Her family is really demeaning about her condition. She literally can’t help it, but she’s being infantilized. She feels like she can’t wear makeup because her mom will feel bad if people talk. And her sister basically called her slow despite their age difference only being 2hears.
My little sister is “older” than me maturity wise because I was way more sheltered and emotionally abused than she was. She got to experience life in a way that I didn’t, so of course I’m behind her in everything. Its something you get used to
I guess you just have look at it in there eyes they are really protective of her so would I be but she is a woman and you have to let her be a woman that's what she wants
Yes I also found it 'arrogant' of her sister the way she talked like: I am emotionally, physically and spiritually older or something.. Did not feel loving to me.. Also the mom crying like she is not going to be okay in this life. Ofcourse she feels that way but it is not really a strong and positive look on it.
I feel bad for her, but at the same time i feel tremendous respect for her strength. To have been through so much and still have that kind of hope and positivity, she truly is an amazing woman. I hope that she will finally get the acceptance she deserves.
Idk the way her older sister spoke about shauna rubbed me the wrong way. And also the way the parents explained why they think she is jealous of Tara. Why can’t someone who is disabled lead a fulfilling life that might look different than their expectation? Even though she struggles, that does not mean that she is ashamed or jealous. I know that probably wasn’t what they meant, but it still made me hurt for Shauna.
It's called arrogance. she comes from a normal size family and so her parents can't fathom the fact that they have a child that's not normal. People can be nice but still have a heavy tone of ignorance and arrogance to their ego and personality.

There’s lots of positives to her size. She would be fantastic working with abused children as they may be more likely to open up to someone like her and tell their story.
She should be making millions as an actor. No labor law restrictions. She can do horror scenes that wouldn't be possible for real children. She can do comedy where she can swear and make lewd comments without ethical concerns. Once she makes a few million dollars she could just pick a place to live and once she's been in once spot for a while people would learn to stop bothering her and accept her for who she is.
Not only that, she could also be in e.g. vampire shows or movies and there would never be a worry about the child actor becoming "too" old to play the role.
I actually met someone with this condition many years ago when I volunteered at a school for special needs children. He was 25 years old but looked like he was 9 or 10; he didn't attend the school for academic purposes as he had long since graduated from college, but it was a convenient place for him to meet his physical therapist who also worked at the school. He enjoyed playing with the children as well, so there was an additional benefit. I couldn't tell you the reason for his condition, but he had a very positive attitude about everything. He knew that he needed to find a job where his diminutive stature would not be an impediment and so he learned how to be a computer programmer. Since I was in IT we actually had quite a bit to talk about. He was living a low-key life on his own, and that seemed to suit him just fine outwardly; but he mentioned how jealous he was of my relationship with my wife after he met her one time so I knew that he was actually quite lonely. I lost touch with him after I stopped volunteering at the school, but I hope that he managed to find someone who can love and accept him.
I feel for people who has to go through this. I had a childhood friend with this condition. Their problems with romance is obvious. I really don't know the solution, it's very difficult to find someone that's isn't in it for the fact that they resemble children.

What an awful thing for someone to go through. I think the worst part is the idea that a meaningful relationship is basically impossible. How do you find someone that simultaneously accepts you having the body of a child, yet isn't "into" that kind of thing like a disgusting weirdo? And even if that person exists, you'd have to deal with a lot of presumptuous stares.
I saw an episode of law and order svu where someone had a condition like this. She ended up dating an actual pedo and I thought it was disgusting but by the end of the episode it did kind of feel like a weird match made in heaven. Still feels weird but I kinda get it

She shows incredible strength, yet I can't help but think about the everyday experiences many of us take for granted that would be complicated in her situation. I think this woman has a great personality and deals with her condition really well. I hope she gets to live a happy life regardless of all the things she has to deal with. With her attitude I think she'll be alright. :)
I can only imagine the challenges she's facing. There's the unwanted attention from the unwanted people. There's the constant need to prove you're capable despite appearances. There's the obvious loss of raw power that to me sounds unimaginable and horrible. And yes. Going to bars would be a challenge along with dating, going into tattoo parlors, and etc.

