Anyone that is willing to do a parody of herself like this, is totally awesome. And to allow Carol to make fun of her only proves that Charo never took herself seriously, which is AWESOME
@@ohmusicsweetmusicIs there a source for this? She was a favorite of mine in the day, and as I recall, frequently sent herself up on comedy shows. This skit did go well beyond the usual “cuchi-cuchi,” but she herself was laughing during the sketch as well. It’s true that her popularity on U.S. TV was based primarily on her own self-parody vs. her amazing skills as an Andre Segovia-trained flamenco guitarist, for which she was best known worldwide … but she has also been quoted as saying that she was willing to keep performing in that image all the way to the bank. Did she particularly dislike something about her stint on the Carol Burnett show?
@@ohmusicsweetmusic I don't think so she was laughing but she stopped because she was a professional. With a good sense of Humor About Herself and Her place in life at that particular Time.
That outfit that Carol was wearing was so hilarious- especially with her you know what were just hanging down!!! Charo and Carol were really funny together! 😅😅🤣
The reaction from both Charo and Tim Conway, along with the hysterical laughing from the audience upon first seeing Carol in that outrageous outfit is HILARIOUS! And the way Carol talks with the accent and the mannerisms is SO funny!
One of Carol’s all-time great entrances and moments. Watching Charo trying not to laugh when she first walked out is hilarious. watching Carol walk around with two oranges for breasts, is priceless.
I remember when this was new, I laughed so hard! Charo used to be a regular guest on variety shows back then, and was a very familiar celebrity. She would do the wild "hoochy coochy" stuff for comedy and later would often play a serious bit of classical music on the guitar. She was delightful. And Carol's costume alone is worth the price of admission here!
Tim Conway cracked me up with his brilliant leaps after getting socked and the accents are perfect, they don't do these comedy live skits anymore, real comedic acting. Those were the days. Makes you happy seeing CB Show. For a brief moment, I forgot all the chaos & confusión of living in 2022 and Covid.
THAT entrance into the scene was hilarious, watching Charo trying soooo hard not to lose it...I absolutely believe if I'd of been in the audience, I'd of pissed my pants from laughing...just listen to some of them! lol...Carol, for me, was the Queen of comedy, maybe even better than Lucy...
I thought the sagging oranges on momma were hilarious, brilliant comedy and after watching the Carol Burnett show back in the 70's, I'm enjoying these the 2nd time around. Fabulous comedy and there's nothing to touch it now.
God Carol is the funniest woman in TV outside of Lucy EVER. I have enjoyed her even from as early as “The Ed Sullivan Show”. I really feel she is a person who would try ANY comedy stunt. And as serious dramatic actress, she is amazingly awesome, as well.
I showed this clip to some younger friends recently ( millenials ) While I thought it was hilarious, they found it offensive and sexist. I told them Charo makes jokes about herself and does not take any of it seriously. They said they felt sad for her, that she did not have enough self respect. They found Carols act as totally racist. I then realized that there is a huge generation gap.
The Kardasians and Bruce Jenner are normal? That is the crap that passes for entertainment today. In real life Carol and Charo are as high class as they come!
Beautiful Charo and Conway Almost Busted their Guts. TRYING NOT TO laugh At Carol And Her Costume. They should have Had Harvey Dressed up Has The Grandmother it would have been Hysterical. P.s. they were very good at Physical Classic Comedy back then True Professional s .Beautiful show.
Loved when Tim conway and Charo saw in that carole in that costume as Charo mother they both Lost it wonderful to see them like that. Particular in Tim Conway Turn about was fair play too bad Harvey wasn't in it he could have been the Grand mother . love it
Love Carol love Lyle love tim love charo when Carol came out in that costume I thought Charo and Tim were going to bust their guts out laughing they barely could contain themselves but they where professional barely
These reruns are on roku 24/7 and I watch them every night. These "Charo" episodes are never shown and I wonder if the real Charo has something to do with that.
Love it but what would have happened if Harvey would have come out Dressed has the Grandm a if Carol was scream what do think Harvey would have been? PS beautiful show funny love it.
American President: " I think we ought to give something to Carol Burnett for her services to US entertainment.." Vice President: " I agree, oh exalted one...............what, may I ask?" Amercan President: How about Hawaii........?
As a pre-teen in the ‘70’s. I always looked forward to Carol Burnett on Saturday night.
And trust me… I remember this sketch like it was yesterday.
The whole skit is hilarious but the best part that I always remember is Charo trying to not laugh when Carol first comes in the scene. Such a classic
Look at Charo when CB walks in she's trying so hard not to crack up. Absolutely hysterical!!
I know right??? LOL!!!
The audience is just roaring in laughter. This is so hysterical. Carols entrance is just spot on funny.
She got "out Charod".
It is one of the funniest moments I can remember, and it wasnt planned. It takes her so long to control herself from laughing.
@@allamericanwiseass2794 yes! Lol 😂

yeah Charo hated it actually.
@@ohmusicsweetmusic If Charo hated it, she wouldn't have done it.

It was rice lol

Imagine if Harvey was there.
I imagine that Carol's costume was kept under wraps until they actually did the skit.
@@edelweisssmith5345 I think that's why he wasn't there. ;-)
I can watch this once a month and never tire of it. How did they not laugh at all.....hahahahahahaha.
One of Carol’s all-time great entrances and moments. Watching Charo trying not to laugh when she first walked out is hilarious. watching Carol walk around with two oranges for breasts, is priceless.
It’s actually rice … Carol talks about Mackie using rice vs. padding, as was usual at the time.
Tim Conway certainly doesn't look like he's very athletic, but he's amazingly strong and agile in these skits.
Figaro Hey! Yes, I’ve noticed that in a lot of them too
He actually had been a boxer in college, I believe. Although he seems dough-y, he was actually in very good shape.
He was a comedic genius! Never got the recognition for his amazing skill.
How he does those leaps over the couch without wires… !?!! It’s amazing!
The greatest comedian funny lady Carol Burnett and her team so awesome 👏
I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in my life! 😂🤣
“You think you can out-wiggle ME?!?”
Genius, every bit of it. And how Tim Conway didn’t corpse during this skit, I’ll never know.
I just can't enough of this skit!!!!
Charo was such a cutie 😍
More of a Hottie than a Cutie.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Now if Harvey Korman was in this skit, he would have been on the floor, with laughter.
🫣Carol’s chi-chi’s!! 🤣 OMG! I wish I can turn back time & go back to this era! But i was still young, no matter these yrs were the best!❤
The stand in the corner is hilarrrrrrioooous!

Carol Burnett was a very good comedian I wish there was more actresses like her she was the tops of all time.
One of the greatest comedy shows of all time, love the whole cast. A plus skits, second to none. Thanks for posting these gems 💎.
Charo never got the respect she deserved for being a guitar player. She is an amazing flamenco guitarist.
One of those rare skits where Tim wasn't the focal point. Carol killed it with this character😆.
They don't make comedy like this anymore. ❤ it
This episode is so classic!!😆🤣😅😃😂
Dude how does he throw himself over the couch like that? He clears it like nobody's business.
This is absolutely my most favorite skit!

This sketch has me HPLMAO! The way Carol Burnette portrays Chiquita’s(Charo’s) momma!
This is my favorite one out of like the seventy five I’ve watched before 😂😂
2:30 is the apex of comedy, bar none.
