I was trying to figure out why Diane showed her six of roughly the same ball gowns. SMH. There are hundreds of other styles and fabrics, but she chose some of the most unflattering dresses in satin-type fabrics (also can be unflattering) that I was stunned.
that drove me nuts, i KNOW kleinfeld's has a picture-perfect cinderella ballgown, with the bodice that comes down to a v in front just like all the disney princess gowns, and all the crown-styled bling and everything. maybe they're over $5k? but i really doubt it. the fact that the bride wasn't vibing with any of the dropped waist gowns should have been diane's hint to at least try a natural waist.
Sorry, not one dress looked lovely. Wrong shape, wrong style. What was wrong with the assistant? They have hundreds of dresses in the style she asked for. Very disappointing for the beautiful bride.
I am a former ballroom dancer. When this episode was filmed in 2009, true "ballgowns" (ballroom gowns) did not have a dropped-waist option (this is a more recent trend, and then only for competitive ballroom dancers with perfect shapes).
When Randy said I don't think you need another dress, a veil should have been put on the bride. But consultant greed stepped in. I hope the bride changed her mind and spent the $5000 on the honeymoon or anything else but a 2nd dress.
@@pattyk734 I am positive Randy would not have said that if the bride was wealthy. The husband's a policeman. Unless the bride is wealthy, going into debt for a dress is absurd. Randy was caring about the bride when he made that statement.
I agree and it is ok to get another dress but not in this store and for these prices. In our culture, we wear 3-4 dresses but they are nice and cheap not these rip off and ugly dresses.
@Annie497I will be wearing 3-4 but only one white wedding gown. The others will be my Vietnamese, Korean one(my boyfriend is Korean) and my cake cutting gown. But they are cheap and not expensive like any of these dresses.
Diane kept showing her ballgowns with dropped waists! Of COURSE they weren't working; she needs a dress with a NATURAL waist! I'm surprised Diane didn't pick up on that.
I cannot understand why they stay with the same style of dress when the bride clearly is not crazy about it. There are thousands of dresses and she has a decent budget. Get another assistant, because Diane cannot think wider than just these few dresses!!!!
Absolutely what I was going to say!!! We never heard the bride say she wanted sexy for the church dress, why all those drop wasted gowns?! A true bell gown is at the waist, isn’t that what she said she was looking for? 🤷🏻♀️
The show has promo deals with some of the designers and that’s why they tend to push specific designers who make those same styles we see over and over.
Agreed. I have seen brides on this show coming in saying 'ballgown,', but then finding that shape is unflattering on them. The skilled consultants recognize what these brides want is big, poofy, show-stopping, and sparkly (esp. this bride who specified she likes the sparkles). Those skilled consultants then switch to a big, poofy , show-stopping, sparkly a-line and suddenly the bride is happy because she is getting the look that she wants in a shape that works for her. Diane is hearing 'ballgown' without really listening to what this bride is really asking for. I think too Diane is hearing 'cha-ching' without really caring what the bride is really looking for. I hope this bride finds/found a new consultant and also her perfect dress.
That wasn't very nice of Randy to say Diane only wanted two dresses and two commissions. The bride was certain she wanted two dresses and made it clear immediately.
I think if Dianne wasn't so intent on selling a second dress, it might've worked if they put a detachable over-skirt on the reception dress to give it the ballgown silhouette the bride wanted.
@@jessicathompson236 same thoughts were in my mind that why consultant didn’t listen bride and she even didn’t give her choices. I think when she did I want two dresses our dear consultant lost her mind .. ( with sorry)
Randy, please use this as a teaching tool for the consultants as what NOT to do! Putting her in practically the exact same dress after it didn’t look good on her was a big mistake. Please teach the consultants how to know what dresses look good on which body type.
Dianne always is pushing the budget for the Bride. Just like the reception gown $2500 is the exact amount and it is going to cost more because of taxes and alterations. I don't think I've ever seen Dianne stay within a budget it's using a few hundred or more over before taxes and alterations.
I agree with you 💯%. My dress in 1989 was $300.00 and it was beautiful it doesn't make the marriage work my whole wedding was $2,000.00 and it didn't last more than 18 years
Ballgowns absolutely can have a drop waist, that said this is an old show, that was popular at the time, and also we don’t know behind the scenes of Bride wanted to wear a drop waist. It was super trendy back then in bridal. Idk why everyone seems to think have a drop waist disqualifies those dresses from being considered ballgowns but that’s not true.
I agree with Randy. She didn't need a second dress. But I would've picked a dress absolutely different from the reception dress. Same style? At least give her a different opinion that complemented her figure better. They kept saying that a bride has a vision, sees something on a hanger or in a magazine, but it isn't flattering once on. Opinions are great. Just try something different.
The reception dress plus a nice underskirt and a wrapped overskirt is what she needed for the style she wanted. The assistant was getting greedy. She didn't even really look for the type of dress that the bride actually wanted.
I don't feel good about this appointment at all. The consultant was stuck in a groove that wasn't working and couldn't seem to think beyond her commission. Bad job. Like everyone in the comments has already said, I kept waiting for them to bring out a real princess ball gown for her instead of continuing to stuff her into dresses that she didn't like. wtf? I don't think she should have bought anything. But I'm glad she liked her reception dress.
WAIST---the natural inward curved area of a body. "Waste" is the trash and garbage in the world!!! And nobody cares one bit what YOU "want to see," especially since this is from the 2009 season, and she's likely been living her life the way SHE wants, happily without your unwanted "advice."

Video sonunda mutluluk göz yaşlarını görememek kötü hissettiriyor, ikinci kıyafeti de aşık olarak almadı zaten. Gerçekten içinde güzel ve seksi görüneceği bir kıyafet yok muydu koca mağazada
The reception dress doesn’t really look like typical reception dresses that I’ve seen. They’re usually much, much sexier like a mermaid or even shorter. She should have used this dress as the wedding dress and gone even sexier for the reception. It surprised me that the consultants didn’t pick up on this.
She has a thin waist but with a little belly. It's obvious that drop waisted dresses will never suit her like high-waisted dresses. how can she hope to sell a $5,000 dress if she doesn't understand the basics of basic?
This is from 2009. Her $5,000 budget today would be worth $7,279, so any bride with reasonable expectations could get two dresses for that (but why anyone wants to waste good money on a wad of expensive fabric that's only going to be worn once is beyond me).
Wouldn't want that Diane near me. She's the type who's only interested in her commission. Even saying I'll give you my card and I'll be happy to show you more dresses indicates she's in for her snatch. This lovely lady needs a different assistant.
To be fair, that is usually how it goes. If your coming back for repeat appointments, you’re better off staying with the same consultant because they’ve dealt with you before and would have a better idea of what you’re looking compared to a consultant you’ve never dealt with.

Ballgown doesn't always mean dropped waist. If she had a Ballgown with a higher regular waist. I think she would have been happier.
YES! I was wondering why she only put her in dropped waist ball gowns!
Yes…the dropped waste was not suitable at all.

I commend this bride for telling the consultant she needed 2 dresses at the beginning of the appointment instead of later 🙌🙌🙌
The issue was definitely the dropped waist. It did not flatter her body shape. Shes beautiful but the right shape matters.
I feel like every designer had missed the visual memo that those severely dropped waists look good on NO ONE.
They should have tried A-line dresses on her..A-line dresses don't have that stitch in the middle of the dress.
