I was a small child when this show was on in the late 70s, my Granny an I loved to watch this show an eat homemade ice cream, such lovely memories, my Granny past away many years ago , I'm sure if she was here today watching this silly funny awesome show she'd be laughing out loud with me. Thanks Carol, vickie, harvey, an Tim, for the wonderful memories
I can remember my parents ROCKING with laughter on this one.. This was just as CHARO had really HIT big and was on every talk show.. being just like this.. it was the perfect send up at the perfect time.. so well written.. and then stand back, let Carol tear it up!!
i am not even born when this show was aired... but i was hooked right now... binge-watching in fact 😅.. hilarious af... Carol Burnett is amazing and so humble..Tim Conway is very very very funny 😂
The writers had Carol say what Charo actually said. It's brilliant. Lyle is perfect as Mark. His torso is drop dead sexy. Woot! Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme were fine on the show as long as they didn't sing. Brilliant skit and don't forget Vicki Lawrence.
Actually it was "Charo" a Spanish singer and guitar player, that's who she is imitating. She's pushing 70 today and she looks almost the same with the same hairstyle and body. She went on The Love Boat, Fantasy Island and TV game shows a lot.
Carol Burnett (and whoever wrote this bit) was particularly brilliant in her spoof of Charo, especially highlighting how she uses her accent and lack of command of English as a way to get away with smarmy jokes and references.
I JUST saw an interview with Mark Spitz on the news -- he was talking about his mustache and how the Russians were very interested...I had to stoke the fireplace die to rolling power outages ( were keeping our heat very low) ... Ugh. Im so thankful I found this!!! Loved this show back in the day!!!!
Actually, Lyle Waggoner left the Carol Burnett show and starred in Wonder Woman the next season. He wanted to advance his career. He played one character (Steve) in the first two seasons when the show was set in WWII, then his own son Steve Jr.) when the show fast forwarded to the (then) present, late 70s
I used to watch this as a kid, reminds me of how back then the optimal man's physique was considered to be slim and toned. Kids used to make fun of "muscle heads" or men with muscles that are too large unlike today.
It was meant at the time to imitate Charo who at the time was very famous in Las Vegas, guest starring constantly in "The Love Boat", "Fantasy Island" and many game shows.
Steve kept pronouncing Harvey's name "wrong". But the way Steve kept saying Ganif, that's actually Yiddish for Thief. So, Harvey being the swimmer's manager was a thief. A nice trick on words there.
I remember when Spitz didn't live up to his own hype the first Olympics, but came back and broke records. He was even spoofed in the 'Doonesbury' cartoons.
Me & my brother were 5 & 6 years old when Mark Spitz made Olympic history, and we thought it was the height of comedy to call him “Mark Spits in the pool”
There was a skit with a cranky old mechanic and the Charo character busting in looking for a job. The usual hilarious stuff ensues. Trying to find that episode. Anyone has the season or the title?
Fascinating to see how the male body aesthetic has changed..... the swimmer would never pass for fit these days. Meanwhile, Charo..... LMAO!!!! The stereotypical Latina, yet something else not allowed these days. Hilarious all the same!! LMAO!
Carol’s impression of Charo is the best thing I’ve ever seen….😂😂😂
Carol Burnett is a national treasure
Vicki Lawrene is so good. Her laugh is hilarious!
Lyle Waggoner was so underrated when it comes to the shows legacy. He was hilarious too.
...and F'ing cute c'mon say it, SAY IT AllEn, or is it Steve?! : l
And so hot!
He passed away this week. RIP Lyle He was also Steve in Wonder woman. He was much more than a sexy man! He was a amazing man.
@@anitraduke3616 I didn't hear about Lyle Wagoners passing. I wondered about how all of the characters/actors on that show were doing.
To the RUclips community , EVERYONE is underrated.

Love you, Carol. You improved my life.
I can remember my parents ROCKING with laughter on this one.. This was just as CHARO had really HIT big and was on every talk show.. being just like this.. it was the perfect send up at the perfect time.. so well written.. and then stand back, let Carol tear it up!!
Charo: a blast from the past.
This is much too funny 😂.
