He really knows a lot about business stuff and he is even good at it. I never expect hin to open up a vtuber agency but really he exceeds my expectations everytime
that's why most vtuber usually are already being a well known streamer, or if you dont have former streaming career then either real singer or popular seiyuu
Now this is the real juicy advice. I truly understand it now. Auditions that are spicy, that back up one's written skills and showcase multiple talents whilst also being off the wall and fun instead of following the regular format is what leads to success... I've learnt a lot from this and now I understand how it is all about impact, personality and skillset! Thank you this was the BEST
One thing I always wonder about vtuber audtions I know like holo lives they look for people with idol talents and such. Is there a reason most singers have a very pop stylization to their singing voices? Like I'll be honest I have thought about even attempting to try just to try cause worst they can say is no thanks. Though I lack a pop style voice and it is very much more operatic and vibrato based sound like Josh Groban or Andrea Bocelli. Would a vocal quality / tone of that nature not be a selling point due to idols being more pop based?
It depends. On the Holostars side of things, there's a mix of high voices but the outstandingly lowest voice goes to Oga. I think to date he only has one original single he released called "Silent Night Requiem", where most of the times he's doing harmony with others (Holo ID or Stars) for covers. There are two rare cases being Choco and Noel, whom the company and themselves, recognize as tone-deaf. As such, if you listen to their covers or originals, their songs are made specifically for their range without going too high that they start squealing out of tone. Hal's advice thus holds weight because "a good voice" isn't the end all, be all of vtubing. And for the record, the two ladies I just mentioned? They are Hololive's two most recognized ASMR meisters. There's a lot you can do with "a good voice" - it's just where it is applied to.
I think it’s to do with what’s popularized in Japan. Mainstream J-POP, anison, as well as Vocaloid music are what’s generally popular amongst the people who watch Vtubers. Don’t forget that the people who like Vtubers, and Vtubers themselves, are generally anime fans too, so this will also be reflected in how they sing. Karaoke is a big pastime in Japan as well, and upbeat, easy to sing songs (a lot of jpop and Japanese idol music) generally are the most popular choices. Final reason might be because of the fact that most Vtubers aren’t professionally trained singers. This is a very simplified and generalized explanation, but I hope it helps answer your question. Just because there’s no major vtuber who sings in a more operatic and professional trained manner does not mean it wouldn’t work - there’s just been no precedent yet. I think it’d be a great selling point and would differentiate you from the crowd, it’s just how you sell yourself. Enna from NIJISANJI EN or Chima from NIJISANJI JP are examples of this - they mostly do pop covers and karaoke streams but it sounds like they’ve trained despite what they claim and are skilled enough to pull off more complex genres such as Jazz or Classical. Example - ruclips.net/video/5z39--ZYaes/видео.html (Chima) also ruclips.net/video/1IvwaP2dTSA/видео.html (Reimu) also ruclips.net/video/jE6_m7mXy1M/видео.html (Hololive Tokino Sora)
I haven't sang in some time since around my freshman year in college. a 1 credit hour class became a 40+ hour work week for sectional, group sectional, solo practice etc... etc.. Even with being in show choirs, Varsity choirs, and Honor choirs at the state, regional and national levels I still for the life of me never learned to read sheet music. Had to listen to my part being played and memorize it. The fact that the whole thing I loved to do suddenly became like a job really killed singing to me [ that and the grades of all of my other classes my freshman year of college so that wasn't a good thing.]. so from 2009-2010 is the last time I really sang anything so I wouldn't say I'm professionally trained by any means I just was in choir most of my life as after a choir instructor hears a boy with a strong tenor 1 they practically kidnap you to keep you around XD But yeah when I did sing most of in instructors compared my tone of voice and vibrato to Bocelli. I sang his Ave Marai for a Nationa honor choir solo competition and even got an award for it. Didi the same song when we went to Disney for choirs and solo/ duo comps and took a few awards from there to my Sr year of high school. But yes @karakuri ch you helped to answer my question rather thoroughly. If I wasn't so drugged up on medications from my CRPS meds I might actually have some energy to attempt a tryout audition but in my current state I am so unmotivated and dead x.x Like The amount of energy it takes to play some games is just exhausting at this point which is sad in its own right. I personally don't see how Mounsey manages it with all her medical issues to be so peppy and full of laughter. Ketamine is a hell of a drug x.x
Please audition, next time if not this round or just when you feel you’re ready. (Maybe start your audition video with your singing to grab attention). You have a skill that stands out so I’m sure your chances of passing at least the first round of auditions are good if you play your cards right.
Know this was 2 years ago but if anyone sees this Is the first vtuber part of an agency? I fr am thinking the model looks so much like VirtuaReal, Nijisanji's graduated member Roi from the Chinese branch from the hair style, hair color, royal clothing, eye color and they both know and speak japanese fluently. Im genuinely absurdly confused on this similar model thing😅💀 expecially since I checked and the previous model looked completely different in concept and theres too many similarities Like Roi debuted with his signiture model style dec 2019 and stuck by it with 2 different outfits, 1 for streams, 1 for dancing and music specifically with Aza Although the first vtuber debuted 6 years ago, it was only 3 years ago that they got this model, around 2 years after Roi with a similar hairstyle and hair art, and same royal outfit feeling. Out of all design style, royal. If any fan of his has clips of him talking about his interest in royal styles pls do link and tag me😊
So you're telling me the majority don't submit any Audition Video?! I'm lost! Seems like thier mentioning about videos and voice recording and also about the 'unlisted video' (which is literally the Audition video) Are we supposed to send them various other links and not only 'One' audito video??
My guess is that he doesn't mean the audition video itself, but more like when people with 0 streaming or content creation experience apply. These people don't usually have any other videos or examples that they can provide besides the audition video (which itself is supposed to be a demonstration of an actual stream). So, to back up whatever the applicant writes in the application form (self PR, skills, strengths), he would have liked to see people be more proactive about supplementing it with additional materials such as sound recordings that can provide backing to the claim.
@@karakurich7029 omg thank you for clearing that up! I now understand that this applies to those who don't have contents or any solid evidence to back up their statements.
Wait,so a lot of people just write a lot of things without send their gameplay video or at least their voice? If i was Hal i just skip, don't really need to read that lol

Oh
this is such an educational videos, and its also applies for any job that needs portofolio to enter, thank you for clipping this :'
Imagine having the stones to write “I have no examples but I’m motivated.” Then motivate yourself into having some examples cuz
Its like saying "trust me bro" as your source
"Extra brownie points", and quips like those are a sign the translations are more than straight Japanese -> English.
Kudos man
This is good advice not only Vtuber but can use it at another career
Neo-Porte really started with a bang!
nice translation!!! thanks for the clip~
Man, reid has come a long way

I would welcome and watch a talent that had a voice like Bocelli. It would make you stand out at the least!
