Been using Asus laptops for the most part and I just can't see myself using another brand for now. Just bought the Vivobook S533, what's weird to me is how there isnt too many reviews out there.
Hi Devon. Thanks, this is excellent as a review. Well done. I am sensitive to flex: hate it. But l do like the travel in the keyboard. What is the alternative 17 inch laptop to this one in this price bracket?
@@DevonConnelly I got the laptop. I'd like to say that the flex on the keyboard doesn't occur in normal use like other budget laptops. I would say the build quality isn't terrible unless your are trying to flex it.
@@pinktacotuesday4573 it works great for capturing Gameplay! I use an Elgato HD60s. Unfortunately with ALL Elgato cards they have a usb problem that you'll have to reset every so often in the device manager files.
I just received my ASUS Vivobook 15 Ryzen 5/Vega 8 (2020 model) and it is an absolute BEAST for it’s price, nice and light (perfect for my travelling needs), and the bezels is what does it for me! So thin! I can play most games smoothly too!
Overall a good review and I know you can't review everything, but would have liked to seen info on camera / internal mike response, since Zoom and RUclips production is so common these days. : )
I just got this and I really love it. My keyboard has the back light so I’m really confused as to why these reviews state that. I can actually brighten my keypad or turn it off. My screen is so bright and clear I really don’t need the keypad light. The model I got was this, asus vivobook 17.3" i5 8gb/128gb + 1tb laptop, intel core i5-1035g1 processor, 8gb ddr4 ram, 128gb ssd + 1tb hard drive, fingerprint reader, windows 10 home, s712ja-wh54
Hi.. sorry to bother you but the laptop I'm deciding to buy is exactly the same you're describing.. could you please tell me how it's going so far? I'd really appreciate it
Lot of flex? Deal breaker. My current that needs replacing was a plastic build Acer which was also a good value back in 2017. Performance/specs still holds up today, but need to replace because the body is already falling apart. Hinge is broken and body flex causes the mouse to move or click when used on lap. If you can afford I would recommend a laptop that has a solid build... Specs maybe good but if the body can't hold up, you will be replacing it sooner than you would like regardless.
same here, I am interested im video editing and programs like photoshop and illustrator since I will need this for school. Can this laptop run it smoothly?
@@madara3278 Which better ones are you referring to? I would use mine mainly for school stuff too but if there's a better option for the same price I'd obviously take that
Does the laptop came with these specs or you got these installed? Because, I have heard 2 ram without being of same capacity do not work in laptops. System will consider this 12 as 8. Please clarify?
I suspect that you'd want to get it with a 1 TB SSD and the biggest HDD you can manage. Plenty of them come with both installed, so I also suspect that either the one reviewed here is a fluke, or the missing hardware can be obtained and installed later. I just don't see any way they'd have a different motherboard in those with the HDD.
2020? The 4500U and 4700U Vivobook models will likely be available shortly. In fact, if you search for them on RUclips, you will find that they are already available in Asia, Thailand specifically.

Im planning on getting this one. I do digital art ,would you mind telling me if it can handle editing softwares such as photoshop or if how long the battery actually lasts because i seem to be hearing a variation ? Thanks anything helps
Hi Devon, I like your videos, may I ask do you recommend this laptop or Huawei matebook D14 u have already reviewed year ago? and which is better, glossy or matte screen for regular office work and watching movies?
I’d personally go with the matebook as it’s more portable and the build is much better. Matte displays are the way to go IMO. Price wise the vivobook Is an excellent value as I got the model I reviewed on sale for $499. If you need a larger screen the VivoBook is the better option too. They’re both great laptops , especially for the price. Thank you.
Huawei has a 14" screen, only a Ryzen 5 instead of 7, 256g SSD instead of 512, 8gigs RAM instead of 12... so it's not even in the same class as this 17" system. I'll go with the 17" + power. Sure, it's not a "gamer" laptop, but it doesn't cost $1200 either. Right now on Amazon this is listed as the #1 laptop recommendation. (I missed the Best Buy sale that would have saved me $70. Sigh).
