Rokslide Binocular Harness Head-to-Head Test: Which Harness Comes Out on Top?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 фев 2025
- Welcome to our binocular harness head-to-head test! We've gathered some of the top harnesses on the market, including the Sita MTN Harness, Marsupial, FHF Gear, Adak, Alaska Guide Creation Ravus, Badlands XR, Outdoor Vision, T&K Hunting, and Stone Glacier Skyline, to see which one performs the best in various tests. Our six tests include jogging, bending over, jumping, crawling, water resistance, and field tests. Let's get started!
Test 1: Jogging
We tested each harness while jogging to see which one stays in place and doesn't bounce around. The Sitka MTN Harness and FHF Gear Bino Harness were the top performers in this test, keeping our binoculars secure during our run.
Test 2: Bending Over
We wanted to see which harnesses would keep our binoculars in place while we bent over. The Sitka MTN Harness, FHF Gear Bino Harness, and Stone Glacier Skyline all performed exceptionally well in this category.
Test 3: Jumping
Jumping can cause your binoculars to bounce around, which can be a major distraction when moving quickly. The Sitka MTN Harness, FHF Gear Bino Harness, and Stone Glacier Skyline all excelled in this test, keeping our binoculars secure while we jumped.
Test 4: Crawling
When hunting in rugged terrain, crawling is often necessary. We tested each harness to see which one would keep our binoculars clean during this activity. The Stone Glacier Skyline, Alaska Guide Creations Ravus, T&K Hunting Bino Harness, Marsupial Gear Binocular Pack, Adak Bino Harness, and Outdoor Vision Bino Harness were all able to withstand the test, keeping our binoculars debris free during this test.
Test 5: Water Resistance
Hunting can often involve exposure to water, whether it be rain or crossing a river. We wanted to see which harnesses would keep our binoculars dry during these situations. The Alaska Guide Creations Ravus, Marsupial Gear Binocular Pack, and Badlands Bino XR Harness were all able to keep our binoculars dry during our water resistance test.
Test 6: Field Tests
In our final test, we took each harness out into the field to see how they performed during real-life hunting situations. Each harness was tested on multiple hunts throughout the season, and we found that each harness had its own pros and cons depending on your hunting style, body size, and the features you prefer a harness to have.
Conclusion:
After putting these nine harnesses through their paces in our six tests, it's clear that each harness has its own strengths and weaknesses. However, for me, my hunting style, and the features I prefer my harness to have, The Sitka MTN Harness, Marsupial, and FHF gear rose to the top. These three harnesses performed exceptionally well in multiple tests and are made with high-quality materials that will stand up to heavy use in the field. Ultimately, the best harness for you will depend on your individual needs and preferences, but any of the harnesses we tested would make a great addition to your hunting gear.
Great video, straight to the point. Fun fact: the plural of "debris" is still just "debris" with a silent S. Deh-bree
🤦ha ha I know I don't know why I pronounced it like that.
@@adventureoffscript regardless, very informative and gave me insight into what I do and don't want in a bino harness. Thanks
That is awesome! My goal is to put gear through the ringer so that others can make an informed purchase! @@Andres.Guzman
I ran to the comments hoping for this in particular! Thank you! Haha.
Best review on RUclips, by far. I can only wish the other reviews even put 1/10th of the effort in that you did to make this review to simulate or achieve real-world conditions. Very much appreciate this and all of your work that went into it.
No problem and I'm glad that you enjoyed it and found it helpful!
@@adventureoffscript Got myself and my son the Sitka Mountain bino harness mainly as a result of this video. Thanks again!
@@PonderosaSoundStudio thats awesome! I have found that due to the cross harness system and the fact that there isn't any padding the Sitka MTN Harness fits my son better than most harnesses.
Well said mate...by far.
This video deserves so many more likes for how many people watched
Man, I gotta say I enjoy your comparisons/reviews more than any other.
Very thorough, detailed, and easy to understand.
