As others said, Topsail is pronounced Topsul. As far as NC destinations go, I would more recommend further up the ICW to the area around Emerald Isle up through Beaufort (Bo-fort, not Bū-fort like in SC). You’re about an hour closer to the Pamlico, Beaufort Inlet is one of the safer NC inlets to navigate, Harkers Island and Cedar Island are a short jump away and provide great old drum opportunities, plenty of citation trout in the area, there’s surf and offshore opportunities, artificial reefs abound, and it’s a great area for the whole family.
I was supposed to be up there this past year but plans got changed. I will try to make it though. Appreciate the heads up!
Connecticut Rhode Island and the Cape cod are some of the best inshore fishing for striped bass
I need to get up there and try it out. I’ve heard great things!
Pat, Great video. As a Murrells Inlet resident I agree with your comments about the Inlet. Great place to fish and great town. Charlie
It’s a special place for sure! I want to get back there soon.
OUTSTANDING as usual Salt Strong, thanks for including Murrell's Inlet, SC, and Top-sul(or Topsail) NC!!!
Thanks! Appreciate the clarification on Top-sul!
That was great… really appreciate it.
Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
Great list, my bucket runneth over
Thanks @tnmacris
Man, you gave away the hidden gem of Baffin Bay. Great place!
Baffin is great! But I think most won’t put in the work to get there and fish it though.
Guana is one of my favorites! Big trout in there too.
Appreciate this list, it’s a lot of fun to imagine a huge road trip hitting them all.
It’s funny, I meant to say 30 inch trout in the video but said redfish instead. Either way, plenty of both there.
@@shallowwaterguy4755 yes sir! I love that whole area. Hoping to move there in a few years (from NY).
Just in time ... we've been planning for a post-pandemic trip, or two, and several of these were completely new. Thanks.
Thanks for watching and hope this helps. So many great places to fish out there!
Post pandemic? It’s been 4 years….
@@Sam-ql4um ... yeah ... and I've had Covid twice ... no fun.
@@woodystemms3799 yikes that sucks
Great information, Pat thanks
Thanks for watching!!
No list is complete without Murrells Inlet- although as a Pawleys island native I’m a little biased towards Pawleys but people usually lump them both together
You don’t hear much about that place but the locals know!! Such a great place!
Have you ever tried or heard of laguna madre or arroyo city in South soutthhhhh texas? Bahia Grande is good for snook too! Check it out on the maps it's nice! Great video man!
Were you able to hit up the new Bait and Tackle store opened by a team of You Tubers while in Orange Beach? If so thoughts? Their calling it Beach Bum Outdoors.
We know those guys well! In fact we’ve got some Mastery Courses with Matt and Brant on beach and pier fishing. Great guys!
checking out Guana Lake and see a launch location at the Guana River Dam. Can you go North under the bridge? I have a Kayak on a trailer. Do I need to use the wheel kit to get it in the water so I can go North rather than South?
There’s a kayak launch on the NE side of the dam. You can easily get a kayak trailer down there.
Mobile Bay Alabama
Great place to fish!! Tons of variety there!
Well, I live on Baffin Bay so I guess lucky me although no one talks about how windy and shitty the conditions normally are but it’s fun
How do you not mention snook in some of those gulf spots? Just wondering because that's the funnest fish in those areas to catch in my humble opinion
True! Most of the areas I mentioned don’t have a big population of snook but the Nature Coast and Mosquito Lagoon has plenty. Appreciate the input!
Dauphin island Alabama
I would argue the Lower Laguna Madre is better for Trophy Trout than Baffin Bay. Reason being is I know plenty of ppl down here who have caught 30”+ trout (my pb is 28” 1/2, and have caught plenty of 25”+) and I know ppl who have fished Baffin Bay for years and haven’t caught anything above 26”, hehe. Great vid regardless, keep up the great work Salt Strong Team! 🥳
Appreciate it!! I think the whole Texas coast is awesome. I wanted to break it down and talk about Mansfield, Corpus, Rockport and South Bay all separately but the video would be too long! Maybe I’ll do a just Texas version?
@@shallowwaterguy4755 I think that would be great idea! Love any informative videos with you in them Pat! Much love from South Tx! 🎣
Fish laguna madre alot..trying to get into the bigger trout, what are some good spots down here for them?
@@leesrcs9539 I do real good in port Mansfield for 20”+ trout on top water in the am, given the weather is nice. But the bigger trout in my experience are usually super shallow in clearer water, closer toward SPI you should be able to find plenty of grass flats with potholes. Target the potholes! (Wade fish to be able to sneak em up em’!)
@@leesrcs9539Port Mansfield is the place to go if you're looking for gator trout.
This should be a Salt Strong Insider video only
It will be posted in the Community for the Insiders to see also. Most of our Insider videos are geared towards how to catch more fish, this was just a fun one so to show some places people might not have heard of or ones that want to start a bucket list themselves. Appreciate the feedback as always!
10,000 Islands
That’s a place I haven’t been to yet. It’s on the list though. Thanks for the add!
It’s IS pronounced Topsul, not TopSAIL. 😊
Thanks for the clarification! That’s what I was thinking
Facts.
Is that all you fish for? Sad.
Our channel and audience is geared towards inshore salt water fishing so our videos are mostly that. But we do fish for other fish also!
What about New England and the insane inshore striper fishing
@@rmf9567 I’ve never been up there so I can’t speak to it personally. But that would s something I would love to do.
@@shallowwaterguy4755 the striped Bass and blue fish are insane from a canoe or kayak..
This article/video is a joke at best. Texas has whole lot more better fishing then Baffin Bay. Go learn more about Texas coast before you open mouth. 😂😂😂😂
