Pika-Pika™ - Nakamoto Forestry

Pika-Pika™ is our lightest yakisugi "shou sugi ban" surface, showcasing the beautiful natural tones of sugi in contrast with the charred grain pattern. After heat-treatment, the wood is brushed twice to completely remove the soot from the softer spring growth rings and leave the late wood as burnt ridges. The three-dimensional textured surface can be stained a variety of colors, all while retaining the warm tones of yakisugi.