Great work brother!
we appreciate the feedback and will let Zach know. Thanks for the watch
Absolutely perfect…. No bias or crazy opinions to slander or sway. Just plain facts to let us make a good judgment call to make a purchase! 👍🏼😎
🙏
I am glad that you enjoyed it and found it helpful! Thanks for the awesome comment!
Thank you! You knocked it out of the park with this review! Thanks so much for all the effort you put into being so thorough.
Amazing review. Finally an objective video with real tests… Bravo and thank you for your video!😊👍🏻
I am glad you found it beneficial!
I second that
Wow.... I am glad I came across this video... I've been looking for a Bino Harness for this falls hunting season. I was hoping to see the Vortex Glasspak Pro Binocular Harness or Eberle Stock Recon Modular Bino Pack.. Still conflicted. This was a great review anyway. I'm going to take a serious looks at Sitka. Thanks for gettin' dirty Brother!
Amazing review. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this test. As hunters, we are lucky to have so many great options. The FHF looks like it would be extremely low profile and handy.
Great job!
I appreciate the kind words! Yes it did take some time but I think it was ultimately beneficial for viewers!
I used the sitka mtn harness last year. Broke almost every buckle and bungy on it by the end of the year.
Fuck don’t tell me that i just got one on sale
@@West_sideKnecht4 it's a great harness and I've zero issues. You did well on that sale.
Well done! Thank you for taking the time to thoroughly and painstakingly put this equipment to the test.
Absolutely! I am glad you enjoyed it!
I just ordered the Ravus kit from Alaska Guide Creations in Kryptek Obskura. I just ordered the kit because it contained options that i could see being useful. I am very happy with my purchase after watching this. Mahalo for making this video and all of your other review videos, it really helps to make decisions that consumers can be happy with. Mahalo again, aloha!
You are welcome and let us know what you think of your Bino harness once you get some time on it. And we love Kryptek Obskura!
I'm glad you found it helpful!
Thanks brother for a brilliant review, on the back of this I’ve ordered a full Marsupial rig with pouches and handwarmer muff for these cold English winters. Lots of choice of add-on’s and color configurations
Very nice practical review. 👍🏻 A summary page would have been nice or a in vid indexing
Thank you! That is a great idea!
Well done review. I appreciate the effort you put forth to test all of these.
I appreciate that you recognize the effort that it took so thank you for that!
Must have been fun to test all those bino rigs. Nicely done.
@@Clambelly 🙏
This was without question the best review I've seen about bino harnesses. Makes me want to make my own lol.
Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you found it beneficial!
I have the Alaska guide creations and I’m very happy with it, I’ve used it Bow hunting for Elk in the Pacific Northwest where there is no shortage of thick brush, I like the way it’s built and I would definitely recommend it. 😁👍💪🇺🇸
Fantastic review, I really appreciate all the work that you put into this.
I am glad you found it helpful!
Very nice job!
Thank you!
I just purchased a Eberlestock Recon, hopefully it stacks up!
Fantastic review, really impressed. Thank you!
Your welcome! I am glad you enjoyed it and found it beneficial!
Outstanding review! Very informative, clear, professional. You got me dialed in now!👍🏻🇺🇲
I am glad you found it beneficial!
Zach - Absolutely great review. Thanks! Would you be able to do a short update with a Kuiu and the new Eberlestock Recon?
I can do my best but no promises!
Huge respect for you brother.
I appreciate that thank you!
An actual proper review of how they will be used. Well done! Still prefer my Hawke though.
Thank you I appreciate that.
Very very very useful informations that exactly what we needed to choose one
Thank you
I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you found it beneficial!
The shower scenes are hilarious
We worked hard to keep them rated G 😂
Ha ha I am glad you enjoyed that! I was gong to do it naked, but I figured RUclips and the audience wouldn't enjoy it. On a serious note, I wasn't sure how else to test them, especially considering I conducted the water test during January in Wyoming!
Amazing job on the review, subscribed
Thank you very much, it took me quite a bit of time to do it so I am glad you found it valuable!
Excellent
Thank you!
Great review! Too bad Kuiu didn't send you one to compare
Agreed I would have loved to have tested it too.