I think in a different video she explained she wasn’t taking the growth hormones consistently (she didn’t like it I think it made her sick) and that if she had took it consistently she would have been at least 5 ft. But yea due to not take the hormones consistently she stopped growing.
@@mircalehughes7412 This is the exact reason. This videos of her are uploaded late to TLC Australia or is it just airing there? It's long been showed in the US and other parts of the world.
I actually knew a girl who had something similar. Her body was almost stuck growing at around 4 years of age. Her older brother was just a couple years older, but while he looked his age, she still looked like a toddler. The worst part for her is that although she was unable to properly speak, I knew she could understand everything I was saying. She was still a 15 year old girl, but you would only know if you talked to someone
That absolutely broke my heart.
I would literally donate my body to these people if I could.
Were it so easy.
@@ds90seph or they can put their brain in a new body
Yes, she has all of that disadvantages but she is IMMORTAL
I get told all the time that I look like a teenager (and I'm in my late 20s). I can't even imagine what it's like for her! Nothing she does can change the way people perceive her. She sounds like a mature, intelligent young woman, and I hope that her family eventually sees that. She doesn't deserve to live under their thumbs!
You look 35 at least
@@danceyrselfkleen 💀
Same I’m 32 and I still get carded a lot…
Humble yourself. You are a nobody. Why not just say your age since you giving information that wasn't asked for. Be real with yourself cause now nothing you said was valid since you keep that vague part in there
Ignore the above comment, you look great and really young
Hopefully she gets opportunities to go out without her parents with just her friends, and just experience more of the world. Meet new people! Someone that has such positivity should never be confined to just her family. Hope she keeps shining bright!
While that is optimistic, these days, there are so many creeps and dangerous people out there, and with her size and lack of strength due to medical conditions, it would be highly dangerous. My daughter is 6'5" 215 pounds, and I still can't help but remind her to take her Sig with her when she goes out, even if it is a short trip.
@@ghostbravo7127 Not trying to be a dck, I understand that of course a mom will care for her daughter but it sounds like you may want to get checked for an anxiety disorder especially if you live in a "1st world" country. The odds of something bad happening are really, really low even for children walking alone. And "these days" are some of the days of the lowest criminality in human history (again, depends on where you live).
@@throwacnt7603 you really shouldn’t tell people they should get checked for a mental illness, it’s extremely rude and condescending.
I would assume things have happened before that make her parents worried. She is still just 22, your brain doesn’t fully develop until your 25/26 so although it may seem like her parents are restricting her, she is seeing that through the eyes on a inexperienced 22 year old.
@@Shrimpyyyyyyyy I don't care. I'd rather she be healthy and have it checked if it's an issue for her than being "nice" online. Instead you'd rather be polite and weak while not helping someone just to not be rude. If she doesn't have anxiety she can just tell me to go f' myself (even if she does she can tell me to go f' myself tbh) and that would be just fine by me. I am done with pretending like not addressing or being direct with a person is somehow more moral or ethical. That's just weakness of character passing off as virtue.
My heart really goes out for her, she will always be treated like a child by everyone including family simply because she does look like a child. I hope one day she'll have at least a partial cure that'll allow her to look and sound her age even with dwarfism
I think she should see if some measure of testosterone would deepen her voice so at least she could sound her age. Anything to give people a social cue that something is dif here.
Also I feel like at a certain age she will have wrinkles and make her face look older
@@joshspeed7794 Testosterone would not be a solution. It would literally make her body start turning into a male body. She would grow a lot of hair, would develop more of a male body shape, grow an adam's apple, could go bald in the future like men, and would have a permanent male voice. My cousin is transgender and once he started talking Testosterone he looked and sounded like a normal guy. My cousin even has a beard and receding hairline. I highly doubt those side effects would be worth having a deeper voice for this girl.
@@AuraKumo104 That's a high dose. Women have testosterone too, just lower amounts.
@@JohnSmith-wx9wj steroids are steroids. You sound like one of those body builders that says there natural because they only took steroids once.
Cutest 22 year old i have ever seen .
The age itself is setting in and it shows and it’s unfair, she seems like a genuine person all around, and being picked on by bullies and everything her whole life is a whole different level…. I think she’s awesome, needs more love and positive reinforcement from anyone and everyone…
Despite the fact she looks like a child she is very sweet and “respectfully” very cute. I hope she finds that special someone who can deal with the social optics a relationship will bring. She deserves to be happy.
I pray so because some men might feel as if they are with a child and won't consider it they may feel weird about it I know it's not her fault but she looks and sounds like a child no offense
Dating must be exceptionally hard for her. The kinds of guys she would attract would either be kind and understanding (probably a friend first) or the absolute worst of the worst. I feel for her and hope things turn out for her.
@@cc_snipergirl I was thinking the same. Def ped attracted sickos
@@cc_snipergirl I know what you mean by that. Demons live among us!
Unfortunately, yes, there are those types that would cause a problem. But part of what those types are attracted too in children and young teenagers is their innocence and youth itself. Shauna has the maturity and life of a 22yr old for all intents and purposes. With her personality and maturity and those factors in mind, she will be able to find someone that can be with her normally. I'm not sure a predator would even try with her considering the people around her and the fact that she doesn't have a childs innocence or lack of maturity to her personality.
I just gotta say it. I think the thing I REALLY feel bad for her with, is her voice. It'd be one thing if she was just how she is physically. But she literally sounds like a child also. May she find true inner peace. Many folks go through tough things. I wish her nothing but profoundly, prolific success.
She is basically the perfect child actor though, so there is stuff that basically only she could do.

