    Hey J! Great walkthrough of the Recon! One thing we wanted to mention is there are magnets at the bottom of the pouch so when you open and invert the "flap" to the bottom, there is a magnet to hold it down. That's why there isn't MOLLE on the bottom. Keep up the great videos!

      Interesting. It wasn’t obvious and I personally would prefer the way the Badlands X2 has it…with the magnet midway down.
      I appreciate the clarification. It’s a solid harness and I imagine that folks who have the complete system really like it.

      I love the magnets on the bottom of the Recon because it really pulls the lid out of the way and keeps it streamline for shooting. Last thing I want to do is have my chest harness get in the way on a shot or when drawing my bow.

      Also worth mentioning is that it's not USA made.

    These new cases from badlands are refined and on point in my opinion. I just got the badlands EZ model that has the bungee enclosure for archery hunting. I am loving it so far, has all the features I was looking for and the quality is great.

      I got the EZ for last archery season and absolutely love it. I almost got the X2 but after looking at them side by side I decided the EZ is a more secure closure for if I have to run or crawl. I also feel it’s easier to not have to mess with magnets to keep it open, the bungee does it without a fuss.

    You are correct ... need to get hands on to make a real decision. Unfortunately, for most of us it is not possible to get hands on every model out there. And that's what makes your reviews so good. Looking online at the various different models, designs, harnesses and closure systems ... I thought that Badlands and Marsupial were leading the pack with the front open magnet designs. That you have selected Badlands as your new No. 1 says a lot. Thanks.

    I know I’m very late to the party here, but I’m just now shopping for a Bino harnesses to take with me on a western hunt this fall. I picked up the Badlands x2 at Cabela’s about a week ago and today I just ordered the Eberlestock Recon. When it comes in I’ll do a side by side comparison to see which one I’ll keep. But the biggest selling point for me to order the Recon is the fact that the chest strap tightens by pulling it forward; a big plus in my opinion over those that tighten in rearward (awkward) motion. You didn’t mention that in your review; perhaps the Recon a year ago didn’t tighten to the front and this change was made.

    Hands down the best bino harness revie out there. I picked up the Badlands x2 after watching this last year. I love the harness! Super comfortable and versitiel. Not to mention it has a no questions asked lifetime warranty.. Badlands to me is like the ESEE of hunting gear. I haven't been disappointed yet.

    I commented on the part 1 portion of your video and I thought my comment was a little snobby, I just wanted to apologize if I gave offense. Your taking the time out of your day to give good honest reviews. I would be interested to see your review of a Muley Freak Game Changer Combo if you get a chance.

      No worries at all. It’s all good. No offense taken.
      Yes, the Muley Freak harness is one that is intriguing. Seems really well thought out. I hope to look at other harnesses next year…and continue to evolve and tighten up my reviews.
      Best of luck this season!

    I have two AGC packs, one is the Ravus.
    I like the pack but after 2 years Ive had it with the lid that doesnt stay closed. The magnet isnt strong enough to keep it closed while hiking and the issue is worse when you place your phone in the top elastic pocket (which I really like btw).
    Im going to try either the FHF or the Mystery Ranch pack.

    I am leaning towards the FHF FOB and the Badlands X2. Have you ran them with the attachments on them. I lean towards the Badlands but heard the attachments don't sit will on them. What are your thoughts between the two options.

    • @HuntDetail
      @HuntDetail  Год назад +1

      As you saw in the vid, my choice is the Badlands X2 based on the harness layout, etc. That said, I have not run any of the harnesses with attachments so I don’t have insight on how they sit on the harness. I would give the X2 a try personally.

    Great reviews here. I’ve always had some sort of non magnet harness. Currently using a AGC harness I’ve had for several years. Do the magnets actually mess with electronics? I’ve heard people say it’s possible but never heard a actual account.

    • @HuntDetail

      I had an issue once…and maybe once is enough for some folks. Hasn’t been a consistent issue for me.

    I am going to run KUIU and run a drop leg holster to carry my handgun. I have seen people attach the gun to the chest and it just looks like to much to me.

    I'm interested in your comments to as if there is any interference from the magnetic closures on the compasses of your ballistic meter, GPS, or iPhone. If so, that would favor standard elastic loop closures. Also would like to see your spreadsheet in Excel format for download.

    • @HuntDetail
      @HuntDetail  7 месяцев назад +1

      No, I have not found the magnetic closures to create any interference. But, the “Snap It” item I used for my harness has…so I had to move it away from my phone. Here is a link to the spreadsheet and other resources.

    If you do a pack comparison since you gave the Spika a look, they’re pack is honestly a pretty good pack for the price and a lot of accessories cross over from exo that fit it. Almost all of the k3 accessories.

    You looked at the JX3 bino harness? What do you think of it?

    • @HuntDetail
      @HuntDetail  7 месяцев назад

      I’ve not heard of it till you mentioned. I’m not sure…honestly. I don’t like how it opens…the flap down. It looks oversized. I don’t think it would fare well in a hands on examination.
