- "Down to the Alvord Desert" tells the story of our overland adventure travel in the Steens Mountains and Avlord desert. In episode 2 of the Steens Adventure series I found solitude, wild mustangs and a bit of my crazy I'd forgotten.
Traveling in our FJ Cruiser we found offroad trails to explore and had experiences that turned simple desert travel into adventure travel. And the hot springs... after a week of adventure travel seeing wild horses, camping and exploring, the Alvord Hot Springs made me feel like a million bucks again.

Beautiful! thanks for sharing. I am in the middle of an overland trip in Central America and loving it, but watching content like this makes me realize how little of the USA I've experienced. Kind of looking forward to getting back and doing some excursions closer to home.
Thanks... and Save Travels down south.
Thanks. We always try to play it safe and haven't had any issues yet... well no safety issues.
The Traveling Together Journal hopefully you guys will get that bushing problem worked out.
Thanks. Yeah, the fix I come up with in our most recent video has held and solved the problem : )
I’ve camped the Alvord in September. It’s a religious experience.
That is the best way to describe it!
I was out there a couple of years ago in my FJ. I wanted to get it over 100, but I'm not too proud to admit that I got too scared. Literally got to like 95. Ugh
haha... an FJ is like a billboard in a wind tunnel... that is a lot of turbulence at 95 🙂
Awesome
U should come to Canada
We have a lot of places to explore .!
I would love to explore more up north. The last time I explored Canada was 10 years ago up the ALCAN to Alaska then over to Inuvik and back down. I hope to see more when I get the chance.