Which of these companies are US made? I visited a few of the brands sites and they are proud of their efforts to remain manufactured here, and the extraordinary costs associated, and I think they deserve the recognition. Country of origin is as important a feature as being waterproof for some. I didn't know any of these other than the Marsupial were US made until I started seeing the flag in some of the clips.
Off the top of my head, I believe FHF Gear, Marsupial, T&K, Alaska Guide Creations, Stone Glacier, and Outdoor Vision are made in the USA. I will update this reply if I learn differently.
Awesome review!! Do you have any input on how the Kifaru rig compares to the ones in the review? I think 9 months ago no one had received one yet.
Thanks
I have not personally used one but I have been with people that had them. The harness itself creates an "X" in the back like the Sitka does, other than that, It seems to open more like a Marsupial. I hope that helps.
Thank you! you did a great job......
@@michaelbattin thanks for stopping by. 🙏
Hand down you should review all gears like this
I appreciate it and would really like to do more just like this in the future!
I appreciate you appreciating things
Good reviews and good testing !
Thank you I am glad you enjoyed the review, quite a lot of effort went into it!
Solid review!
Thank you, I appreciate it! It was a lot of work!
Great job, Zach!
Thanks Justin I appreciate it.
Why no Muley Freak? I feel like it would have done very well in this test. I've personally used the AGC, Badlands, FHF, Kuiu Pro, Marsupial, Muley Freak Traverse 1.0/ Traverse 2.0/Game Changer. I definitely feel like the Game Changer is the best harness I’ve tried.
I'm glad you found it beneficial, I haven't tried the new one from Muley Freak.
Вот это я понимаю обзор 👍👍👍 лучший!!! Однозначно
I went with Alaska Guide Creations for 2 reasons... 1. Made in USA... 2. Quality product.=== The tethers look nice, but I don't need them, nor did I ever drop them, so I removed them, and the lid COMPLETE CLOSES SECURE.
Excellent stuff 👌
Thank you, I am glad you found it beneficial!
Looks like fit could be a factor but from those first few tests regarding mobility, the order seems to be Sitka, then FHF, then Stone Glacier, then Adak
Any two of the first three tests could have been excluded since they're all different measurements of exactly the same attribute. I really appreciated the very practical and detailed analysis not only of the features, but how well those features actually functioned. Props, also, for saying that you chose the harnesses best suited TO YOU, and why. Too many reviewers lose sight of the fact that different people want different things. Not everyone hunts the same way. Drop a couple of those early fit tests (jog, bounce, bend), and you'll be golden with this video.
Really great clip
Thanks
Does it get any better with reviews...wish you took the Twin Needle V2
Thank you very much! and I have never heard of that, I will have to check it out!
Awesome review!! Thank you
No eberlestock?
Have you tried the JX3 bino harness? Would like to see how it stands up to some that you tested today.
Great review!
I'm glad you found it beneficial!
I’m between an AGC (have the vortex version), Marsupial, and T&K.
Probably leaning towards T&K and Marsupial.
Thanks for the head to head review for all of those systems. That was pretty thorough. I'm curious how well some of these modular bino harness systems can mix and match accessories like rangefinder pouches or bear spray holsters from other brands.
If the attachments are molle, they should work.
That's supposed to be true. But many companies call their attachment mechanisms "MOLLE" or "PALS", but they're not cross compatible because they use different sized webbing and/or spacing between webbing.
@@danlane2547 He didn't mention it, but the Sitka Mountain Harness accessory pockets can be removed and have Molle webbing behind them. I liked the features of the Mountain Harness, but it didn't fit me well (personal preference) and now I'm holding out for the new FHF FOB harness.
Some of the accessories could be mixed and matched especially the ones that hook to the molly webbing spots by connecting with a velcro strap.
@@svolkmer Yes that is correct the pockets can be removed. I have even removed the pocket and put a peak design camera clip on it!
Which one is quietest???
Thanks for your video and information, it was very thorough and helpful. Just a heads up here : the word debris is pronouced without sounding the s on the end. The word debris is good for both single and plural.Hope you dont take offence at my offering
I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate that. I don't know why that day I decided to not leave the "s" silent 🤦
Great thanks
Curious how the new generation of The FHF Gear harness would have compared, it looks pretty sweet.
