I know right??? So elegant. You could wear that to a non gothic wedding just for the black and white, but on a Halloween wedding the black really pops.
I went to a friend's wedding held on Halloween. People could come in custume or not. The preacher was Kermit the frog, the best man was Scooby-Doo, and the bride & groom were dressed as pirates. The cake was chocolate, covered in spidespiderweb, with a raspberry filling. I think it's a great day to get married on. I would have it a bit more on the formal wedding vibe and not so much of just a costume party (which is how my friend's felt to me). But it was fun and everyone had a great time.
I have always thought Morticia Aadams was very elegant. A Halloween day wedding could be amazing AND in the Catholic Church it’s ‘All Hallow’s Eve’ which is like Christmas Eve because November 1 is ‘All Saints Day’ and November 2 is ‘All Souls Day’ which are very holy feast days. The entire month of November is about remembrance of those who have died and praying for their souls. Special Masses are said all month. If you had important loved ones who have died and you wanted them to be remembered in your wedding, it would be a perfect day for something very special.
i'll admit i perked up when she said "black and white weddings are the new thing" because that's exactly what my late october wedding was in 2012! my mom made me toss a bit of red in there so she could wear the wedding colors and not "look like the wait staff" but my dress was very elegant and dramatic. all white satin with black satin trim around the bust/corset laces and then this WEDGE of black with embroidered white swirls in the back of the skirt. i made my own bouquet of rolled satin roses to go with it and it's my favorite part of the whole wedding. i even had a veil trimmed in black satin!
I loved the first dress on the first bride. It was way more gothic and unique than the one she chose...it had the perfect Halloween vibe. There is more to a goth aesthetic than 'black'.
Poor Keasha often seems to get brides who already have a dress, and she usually finds something better, and yep once again she totally nailed it... that gown suited Stacey perfectly!!!!
Right?!? Whenever a bride says she wants something no one else will have, I wonder why she's in a shop! She needs a seamstress or to be in a vintage clothing store.
It made me laugh when the lady was in the stock room saying "oh no, it's £300 over her budget". Firstly, how many times do they bring out a dress and then announce it's thousands over the budget? And secondly it's already on the sale rack. You can't tell me they won't knock another £300 off to get rid of it.
As a goth with very conservative parents speaking, goth isn't just about black, incorporating black and darker colors can work but you don't have to wear it to love goth and the goth aesthetic. :)
The first dress was actually great. Not sure why they immediately hated it. It gave goth feel. Put a black belt on it perhaps and it would have been super nice. And I can’t believe how much people spend on the dress now days. Mine was 300.00 back in the late 90’s. And even that was considered as pricy. 😂
I still really like Keisha. She’s good at what she does and knows how to help a bride find their look and keep them focused and happy during their shopping experience. ^^

@@Dulcess it’s cool that you’ve seen it. But if the close is temporary, I hope my little sister will get to shop for her dress there. So hopefully she’s still around :)
I wanted a black dress for my wedding. My family was horrified that it’s what I wanted. I had a custom black mermaid gown made for me for my bat themed Friday the 13th in October wedding. Do what you want for your wedding it’s your day not anyone else’s. They’ll get over it or not but oh well.
I would have LOVED to have been at a wedding like that. People just need to realize that 'white wedding tradition' started in the late 19th century by rich people who wanted to show off their money. It's not 'sacred', originally brides just wore the best dress they owned, no matter the color. You should do what you want for your wedding, so called 'tradition' be damned.
When I went for my first fitting, I had my back turned as the consultant unzipped the bag. Her: Oh Lisa, what a beautiful dress. Me, as I turn around: My name's not Lisa & that's not my dress.😯
I wore black 27 years ago at my wedding. Look, it’s ur wedding wear what u want! Women didn’t start wearing white wedding dresses till Queen Victoria wore white during her wedding. Women used to wear color in the U.S baby pink or baby blue and after Queen Victoria wearing white in the late 1800’s and it caught on in the U.S at the turn of the century. It’s ridiculous how women copy other women and now so many women have copied her it’s now the “ u have to wear white!” No , u do not! Be u be urself. That man is not marrying Queen Victoria or the copy cats he’s marrying u. Just like and engagement ring. Every woman gets a diamond. Does no one have originality anymore? Nope, mine was black gold and had emeralds.
Loved the black and white dress, admit if it was me I'd of wanted a tad more black but she still looked stunning in it and a great choice for the wedding day she wants 💖
Yeah, and what bride would forget a prominent bow on the front!? I think they gave her someone else's dress, possibly because hers got lost or wasn't available. I see this happens a lot at different bridal stores. I really think they gaslight the brides when something goes wrong! I'd be sure to take pics of every angle, and also have my own copy of the details (order numbers, shade numbers, special instructions, etc).
When I hear goth or Halloween wedding dresses I wonder what a light gray almost silver dress would look like to give a less traditional look yet lighter than black.
I have fallen in love with a couple of Paris Grey wedding dresses over the years. I think it would be a really unique yet understated option. All of them have been very opulent ballgowns in silk. Imagine a wedding at a French chateaux, especially on a foggy day. I like the idea of people looking at your wedding photos and wondering what century your wedding was in!
I have friends who got married on Halloween. They chose to have a ceremony that was very formal. The only hint of Halloween was the subtle use of purple and orange (also romantic colors!) plus some black lace accents like this bride in the above video. There were a few pumpkins and vine garlands elegantly decorating the floor of the alter area, too. I think their parents talked them into keeping the ceremony formal. I have to say, they knew what they were doing and it was on point for the day. Very elegant and romantic! At the reception, it was a full Halloween dance party plus many of the traditional wedding reception activities. Everyone was encouraged to change into costumes if they wanted. The bride and groom changed into costumes that resembled the Deets’s wedding attire from Beetlejuice plus a bit of corpse makeup. The reception had a giant banner that said “Till Death Do Us Part”. It was a ton of fun! They’re still together after more than 10 years and are great parents, too.
Thing is that here (Germany) in a teeny-tiny village somewhere in a submountaineous area there actually is a shop specialised on bridal wear that holds more than 3,000 bridal gowns. Plus general evening wear, groom's attire, etc. So, Kleinfeld's (and I heard that often) is not that huge at all. They just keep boasting about it, but not much substance to it.
I got married on Halloween and also love color. The front of my dress was white, but the top and bottom edges and the entire back was all a dark chocolate brown.

Why was Keasha so opposed to showing the bride something black, and horrified at a halloween wedding? Was she told to say those things by the producers? If not, it wasn't very professional.
Idt she personally was "so opposed". It's just that when you walk into a wedding gown store for a wedding dress and not any other event they're not going to be waiting for you to say color or oh give me a black dress. And bc they're not counting for that, one way or the other, most of the dresses they have there are going to be white, ivory, cream/vanilla maybe but mostly white and a off white. Another thing to add was this was way back when so nobody's really going to be on board/on brand for a black wedding dress. Even now, they might have tried to expand but idt wedding dresses have really changed. It's going to be mostly white and nothing but, with maybe an actually colored dress or black dress. you'll be lucky (to this day) if they have a colorful wedding dress waiting, a black/grey wedding dress waiting. A couple, not just one, or a splash of it in a ott very white dress at that.
The cross has nothing to do with being religious. It was the murder weapon used to kill Jesus Christ, and as such, certain faiths avoid the ugly thing at all times. The bigger the cross, the darker the person. Anyone who truly understands the Bible knows that.
