Finally, a family member who stepped up after insisting on a more expensive gown.
Yes!! It always bothers me to see the entourage grabbing gowns that are clearly beyond the bride's budget and then just shrug when she points out she can't afford it. I absolutely loved this episode; what a sweet, supportive family.
I saw that on another Lori episode. The bride was considerate and only wanted a $2000 budget but the dress she liked was $5000. Therefore, she hesitated but her dad got it for her and told her not to worry and she did wear that dress on the wedding day.
We are all raised very differently. I would NEVER allow my parents to pay some ridiculous amount of money for a dress. Absolutely not. I could never place financial burden onto someone else. That to me is a disgrace.
I don't care how much money was on the table. Spending money wisely is a road less traveled with specific individuals who were raised to be selfish and irresponsible.
@@linamarie84 i completly understand your point of view, but in the case when a family push the bride to try on a more expensive dress, i think it's normal for them to pay for the extra amount if the bride love the dress they pushed over, so the bride pay for her budget and the alteration and the family pay the rest.
@@linamarie84 We don't know anything about the uncle or their situation. Maybe he could well afford it and has no children of his own. I know my friend's brother did this for all of her kids. He's gay and never had kids of his own or even a long-term relationship (he's of the age before gay marriage became popular) He did a lot for every one of her kids and he could WELL afford it. Now that he is old and sick, her eldest daughter moved him in with her. so, obviously, she appreciated her uncle and what he did for her.

Kudos also to the bride’s Mom who came in to the room alone to assure the bride was getting the dress she wants, not just pleasing her Dad and Uncle.

I cannot imagine, in my wildest dreams, the love and support she receives from her father and uncle.
She ought to have Uncle Dave start walking her down the aisle and have her dad take over half way to finish the walk.
That's what I thought. My oldest daughter had her dad and my husband at the time both walk her down the aisle, one on each side. It was touching.
or she can have them both on either side of her, i've seen some brides walk down the aisle that way when it's like, dad and stepdad.
This episode has to be at least 12 years old, but yeah.

Those are tears of relief from the dad! Good old Uncle Dave! You can tell she was not expecting that. I don’t think any of them were. This is a really good example of where the money goes in a dress. The expensive fabric drapes so nicely and reflects light in a different way.

It was really nice of her Dad and Uncle Mike to cover the cost of the wedding dress. The wedding dress looked pretty on her and she was actually glowing.

I agree to some extent but you should not spend wastefully just to make yourself “happy “. True happiness comes from within you and no amount of money can buy it.

I have an uncle like that and feel so lucky.
I had an uncle like that. We loved each other deeply. He was always there for me, Supportive , loving and someone I could talk to about anything , without fear of judgement . He's been dead for a long time, now, but I think about him and miss him daily. I always will. Yet, I'm thankful to have been blessed ,with both him and my aunt, in my life. Without their loving support, I really doubt I'd still be here , now. They, literally , saved my life

At 1:28 the bride to be and her fiance look like identical twins. I wish them all the best. Most times, I don't approve of going over budget for a wedding dress but with this bride, it was meant to be. The support from her dad and her uncle meant everything.