My father loved to say "coochie coochie" now I'm 66 years old myself and my father is long gone.
i am not even born when this show was aired... but i was hooked right now... binge-watching in fact 😅.. hilarious af... Carol Burnett is amazing and so humble..Tim Conway is very very very funny 😂

R.I.P. Lyle Waggoner (Steve Trevor on "Wonder Woman").
The talent on this show was phenomenal. Steve Lawrence was terrific. They all were.
Lyle is so handome. And funny.
Brilliant comedy delivered by a brilliant cast.
Thank u carol burnett n cast...fr all these funny hilarious skits....tey really made my day😅💜....
Her "Aunt Louise" hit the nail right on the head💓.
This show is 100 times better than the schlock on TV today
ABSOLUTELY!
Yes, today it's crystal clear, high definition superior audio junk : l
I’d keep my mind open to the talent of today on tv and to not keep your mind so closed
Lyle looked GREAT!! 😍
Never knew Carol invented twerking. Lol
Also had killer legs!
Actually it was "Charo" a Spanish singer and guitar player, that's who she is imitating. She's pushing 70 today and she looks almost the same with the same hairstyle and body. She went on The Love Boat, Fantasy Island and TV game shows a lot.
@@danseabreeze1404 Love Charo
OMG...hilarious!!!
Oh my word...the one and only Carol Burnett could get away with that skit...
I've NEVER seen anybody else with Steve Lawrence's jaw line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When he spit that water out I lost it!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Carol looks fabulous in every blonde wig♡
She's parodying "Charo" and she's done a damn good job!! OLE'!!
Wow, the audience was mostly kind this time so great:D
Me and my family love Carol forever
Her show was so funny.
🚝 Thank You!
Oh, to have a piece, in this world.
The humor, the genius, sublime, and.. yeah, not only do we only know what you mean, but...
I had a crush on Vicky Lawrence back in the day, never saw this episode before.
Carol Burnett (and whoever wrote this bit) was particularly brilliant in her spoof of Charo, especially highlighting how she uses her accent and lack of command of English as a way to get away with smarmy jokes and references.
Charo herself that Carol impersonated her better than she did herself!
I couldn't stand Charo! Carol sure does her well!
Exactly. Charo was and is an immensely talented flamenco guitar player, the ditsy cuchi cuchi girl is a stage persona
Amazing costume !
Charo is so proud ahahah
yea, man..i remember the show Saturdays nites..right?! One of the many FUNNY skits..Thanks 4 posting!!
Carol is such a lovely person! She always looks so beautiful in her gowns! I don't particularly enjoy the humor on television today. Bless you Carol!
Hahahahahaha the...How have I missed HER so far.....the funniest ever
I love it.
Love Carol
Brilliant comedy and Lyle Waggoner was really Hot. Carol with blond wig looked fabulous. One of the best shows of all time.
I would love to reborn like Carol Burnett
3:40, why do I like Carol Burnett as Charo so much?😎😇
I love this lady.
OMG I WAS RIGHT. THAT IS STEVE FROM WONDER WOMAN! I RECOGNIZED HIM CUZ HE WAS HOT EVEN BACK THEN.
Love this video. ;-)
Hilarious stuff.
I used to watch this as a kid, reminds me of how back then the optimal man's physique was considered to be slim and toned. Kids used to make fun of "muscle heads" or men with muscles that are too large unlike today.
I remember watching the TV with "FAMILY" this was one of my parents favorite and Sunday night Disney.
I always enjoyed the question/answer sessions
Carol Burnett looks good as a blonde.
R.I.P. Lyle Waggoner
Now I know who Sofia Vergara reminds me of.
Charmain Jones haha. I was thinking the same thing.
Let's be honest. She is no actress.
Vaguely like Charo.
It was meant at the time to imitate Charo who at the time was very famous in Las Vegas, guest starring constantly in "The Love Boat", "Fantasy Island" and many game shows.
Aaaah glad to know i am not the only one..
The 2020 "Sofia Vergara"
😂😂
Lyle Wagonner in a speedo on TV in the 70's....hot !!!
They probably would not even allow this NOW!
they would call it mansplaining
They show men wearing a lot less nowadays.