Thats a great question. Each company chose which harness they wanted to send, so I used what they sent!
I’m stoked for that new one from FHF!!
Debreeze? Wtf. Nice comparison, thanks
🤦I know right. I don't know why I pronounced it that way.
T&K quality is unmatched
It was a pretty great harness!
does a Bino case with concealed handgun combo exist?
Wish you would have included the kuiu
we wish they would've sent us one. They are always invited. Often it's just the busyness of their operation that prevents them from getting involved.
The s is silent in the word debris
🤣good call
I am hearing people add the s on this word more all the time and it drives me crazy.
quality!
Why no Kuiu
Marsupial #1
It did well!
no Kuiu?
T&K, obviously.
Although I will say I'm pleasantly surprised by Sitka's snug factor.
It did well and for being a lesser known harness, I really enjoyed using it!
Kuiu? By far better and functional
I reached out to KUIU and they never responded. When they didn't respond, I reached out to a friend for a loaner for the test, but the one he sent was too big for the binoculars that I used in the test.
You didn’t put Kuiu in there they are the best
You clearly didn't read any of the other comments. I reached out to KUIU and they never responded. When they didn't respond, I reached out to a friend for a loaner for the test, but the one he sent was too big for the binoculars that I used in the test. Thanks for watching!
everyone buys marsupial for a reason. they are very good.
‘DEBRIS’ is pronounced, ‘DUH-bree’. The ‘S’ is silent. Only you and my grandpa say it like that 😂. I’m jp man great review
@@heavilymeditated108 we’re still working on our English over here. Lol. Thanks for the watch.
Ummmm… why are some harnesses loose for evaluation and others are tightened? … seems bias and skewed
Thanks for the comment. As I stated I took a deep breath with all of them and tightened them until it was snug. Feel free to gather all of the harnesses, block out several days for testing, then more time for editing, and find out for yourself Jeffrey!
Surprised adak didn't do better
The Adak fit well and I love how the range finder pouch attaches, but I had quite a few things fall out of the stretch pockets and found it more difficult to close than others tested.
No debreeze
ah ha ha sooooo I've been told... repeatedly, but on the flip side thanks for watching the review!
Don’t even have an Eberlstock recon.
Well shit, we should probably take the review down.
I did reach out to them they didn't respond. Thanks!
LOL I like my Kuiu
I reached out to KUIU and they never responded. When they didn't respond, I reached out to a friend for a loaner for the test, but the one he sent was too big for the binoculars that I used in the test.
Shocked @kuiu wasn't included in this test/review. I've used a few of those and found it to be superior. Likely a Sitka fanboy
HAHA! or maybe they didn't send one.
I reached out to KUIU and they never responded. When they didn't respond, I reached out to a friend for a loaner for the test, but the one he sent was too big for the binoculars that I used in the test.
DA-BREEZ
went the same path did go threw the same snow depth how come he did not move to snow that was not packed down and weads that were packed unfair test watch the vedio
I respect that thought the process. The snow was pretty slim picking when I did the test, but I'll keep that in mind for the other one. Or maybe you could go crawl around and test all 9 harnesses and let me know what you find out!
With sitka winning its a shame you didn't include a Kuiu. To bad you didn't have any freinds to give you a freebie.
The Kuiu is a much better harness.
Probably because Kuiu was developed after the founder sold off Sitka to develop a better product. Lol
I wish KUIU would have been included too! Maybe next time!
Nice review, I have the Ravus also, hate the lid, wont stay closed.
I wish it had a bungee type system like most the other models they have.
Also, how tall are you?
Ty 🫡
Thanks for checking out the review! I am not tall 😂...5'6".
kuiu is another good one. but man sitka smoked them all. im shocked at how bad the others were, well i wasnt surprised with TK and badlands and the other dumb ones those are obviously going to suck.
ah ha ha well like I said I did my best to get them all to fit the same, but Sitka is a great harness.
