convince Iracing players to come across because of the amount of financial investment they have made in it. This means they are invested in defending it, flaws and all. Like you I am excited for Evo though, just disappointed Monza is not in the starting line up.
Yeahyeah... that usual arguments. I 95% play iRacing and can't wait for AC Evo. Funny enough that the real toxic people are fanatic AMS2 or ACC fanboys. Yaaaawn!
Listen to me, its that good. Also anybody who used moza at the event should not judge this game! The only wheelbase setup more then 2nm was the dd+ and it felt fantastic on it. Anywherelbase setup somewhat ok not even great but ok felt better then acc around the same settings. The fact it did feel that good with such low settings and dampening up is incredibly surprising. As kunos said the brands when turned up the wheel would get a bit wild so they turned everything down. That should tell you how much detail its going to have.
Wonder when the full release will be. Thinking if getting a pc but series x should be good enough idk. Hyped for it no doubt. Will absolutely get wheel, pedal, chair, shifter setup when I get it.
I heard the open world will mainly be hand crafted after the real world example and didn't hear anything yet about it being procedurally generated. And I think UE4 is a bad engine for racing games, pretty much all have issues with ghosting, blurry visually and performance. So glad that they did go back to their own.
'Approved modding' is just a marketing box checked for average buyers. They want to capitalize on the success of the AC1 modding scene, without offering a suitably unrestricted environment to the modders that kept their initially mid title alive. AC1 will outlive this title.
Well, I am still at a wait and see attitude and watch EVO reviews on the released game. I still don't like only having 5 tracks in the game on release, and all are international tracks. Also all the initial tracks I have in other racing games. Again, i hope this game provides rolling or formation lap starts so i can do certain racing series correctly Also what will be the initial cost of the Early release of the game. I figure it will be around 30 dollars, but we shall see. You talk about IRacing, but also how many racers will jump over from AC1 to EVO?? AC1 is still a great game and a ton of awesome track/car content. I want to see what people do with EVO modding before I invest in this game. Will EVO modders be able to do the same kind of content like in AC1?? So right now, this game does not impress me at all. It is like another LMU game (very limited content) with what they give us on initial release, very few tracks and 20 vehicles. There are other things, but I will stop here. Take care.

I think your ultimate sim racer comment may be the biggest issue evo has. You have a mix of casual friendly all rounders on the market or very specialised games for hardcore players. If evo isnt as deep as a gt7 or forza, and not as specialised as other sim racers, is there a real hook to keep playing it without mods. Kunos already kinda experienced this by releasing acc as a specialised product. The restrictions on modding feel quite big for this
I mean for fans, that's a natural process, who wouldn't be excited for the next entrance of any of the franchises of their liking, if anything a bigger problem is RUclipsrs making a million videos about what's hyped over hyped and what not, just to say negative things, people who make valid observation and concerns are very welcome, but people like shite pantar overhyping games that have very very obvious flaws and ignoring them all

I'm not sure about a game economy. Fine for a career mode, but I don't want to have to earn cars to drive them in lobbies or do some quick races.

I'm quite worried about curated mods. Might ruin it really by spooking estabised modders away.
Ill reserve my judgement until i experience what its like on console coz thats where i am right now. Pc vs console is a verry different experience