Lyle was the last Playgirl centerfold wearing a bathing suit.
Are you kidding?
We just had a whole "pride" month of that but in the streets & in front of little boys.
Back then Speedos weren't obscene - just a bit shocking.
Lyle is hot.
Heehee Heehee - SOoo FUNNY! RIP Lyle Waggoner 03-17-20 @ the age of 84
And Lyle's legs go right up in the air too. Mmm nice.
Seriously lyle, take off that tuxedo!
I remember one skit with Charo and Carol came out as her mother. Same outfit but a very different bust line!
Now THAT is a man ❤️🔥😍
RIP Lyle.
Peace in the World !!!!!!
The ultimate twerker!
Steve kept pronouncing Harvey's name "wrong". But the way Steve kept saying Ganif, that's actually Yiddish for Thief. So, Harvey being the swimmer's manager was a thief.
A nice trick on words there.
SpiritBear12 Plus Harvey was Jewish in real life. :-P
no it goes back to the great running jokes with Mel Brooks that he would continue to do.
Hedy lamarr no that's Hedley
count the money know de Monet
Yes, Harvey Korman was from a Jewish family. Steve Lawrence was born into a Jewish family, too.
I swear that first girl asking Carol the question has got to be related to Nancy Kerrigan.
💗💗💗😍💗💗💗
Única CAROL para su vestuario!! una adelantada!!! usaba en la década del 60,modelos ...telas y cortes del 2020!!! genial!!!!!!
Some of the audience members should be on the show 😂😂😂😂😂
at 2:20 The Beast With Two Backs. That got by the censors!.
The Beast With a Thousand Backs is a metaphor for having sex
I remember when Spitz didn't live up to his own hype the first Olympics, but came back and broke records. He was even spoofed in the 'Doonesbury' cartoons.
Me & my brother were 5 & 6 years old when Mark Spitz made Olympic history, and we thought it was the height of comedy to call him “Mark Spits in the pool”
This is to funny
Too FUNNY!!!! :D
Hi there, where did you get these clips from?
This Charro is iven fannyer than Charro😂😂😂😂😂🎭🎭
Chiwongo 😂
Why weren't actual Seventies talk shows this much fun? :P
When Charo was the guest, they were
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I wonder how she managed not to throw the wig off when she swirled her head around
There was a skit with a cranky old mechanic and the Charo character busting in looking for a job.
The usual hilarious stuff ensues. Trying to find that episode. Anyone has the season or the title?
Oh my! What must Eddie think 😉
Do you mean Eydie?
*The intro went blank as cartoon Carol scratched her butt. Was it being censored?* 😁
TV should go back to real COMEDY shows.
HILARIOUS BURNETT show 😁👍🏻👍🏻
Hilarious & ridiculous....
This is way better then Kapil sharma show 😂😂❤❤❤
Carol Burnet... smh😂 she was a straight fool
The good old days when Americans had a sense of humor😙
Most of us still do. Its the PC left that doesn't.
Carol's attempt at twerking, oh god..lol!
Anarchy in the USA 😀
Still hilarious!! Lyle Wagner doesn't need to speak... I'll speak for him. 🙄
'the beast with two backs' ... now how did shakespeare sneak into this skit? no objections from the censors?
As the old joke goes.... What's the difference between an Olympic swimmer and an Olympic diver ? Mark Spitz and Greg Swallows.
Is that supposed to be a spanish accent?
Yes 😀
The host looks like Bill Clinton
God forbid.
Fascinating to see how the male body aesthetic has changed..... the swimmer would never pass for fit these days. Meanwhile, Charo..... LMAO!!!! The stereotypical Latina, yet something else not allowed these days. Hilarious all the same!! LMAO!
Was Carol Burnett mean to or shady towards Charo in the 70s? Love them both, but this seems a but...
Nope. Charo was a guest and they did a sketch where Carol played Charo's mother. Very funny-Charo had to stifle a few laughs
She looks like Mariah Carey
Carol does a better Charo than Charo.😁
And now only two are left from this sketch. All professionals, something that is missing nowadays
4:32😂😂😂😂