That's incredible. She is incredible. Smart, beautiful and fantastic. She gives me actress vibes... like she would do well in film, probably. As if she's used to having eyes on her.
Also, I've met and worked with several women very similar and they showed everyone just how capable they are despite so much negativity. Keep it up.
I have a dear friend to me that lives near that has the same condition, she's 17 and looks like a 8 year old. I feel badly for her, but also respect her so much for going through it and staying strong. I also have respect for Miss Shauna for going through this too because it's certainly not easy.
You feel bad for them? Wow. Your some friend. What a terrible thing to say. Do you often start conversations with your friend like that?
her mom is too hot mannn
No need to “feel bad” just understand and be humbled and grateful for the life you have. Strength comes from powering on and accepting life. Everyone has a struggle and everyone can gain strength. Life may sometimes knock us down but it’s us getting back up what matters. We can live or we can “feel bad”. I think we all want to choose to live.

Why do her parents seem embarrassed by her?? Shes such a joy and a really amazing person.
I don't see that at all.
They don't seem like being embarrassed by her. The situations people causing them, both to her and her parents are emberrassing.
They feel guilty more than embarrassed because they feel like it's thier fault
People have strange interpretations of the same thing.
I saw 0 embarrassment.
I saw one guilty biological parent and a step-parent.
At first glance people see a ten year old wearing makeup heels sitting at the bar and they look right to the parent and judge the parents based on what they are seeing so that is a burden for sure
I thought for sure comments would be turned off. I'm glad she has her family to support and love her.
She's taking it better than her parents for sure, which is amazing. Still, I can't imagine being stuck with those kinds of limitations, and your own parents perceiving you as a child. In a way, I get it. Psychologically, her appearance causes major cognitive dissonance. I do hope she's able to attain her independence though. But I'd be worried about what happens as she ages. Will her internal organs eventually grow and get too big for her body, or are there other concerns?
The organs don’t grow anymore. At 22, she’s done growing
Your internal organs grow due to hormones from your pituitary gland so I doubt they'll be much growing
She stopped growing! She isn’t going to grow anymore!
The pituitary gland affects growth of the whole body so no. Actually because she’s so small she’ll probably live longer than the average person. The oldest people in the world tend to be on the small side while large people don’t live as long
@@allsmilesguy Oh that's really interesting. Is that why women usually live longer than men?
