It is very interesting why certain people gave thumb down . I have quite strong imaginary skills , but here they failed me. It is a class by itself so gracefully , and unselfishly to share the hard won skill , so that less talented people could learn something that they possibly dreamed of being able to do. Here you have one of the most wonderfull piece of music , arranged by one of the most famous guitarist and skillfully shown for everybody interested to learn ,"how it's done" . Everything is in place. And yet some people don't like it. Do they like to be called names ? Are they kind of dull oafs? Trolling free lancers ? Goofs off the roofs during falling down ? Quaks of the ducks ? Are they even earthlings ?

Really want to learn this but my classical guitar neck makes it impossible for me to play the bass using thumb, and I have big hands.

you can play it without your thumb. You will just have to use some awkward chord shapes, but you will get used to that easily with practice. I think it sounds better on a nylon stringed guitar than on a crossover and using your four other fingers will probably also sound better if your thumb-pressing would otherwise not be strong and consistent.

I have small hands. And I can only and exclusively play fingerstyle on classical guitars. So it’s a matter of practice, I am sure you can make it if I could

Yeah, I don't have enough motivation nor faith to pull this off. I know I'm going to fail in every way possible, so I'm not even going to pick up my guitar for this one. Also, being absolutely horrible at guitar doesn't help, which is why I can't see myself doing this.

Do not be discouraged, of course, you can interpret this beautiful version of "I love her". The secret is to practice very, very slow and on time, of course dedicating practice every day. Play this video at low speed, it has everything you need, the tablature and even the movement of the hands. I did it, without knowing anything about theory. Cheer up!! =)
