The military and government establishments that involve military ceremonies bring a lot of money into the country from tourism.
Many tourists come to tour various parts of UK but very often London attractions are a must visit for a day or two.
Like most countries the tourist industry is a major industry from both home and foreign tourists.

I guess I don't understand why the public and tourists are allowed where they are in the first place, to even get in the way of the guards. Like it needs, not the guards, not the police but a further subset of a security patrol , part of the tourism staff... that would help keep the public in their place... behind some lines either actual or painted. Possibly either charge a fee for tourists or sadly discontinue such free access... maybe restrict it to go through eoth a guide. Or keep it how it is and find some ppl that just dont get it. Surely some of the guards are perfectly fine moving the public out of the way... get a little rise out of making way for the guard... mist ppl move quickly ajd respectfully, when surprised from behind... this type of response isn't the norm... thankfully...

The problem is that many tourists or let's say people in general because even the locals are often quite blinded about this - they all often forget that they are stepping into a small world of tradition and culture and not into a theme park and this leads to more and more problems. Not just locally but all over the world. People often lack respect and unfortunately also cultural understanding, as it is often no longer taught. At least that's what I often see in the museum where I work and it's annoying. It annoys everyone who are involved in such situations.

Not gonna repeat my comment again re: why the cuirass was removed again other than to say that the foot guards generally don’t wear them. They’d be pretty heavy for a 2 hour duty on foot.

having seen so many video's from the change of horses i have noticed there often is a huge confusion about the second white line.
Why don't they paint the second white line red or yellow instead of white ?
Having 2 different colours for the lines will avoid a lot of confusion and it also makes it easier for police and soldiers to guide the tourists to the restricted position.

Good day John. Your video showed up early today which is fine because it will be raining here all day. Temperature went from 23C a few days ago to snow later. I think I may be watching your videos too much! I am starting to pick up British vocabulary seldom used here in Canada. Chocker, cheeky, etc. If I use in public, I will be getting some weird looks! But, I love your videos and am learning alot about British history. I am kind of a history nerd. Enjoy your day! Cheers! 😎 🇨🇦

I live in Oklahoma and was given a “tour” of the Air Force base. I was looking a an AWAC plane and didn’t think about it, but touched the chain that was blocking off the plane. Immediately I found that I had an M-16 rifle pointed at me and a soldier instructing me to “Get off the chain”. I did not think it was the least bit funny and turned loose of that chain held up both hands where he could see them and backed up 2 paces. Maybe they should try that with the stupid Karen’s a couple of times!

What I do know is these "guards" are some of the most highly trained soldiers in the world with outstanding military careers to even be considered for that position. They deserve respect no matter what country your from. I can't imagine going to any foreign country and disrespecting its soldiers.
