This just popped up in my feed - I had to watch when I saw “Gunne Sax.” I almost forgot about them! I’m 56 and I think we all had at least one Gunne Sax dress for Homecoming or Prom. How funny they’re appealing to young girls now😊
I am so glad Gunne Sax dresses are still being enjoyed by young women around the world. I am 63 years old. When I was a teenager in the 70s, I had several of those dresses. My favorite was natural-colored cotton with beautiful blue velvet and lots of lace. The sleeves had a zipper from wrist to elbow, and there was a lace up front on the bodice. The beautiful epitome of boho 70s.
Weird. But thank you. By the time i was old enough to be aware of Gunne Sax, it was the late 1980s. By then, Gunne Sax were all the rage for prom dresses in L.A. and were totally too expensive. By then, girls like me cried real tears bc we couldn't afford Gunne Sax for prom. And yet these dresses, that you showcase, are not at all what I remember! I think this video shows dresses before - well before! - the time I was in high school. We never saw dresses like these! Btw, these are beautiful dresses!
I have a Gunne Sax Dress. I probably got it in 1980. I wore it for High school graduation and when I got married in 1983. It has been stored all this years and is in perfect condition. I hope my Granddaughter will wear it one day.
Told my mom that i liked the vintage dresses and showed her a bunch of different dresses i thought were really pretty and then after asked if it was weird and she said yes so rn I'm trying not to cry. Hahaha
That was one of my favorite outlets in San Francisco… I took my daughters there to get their prom dresses and than go down stair to where their material, laces accessories were at and bought from there to especially the laces…
OMG I loved Gunne Sax. I remember going to an outlet in San Francisco. Never was able to fit one of their dresses though. They were all so beautiful. Didn't they also used to do prom dresses, at least that is my recollection. Your video popped up in my feed. Great memories.
I'm way late for the party! I have a Gunne Sax dress that I wore to my HS Prom, 1978. I'm getting ready to list it on Ebay & I can't find one exactly like it. Knowing what to list it isn't easy to do. I also have a long, calico print skirt that I wore in 1977. Both are size 9, although the label is missing from the skirt. Hard to believe I was once that size! lol I enjoyed your video SO very much! Hope you are well & still enjoying vintage treasures.
Oh, so happy to find this video. I have the happiest memories of my Gunne Sax dresses from the 1970’s- 1980’s. Thank you for bringing back such happy memories ❤
I was married in 1975, I made my dress and it was definitely Gunne Sax inspired (like the Cameo Dress). My bridesmaids wore their own choice of Gunne Sax style.
Oh what a treat,, this just popped up in my feed,,, and yes I subscribed. Love the Gunne Sax dresses,, i m a lover of everything vintage and I cant say I have one of these dresses, but its on my wish list to find one or two or three. I am an older lady, tall and thin ,, this style of dress is my favorite. Fun and easy to wear! I also find channels such as yours very refreshing to see younger girls dressing in these beautiful vintage dresses. All the girls in this video look beautiful
OMG!!!! I just found you!! My wedding dress was Jessica ( 2008) all my high school dance dresses were Jessica McC and all my 13 year old girl to high school sundresses, skirts etc was Gunne Sax
Thank you! We will definitely do another Gunne Sax Party next year & be sure to include an online component so everyone can join from around the world :)
I loved this event so, so much, and the dresses I bought from you are gorgeous. I just got two of them back from my tailor and can't wait to get good pictures of them (in which I will definitely tag you
My mom had two Gunne Sax dresses that she held onto and then passed down to me. One of them (a denim one) is my all time favorite in part because it was used onstage when I was "Belle" in a talent show one year. When "Enchanted" came out the blue dress she used in the park musical scene was a dead ringer for it pattern-wise. Wish I still fit in it. Don't even know if that made it to my home for me to TRY to pass down to my daughter someday. The dress at 12:25 was very similar, except it wasn't checked like that.
I owned 4 Gunne Sax, in the late 70's. I would put one in the law away and work so hard to get it out. My prom dress was a Gunne Sax. The most beautiful dresses ever made. I wish I still had them.
Thank you so much for your hard work in hosting such a wonderful event! Everyone is so adorable!
Thank you so much

So many memories. I feel so old though. I must have been so beautiful in my Gunne Sax... Sure didn't know it.
You're gorgeous but I know how you feel. Just think if we could go back & know what we now know?
Told my mom that i liked the vintage dresses and showed her a bunch of different dresses i thought were really pretty and then after asked if it was weird and she said yes so rn I'm trying not to cry. Hahaha
Aw don't cry! If you like them that's all that matters. It's not weird at all :)

And in plus sizes.
The dress at 8:30, does that have a style number?
