Uncle Sal was so tactful and constructive with his criticism. Everything he said when rejecting a dress was gentle and helpful. He was also very hands-on and involved with the appointment. A lot of people in other entourages should really be taking notes.
When I got married in 1985, I was a "full figured" woman. I would never be able to afford a expensive gown. I actually went to JC PENNY, and bought a beautiful gown from their catalog for about $200. I loved it. They had several to choose from in larger sizes. 😊
I brought a JCPenney bridal dress too. It was at an outlet store. I love my dress it was about $100.00. The stuff now days is way too much. You only wear it one day. Better to that money towards a house or retirement.
It’s unfortunate but Kleinfelds does not cater to the big girls. They should have a whole section for plus size, but really pretty dresses, not the crappy ideas

Because the bridal industry was different when this episode aired. This whole season of Big Bliss was like in 2011(?) and no one had plus size sample gowns then. Just because this episode was uploaded today on RUclips doesn't mean it was filmed yesterday.
I loved Brittany's 2nd dress and was really disappointed that the rest of them talked her out of it. Until I saw the 3rd dress! Perfect for her; absolutely the best choice! And the dress that Romance chose was great! Glad she didn't go with the halter; didn't like that one at all! Good episode: great dresses and sensitive and caring entourages.
I agree there's nothing wrong with being beautiful no matter your size. But stating someone is a bigger girl over and over is focusing on the wrong thing.
Why? The consultants cannot pick a sample gown for them to try. Their being plus size means that they also have to look for different silhouettes. And don't forget that this whole season of SYTTD was entitled "Big Bliss" so it is kind of the point. Look. I am also larger than sample size. And I am also busty. Acknowledging it does not say anything about me as a person. It actually helps get the style of dress that will flatter my figure most. Isn't that the main point anyway?
This must be 20 years old, because these womens is considered average by today's standards. This aint even big compared to the slobs I see on the streets and in the malls. We are too fat.
Both women looked beautiful in their dresses! I wish the consultants wouldn't assume somebody petite wants to look taller....maybe they are happy to be petite and look petite.
I absolutely get where this bride is coming from with her frustrations. Her build and height are very similar to my own. And let me tell you. If my hips and bum don't get in the way, then my chest does. It's a nightmare...
Now that most Americans are obese, why wouldn't Klenfelds and designers in general cater to the marketplace? Makes no sense to me. Why limit your sales when obese people get married too? Raise your prices for all the extra fabric, etc.
because most of their clientele are not. This is a designer store in Manhattan. It means they would have to stock different designers that specialise in bigger gowns when people with big bucks like LAzara and Pnina are doing big dollar deals with them
Just like we shouldn't make fun of someone body type we shouldn't make fun of someone teeth.😢 As a poor person on Medicaid my teeth are awful. It is unforgivable, for USA bridal show - A country where many many people are Plus size - is bearly giving any thought to plus size brides. Look at Say yes to the dress UK, they do it sooooo much better
I mean, this was aired a long time ago, so sizes have come a long way. Also, the sizing in the UK is different from that in the US and other countries.
that's a specialist salon catering to a specific demographic in a lower socioeconomic area. This is Manhattan in an upperclass store. Most clientele won't be obese. “Petite” is supposed to mean smaller in all dimensions, in normal proportions. “Short” is supposed to mean small height but normal or wider width. Saying “plus-size petite” makes no sense. I know some people use petite to mean short because they think it somehow sounds better, but then that leaves actual petite women and men being called “child-size,” which to me sounds worse than “short.” (Pet-peeve rant over, sorry, have a good day) These dresses are gorgeous!
